It drives me absolutely insane when my mom and sister try to lecture me about buying clothes smaller than a size 24... they keep insisting it'll only fit for "the first few days" or whatever nonsense... (as if I haven't already bought them regardless of their input...)

And then today, some lady—probably in her mid-50s—just completely lost it on me.
She had the nerve to practically plant her lounge chair right over mine while I was out in the water.
Apparently, it’s the only spot with any shade on the beach.
I don't care where my chair was positioned before she showed up...
But when I finally got back from the ocean,
she didn't even have the decency to say "excuse me" or ask if she was in my way.
Instead, she just snaps, "Your chair isn't bothering me, so if mine is bothering you, why don't you just move!" 😲😲

I honestly cannot wrap my head around why older women are so incredibly hostile toward us pregnant ladies,
I’ve noticed that when I’m standing in line at the grocery store, it’s always those specific women who turn their backs on me and pretend I don't even exist,
usually, younger women or men of any age are perfectly fine about letting me go ahead...
when I mentioned this to my husband earlier today
he absolutely lost it... (he’s been fuming all day because he wasn't there to give her a piece of his mind...)

and then there was that time at the clinic where a woman at the blood draw station practically shoved me out of the way—elbows and everything—just because I'm expecting
thankfully, the nurse behind the counter tore her apart so thoroughly that she actually looked ashamed and slunk to the back of the line...

Ugh, the geriatric ward there is a total nightmare... some old lady practically grabbed me by the arm when they called my name for my glucose test, and I just started 🤣..because honestly, what’s even the point of trying anymore?

Ugh, just heard another gem from everyone—men, women, young, old... all of them. If you think things are hard now, just wait until you have a kid, then you'll really see, haha! (okay, I added the laugh at the end, but that’s basically how they say it 🙄). Honestly, why are people such jerks? Like, can't we just have a normal conversation without it turning into some mean-spirited comment? It's not like I'm pregnant because it's "trendy" or whatever... I know exactly what I'm getting into.

Ugh, people can be so incredibly petty and jealous.
We just moved into our new place and my mother-in-law is already acting like "Oh, just you wait..."
Then I get pregnant again and suddenly it's "Oh, let's see how much you actually enjoy having another kid..." blablabla.

It’s honestly pathetic... how can anyone be that bitter when it's about the happiness of your child?

I should be jumping for joy, not dealing with all this nonsense and people trying to rain on my parade with their comments.

It’s been sweltering lately, and every time I mention it, everyone's like, "It's not even that hot in your house." Like, okay, maybe for you, but I'm melting over here. And then they hit me with the constant "How are you? Are you doing okay?" interrogation.

Seriously, you literally can't say anything.

At this point, I just have to say "I'm fine, everything's great," because if you're even slightly honest about feeling off, people immediately shut you down and tell you you're exaggerating. I've stopped sharing anything real because I'll just end up getting nothing but attitude from my own mother.😠

Peeing, peeing, and more peeing... honestly, pregnant women should get subsidized toilet paper at this point.

Is it actually okay for a pregnant woman to attend a funeral? I've heard some old wives' tales suggesting that many pregnant women end up getting sick or vomiting after attending one.😕

Colleague, that's just an old tradition: they say pregnant women and toddlers shouldn't go to cemeteries... I always followed that rule, but mostly because during this pregnancy I've decided to only focus on the positive vibes

Honestly, after everything I went through personally, I just couldn't face attending any more funerals... it was just too much. And being pregnant? I have no clue if I'd even have the energy to show up.
Besides, it's absolutely sweltering out there right now, and I can barely stand still for 15 minutes without melting.

And don't even get me started on the bathroom situation—I'm basically sprinting to the toilet just to deal with ten measly drops.

I've been such a grouch the last few days, crying at everything, feeling overheated, and just generally on edge. I just want to feel like a normal human again, you know? Like, give me PMS once a month, not every single damn day.

👍 I second this completely.
Ever since I became pregnant, sleep has become an absolute luxury—I find myself waking up every two or three hours just to use the restroom, and then I spend another hour trying to drift back off. It’s a constant cycle. I am suffering from chronic sleep deprivation!
I am holding onto the hope that things will improve once the baby arrives, because right now, I'm barely scraping together six hours of sleep split into three separate bouts.🙄

Man, if only that was my only problem... now my hands have started going numb on me in the middle of the night too... 😢

Everyone who claims time is flying by absolutely drives me insane... I’ve only just hit the seven-month mark, and I’m already counting down the days until month eight. It’s ridiculous—just a few days ago, I was drowning in errands and work, and now suddenly everything feels like it's dragging. How is it that time is going to feel even slower from here on out?!! I’ve honestly caught myself wondering several times today if it’s still Monday🙄. Just get a move on, kid, and get out of here—I've had enough.

It’s like I wrote this myself....👍
The only difference is that in my experience, it’s strictly women saying it.
Once you actually give birth, it turns into—"Oh, just wait until he's [insert number of months or years here]," and so on.👎

My mother brings this up to me constantly; you wouldn't believe how close I came to actually believing her.😲 😲However, I managed to steady myself and decide to think through the matter using my own logic rather than just accepting what she said.😁

I’ve heard every single variation of this nonsense too (the whole "get your sleep in now because you won't get any later" routine, etc.).
Maybe I actually want to be tired! And then I'll just rub those rude faces in it—even if I'm lying about it... he he he!!!

Honestly, there is something quite cathartic about looking someone right in the eye and lying through your teeth—you know, the whole "Oh, I'm perfectly fine," or "I slept like a baby," or "It wasn't hard at all" routine... just to get back at them for being so malicious and making those "threats" in the first place...😁>

Ugh, and now I just remembered something else.
What actually gets under my skin the most is...

My mom won't let me sleep or even lie on my stomach.
Apparently, it’s because she thinks I'll crush my breasts (she's been lecturing me about this since day one, and I'm already 11 weeks along today)
😱

(It’s not like she’s actually monitoring how I sleep or anything, but every single time she drops by to visit, she finds me sprawled out on the couch on my stomach, typing away on my laptop😬))

I just stumbled upon this thread!! Total nightmare! 👋👋
Ran into some people at the grocery store yesterday I haven't seen in over a decade—not like we were ever actually friends, either.
"Oh, you've filled out a little bit..." wow, okay..
"Wait, are you...??" um, sure. "And where's the ring??!!" Honestly, why do they care? Mind your own business. It’s none of your concern. I wanted to tell them to shove it, but instead, I just played it cool and politely mentioned the pregnancy—much later, of course. Like, seriously?? Why is everyone so entitled? If I want to buy a bigger shirt, that's my call—NO COMMENT!! DON'T TOUCH!! Good grief.

I’m honestly driving myself crazy right now—just spiraling over how many terrible habits he’s inevitably going to pick up from his father. I can already see it happening in thirteen years: this rebellious, aggressive little terror with a cigarette dangling from his lip and a mouth full of profanity. It’s nauseating. And god forbid he inherits that "enthusiasm" for education that runs through his father’s side of the family... if that happens, I might need to start digging a massive hole just to hide in. I’m already dreading those parent-teacher conferences where everyone points the finger at me because my teenager decided to get into a scrap or act out.

In these last few days—and there’s probably another month and a half left of this—honestly, just go home and lie down. Don't bother showering, don't step foot outside, don't exert yourself. Just stay in bed. Don't eat anything except fruit. Sleep while you can, because you're all about to get screwed. You better get all that sleep in now, since you won't be getting any more anytime soon. Go grab a coffee while you still have the chance, or go catch a movie at the AMC, because there won't be any films playing for the next several decades... JUST STAY POSITIVE!

Look, sure, things get tough sometimes, but when someone hits me with that nasty little comment like, "Just wait until you don't even have time for yourself, let alone your plants," while I'm sitting here three weeks after getting home having already bought a massive haul of new greenery, repotted everything, and spending my daily downtime watering and pruning... 😂 🤣 😂
That's just a textbook example of people being petty for no damn reason.👎
