I’m 22 weeks along now, and honestly, I’ve already gotten used to that constant, nagging urge to pee... what really gets to me, though, is when I actually lose it in my underwear.
It feels like I have zero control over my own body. It’s not even like I feel the need to go beforehand; I’ll just laugh, or sneeze, or bend over a certain way, and—boom—right in my pants. It’s just awful.
The exhaustion is also getting to me quite a bit. I get headaches so easily, and my back is killing me... I can barely make it up the stairs at my house. Once I reach the top, I’m gasping for air like I haven't been able to breathe for ten years.
And don't even get me started on the forgetfulness and how sensitive everything feels lately. I’ve always been a sensitive person, but now, I can't even tell what's real anymore.
I am so ready to not be pregnant... :/ The one silver lining is that I’m not dealing with those brutal period cramps like I used to.

Honestly, I can’t stand it when people try to intimidate me with a condescending, "Uh-huh. You'll see."
It usually boils down to someone undermining my ideas—my plans, my vision, whatever—once the baby arrives. It feels like as soon as I come up with something I genuinely believe is feasible, the other side is just itching to swoop in and ruin it before it even has a chance to happen... What is it about people that makes them act this way? 😁

Americans actually have a specific word for that: "snissing." It’s basically when you let out a little accidental pee right when you sneeze! :-)
I definitely went through that whole shortness of breath phase myself, probably around weeks 16 to 20. It’s usually just because your plasma volume is spiking and your cardiovascular system is trying to get used to the extra workload. Things leveled out for a bit... but now I'm feeling the squeeze again. My uterus is getting so big it feels like it's pressing against my ribs and making it hard to catch a breath, but since the baby is sitting pretty low, it's not quite as intense as those crazy late-term struggles other moms deal with...

I've definitely noticed it the last few days; when I lie down for bed at night, I feel like I've just finished a thirty-minute run. My breathing rate has definitely picked up.

Oh goodness....... please, do tell...🤦
I constantly run into groups of people who try to convince me that my life is over, or that I won't be "me" anymore, or "just you wait," and all that nonsense...
Since there isn't any other way to handle it, I've just started avoiding those types of people altogether, and it's been wonderful. My patience has become incredibly thin during this pregnancy, and frankly, I simply don't have the energy or the desire to deal with that kind of negativity...

I feel exactly like someone who used to go for an intense run every single day. And it has absolutely nothing to do with physical activity. Even my heart feels like it skips a beat occasionally, just for no reason, like while I'm waiting for the bus, for example...

They're just miserable with their own lives, so they don't want anyone else doing any better. 😉

The kicks. Honestly, the kicking has been so relentless the last few days that I can barely handle it. Yesterday was brutal—I could hardly even walk because of the constant thumping in my groin area.
And then there are the people constantly asking if I’m "doing okay."
I've made sure to tell everyone that I'm dealing with a massive bout of sciatica and that I'm stuck in bed indefinitely (which isn't exactly the whole truth), so at least nobody is trying to come over and visit. 😁

I’ve officially stopped commenting on anyone's pregnancy—whether it's friends, acquaintances, or even my own family. I honestly don't have the energy to engage with people who don't have kids; I just can't relate, so why bother? And for those who *do* have kids? The unsolicited commentary is becoming endless. It starts before the pregnancy with stuff like, "Just wait until you see what happens once the kids actually arrive," then moves to, "Oh, so now you're in that uncertain phase for a few weeks," followed by, "The nausea is nothing compared to when you're bloated and everything starts bothering you," and now that I'm feeling huge, it's, "Just wait until you see what labor is like..."

Honestly, does it ever end? I bet after the birth comes the "wait until you try breastfeeding," the "wait until they start school," and eventually, "wait until they bring a daughter-in-law home." Well, if I happen to see it... I guess I'll just have to deal with it.

God, you cracked me up! 😂 But seriously, do people really have nothing better to say than "you'll see"? Like, give me some actual advice instead of just making empty threats!

I don't know... I just want to figure out how I'm going to talk to my close friends about all this—especially since they’re still going through it themselves. And that's assuming they don't even bring it up first! 🙂

My experience has been the exact opposite. Everywhere I look online, I’m reading about every possible struggle—breastfeeding issues, sleep deprivation, exhaustion, you name it. Yet, everyone in my actual life just brushes it off with things like "it's no big deal," "it'll be fine," or "the baby will sleep through the night." It actually scares me because I want to be as prepared as humanly possible. I would love to hear some real experiences, something more grounded in reality... but people either hide the truth (those who just became parents) or they've simply forgotten how hard it was (the veteran parents). I just don't believe for a second that everything is as easy as they claim it is. 🕺

You want realistic? Fine. A close friend of mine didn't get a decent night's sleep for six straight months. Between the colic and the constant gas, she couldn't even touch dairy; she basically survived on toast and deli meat, praying that changing her diet would fix things. She struggled with breastfeeding for five months before finally calling it quits, and then—just when you think you've hit rock bottom—the teeth start coming in. To this day, she still gets nightmares about those first few months.😉

This is precisely what irritates me most. While everyone else is enjoying their sweet dreams, I am wide awake in the middle of the night. I am currently in my 14th week, dealing with constant nausea and a strict diet necessitated by high blood pressure. After surviving that initial wave of exhaustion during the first few weeks when I could sleep day and night, now that I am finally home on bed rest, I cannot sleep at all. Instead, I spend my days wandering around like a zombie. 🙂 It is as if something strikes me at 2:00 AM—even though I go to bed around 10:00 PM—and I am forced to get up to use the bathroom. While that is perfectly normal during the day every twenty minutes, having to do it at night makes it impossible to fall back asleep, no matter how hard I try. Sleep deprivation is killing me. When I was working, I could practically nap while standing up, but now that I am home, nothing works. The nausea is relentless, and every scent irritates me. Everything with a strong aroma is offensive: laundry detergent, cleaning supplies in any form, perfumes, deodorants (I can smell my coworker, my husband, and even my poor dog from miles away, whether they are freshly bathed or not), raw meat, onions, you name it. This is my second pregnancy; the first one exhausted me with morning sickness, but this one involves high blood pressure and constant nausea. I can't eat anything, or rather, I'm not allowed to. As my colleague puts it, "🙂 you can't just overindulge during a pregnancy like this!" Hahaha. So, I am venting to you all to hopefully make my sleepless nights a little more bearable. Generally, I am not a complicated person. We have been waiting years for this baby, and I don't regret a single thing, even the lack of sleep, as long as the baby is born healthy and strong. And yes, I must say, it irritates me when everyone asks about names or assumes it must be a girl since we already have a boy (I fail to see why that should be the case—if it is a boy, what are we supposed to change?). When we were discussing names for a boy, people felt the need to comment, saying things like, "Oh, you wouldn't actually give him such an ugly name, would you?" I firmly believe that choosing a child's name is our private business. Whether the name consists of a single letter or if it is Frances, Mary, Stephanie, Mickey, or Buddy, that choice belongs solely to us. I have never commented on anyone else's choice of names; I simply cannot comprehend it. How can you not know what you want to call your own child? I am only three months pregnant, yet people act as if the priority should be picking a name or debating gender, while my health and the baby's health are treated as completely irrelevant. We still have our favorite names from our first pregnancy, but I am anxiously awaiting my next checkup with the OBGYN to ensure the baby is okay and that I won't end up in the hospital due to my blood pressure. Ultimately, I do not care what others think, but certain things are simply irritating, and I cannot help my reaction.

Honestly, I can't decide which group bugs me more right now: the people who dismiss everything with a "you'll see..." or the ones who mock my worries and act like I'm overreacting to every little thing. I'm basically mentally preparing for an apocalypse during those first few weeks, 😁 though I mostly just picture myself wandering around the house in my underwear for 24 hours straight with a baby attached to my chest.

Everyone is just getting on my nerves, 😁

Not to mention those girls at the Target in Times Square who have been trying to sign me up for their rewards program for two months straight. They write you down in some notebook that nobody ever looks at again, I bet, and then you wait for them to call you—except they never do—so you end up trekking halfway across the city just to have them sign you up all over again. 😠

I'm exactly the same way.😵

Everything anyone tells me is annoying. Maybe the problem is just me.🤣

I’m not pregnant myself, but I know someone who is currently losing her mind because of all the news suggesting that the Zika virus might actually make its way over to the States 😢

I honestly have no idea how to comfort her, especially since everyone is still reeling from the shock regarding how many children were born with complications in Latin America

If I were expecting a baby next summer, I’d probably be losing my mind too. Just tell her she can take control of the situation—use plenty of repellent, get those mosquito zappers for the house, put up screens on the windows...
Plus, even with all that, the odds of catching something like that here in the States are pretty slim.

What really gets under my skin is how people in the community constantly lecture me about how I shouldn't say this or that because I might get "too emotional" or take things too personally, when honestly, most of them are acting like total crybabies during their 3 PM slump—and they aren't even pregnant. It’s pure hypocrisy.
And before anyone tries to claim that the hormones haven't affected me at all, let me be clear: I have an incredibly short fuse and my patience for debating people has basically hit zero, which has been the case for several months now. 😬

Ah, hormones. I didn't really have a huge emotional breakdown myself, even though almost all the women I know were in tears when they heard I was pregnant. Even when I heard the heartbeat for the first time at 😳, I thought it was wonderful, but I managed to keep my composure. Still, I constantly hear comments like, "Oh, you're going to be so sensitive now," or "We have to walk on eggshells around you." Sometimes my mother-in-law will grill me about every single ingredient before a family dinner, asking if I’ll have an issue with it because I'm being "difficult" now—even though I haven't actually asked for anything special or developed any weird food aversions. Honestly, it's a bit irritating when people assume I'm just going to transform overnight into some overly sensitive, irrational, and demanding pregnant woman. :P

Moon, truth be told.
People have this mental image of pregnant women being high-maintenance, but I was never that type.
The only stereotype I actually fit was that I couldn't stomach coffee during my first trimester. That was it.
I didn't have any "special requirements." I wasn't out there eating pickles with ice cream or chocolate with pâté—just typical nonsense—even though people constantly hinted that I might. Honestly, I just felt bad disappointing them. 🤣
