I had no idea about that
Besides, my belly button isn't even protruding, and I'm already working on those legs 🤷

We still don't know the gender, and honestly, we couldn't care less what it turns out to be. (Though, if I'm being real, I just want to find out ASAP so I can finally start buying cute little clothes 😍)
Whenever people corner us asking what it is, we just tell them we have no clue. Then comes the inevitable follow-up: "So, what are you hoping for?" And our answer is always the same—doesn't matter to us.
Then, during one of these conversations, I mentioned that I actually think it might be a girl (I’ve been dreaming about a little girl), and suddenly I'm getting lectured. This person starts preaching at me about how the gender isn't important and that all that matters is that the baby is healthy.
Like, dammit, I get it. I know that. I really didn't want to end up saying something terrible back to them.

🙂
So, I headed downtown today because I had some paperwork I absolutely had to drop off at City Hall, but of course, it’s absolutely pouring rain out there! I finally managed to trudge my way through the storm and get inside the building, and just as I'm getting settled, they go, "Attention valued citizens, we would like to inform you..." and then blah blah blah—basically telling us that even today is a free day for them to take our money! 😠
Then, I swung by the local Post Office, right? And I'm standing there waiting, and the lady behind the counter is just chatting away on her phone, completely ignoring me, even though I was actually first in line! Then, out of nowhere, this older woman just marches right up and cuts right in front of me, looks me dead in the eye, and says, "I just need to buy a money order..." and I just looked back at her and said, "Well, I just need to buy an envelope!" 🙂 honestly, I think🙄
She ended up giving up and just walking out 🤣

And they were pulling heavy physical shifts all through the winter, too.
Not like we do today.

Honestly, it really bugs me when people poke at my belly and say, "It’s going to be a boy."
I mean, sure, it might be, but wtf? What does that even matter—whether it's a girl or a guy?
Both my husband and I couldn't care less; we are just counting down the days until this baby is here, and we’re going to love them just as much regardless of gender because they're ours.
It feels like everyone is just flattering us—like the old-fashioned way where they say, "Oh, you'll have a son!"
To my husband, it's like, "Congrats on making a son," and to me, it's "Congrats, you're having a son."
It irritates me that my kid is being judged by gender before they've even been born.
And let's be real, the ones doing most of that gender-based judging are women 95% of the time.

I've been in the exact same boat.🙄
Every single aunt and neighbor kept telling me I was having a boy, and I'd just shut them down:
- "Actually, no, it's a girl."
-"Oh, they must have misread the scan, it's definitely a boy!"

But then those very same people acted all shocked once my little girl actually arrived.😍

Ugh, please, just endless gossip and old ladies' tales... She calls my neighbor on the phone and it’s always the same routine—"How are you? How have you been feeling?"... And then comes that legendary question: "So, have you put on some weight?" Like, seriously? Just because I'm a little softer around the edges now... give me a break... grrrrr 😠😠😠

honestly those babies are hilarious—just like walking ultrasound machines
you should’ve just opened a sportsbook and cashed in on all those guesses 😁

I’m honestly driving myself crazy. I have a mountain of stuff to do for the nursery, but I can’t get anything done without taking like a hundred breaks. I need to step outside for air, I can’t even bend over without feeling it... everything is just exhausting and my energy is
Basically, by the time I’m five months along with the next one, everything will be ready. This pregnancy is a total slog, and then my husband has the nerve to ask when I’m finally going to finish cleaning, while I’m sitting here losing my mind because I can’t do it all alone
And back when I actually wanted to buy the furniture and get things organized, it was always "we don't have the cash right now," or "just wait," or "what's the rush? we still have time"😠
This sucks. I definitely didn't picture things ending up like this😢

I’m done answering my phone.
Everyone's just sucking me dry at this point.
You in labor yet?
When is it happening?
What's the hold-up?
Starting to feel the pains?
Let me know the second things start moving.
You up for tonight?
Already done?
You’re gonna snap eventually.
Is it getting tough?
Still holding it together?
And what, you think you’re delivering today?
Come on, we can't wait forever.

Everyone head out at 3 PM sharp. 😠

I'm officially ghosting everyone.

So Foresst, did you finally pop? 😁 Just kidding, lady. My sister keeps bugging me because she’s bored, asking when I'm gonna have the baby. Like, what does she think is gonna happen? Magic? It’s not like I’ll be heading straight from the hospital to the local zoo with a newborn... My mom’s been on my case lately too, which honestly helps, she even sends over lunch sometimes, but how am I supposed to tell her she can't just move in for a month once I'm home or when things get busy... I'm definitely not the first person to be stuck at home with a tiny infant...

I have this coworker who is infinitely irritating—an incompetent mess who constantly tries to micromanage everyone else's business, yet her kid is always getting sick on Mondays and Fridays so she can skip work, even though the kid is already in sixth grade. When she was four months pregnant, she told me she was having a boy. I told her, "No, it's a girl." She actually responded by saying, "Well, boys kiss their moms more, whereas girls tend to be difficult; it's just the hormones." 😲
I honestly don't know how someone can be that dense, especially since she's highly educated and relatively young. Even if I were "difficult" as she puts it, what does that have to do with gender? Talk to the hand, you clueless woman.

Or whatever: How far along are you now?
Me: I’m basically at 7 months already... though how that’s so fast is beyond me, since I've only got about 3 months left. That's barely even 6.🙄
Not that I bother explaining things to idiots.🤣

The closer the deadline gets, the more my patience wears thin. It’s always the same thing—women playing dumb, women obsessing over bellies or weight, or those same girls constantly trying to tell me my guy is "the one" when he’s definitely not...

Today’s highlight was this waitress who gave me this massive side-eye when I ordered coffee, just to tell me they don't have decaf. I told her, "Relax, I didn't ask for decaf, just give me a regular one." Honestly, I almost wanted to splash a shot of whiskey in her face.

And don't even get me started on pregnant women at the beach, just sitting there in soaking wet bikinis acting like nothing matters.
To be fair, I’m mostly just jealous because if I stayed out there for even 15 minutes,
I'd end up with a bladder infection from being in a wet swimsuit.

And when you bring up beer... it’s immediately "make it non-alcoholic." That's always the move. Honestly, it's like people think a standard 4% brew is some kind of baby formula.

Precisely. It’s just as grating for me. I’ll order a Coke and immediately get hit with: "Oh, I couldn't have carbonation, I didn't drink bubbles while pregnant," and so on and so forth.🙄

Or it's when you're eating something and they hit you with the "that's so unhealthy" line. A friend of mine actually gave me a hard time the other day because I've put on ten pounds. She told me, "You'll probably end up gaining fifteen, that's way too much." So I just shut it down. Told her I'll be the one losing the weight, not her. That was while I was happily eating a slice of pizza. Whatever.🙄

It drives me absolutely insane watching people obsess over what pregnant women can or can’t eat and drink... just back off!! I couldn't care less about what’s considered "healthy" or what’s "too much" of this or that—nothing is actually healthy or natural anymore anyway!
I'm going to eat and drink whatever the hell I want, and honestly, I'm just happy to finally be able to stomach anything after spending half my pregnancy feeling like I was constantly on the verge of puking at the mere thought of food..

Seriously, Coca-Cola is basically treated like a drug around here. Everyone acts like it's forbidden, yet they'll happily eat fruit and veggies covered in pesticides like it's nothing.
I honestly can't even remember how much everyone hovered over my plate and judged my diet when I first started,
but I haven't let anyone comment on my food or my weight for a long time now.
Either way, seeing people act up about coffee today really pissed me off. Good thing I've got a place to blow off steam.

So, I just got blindsided by some mom pushing a stroller with what looked like a two-year-old in it.
She wasn't even looking where she was going—completely turned the other way—and ended up slamming the handlebar right into me, scraping my leg while her kid nearly tumbled out of the seat.
Of course, she didn't even notice me; she didn't realize she’d done anything wrong at all. She didn't even offer an apology, she just turned her head back the other way and kept on walking.
I was left feeling totally 😲😲 I didn't even have time to react, and honestly, I sat there wondering what I could possibly even say to someone like that.
I just told my husband that if I ever pull something like that, he should feel free to call me out publicly.

Yeah, "we have time"—exactly. But what they don't realize, and honestly won't ever understand, is that regardless of how much time you technically have left before delivery, there are certain things you simply cannot do anymore. Period. 😠
I'm sitting here watching 'So You Think You Can Dance' and admiring how effortlessly people move. Meanwhile, I consider it a massive victory if I manage to pull myself off the floor, given all the discomfort and aches 😠 Everyone else looks like a gazelle—so graceful and agile 🤣 I can't even remember what it felt like to bend down to pick something up without running through a mental checklist of how to execute the move with minimal pain or irritation. You can't really explain it to someone who hasn't lived it... I wouldn't have believed it if someone had told me either 🤣 They'd probably think it couldn't possibly be *that* bad—but now I know better 😉

As for me, I've been losing my mind because we moved a few weeks ago, and in my head, everything—the house, the furniture, the gear, the tiny clothes—would be totally set by the eighth month. At this point, considering my luck, getting the laundry done is a major accomplishment, let alone vacuuming the house (which, naturally, requires about three breaks) 😬

I was in San Francisco this past Thursday, and honestly, I couldn't believe it—in absolutely every single store, people just let me cut right ahead of them, or even the cashiers called me up to skip the line! I spent the entire drive home lecturing my husband about it: you see what life is like in North America, compared to the chaos back in the Middle East...

If you need some solidarity, we got the keys to our place last August. We planned to move by late October or November. Last November, I told my husband, "Look, I'm pregnant. I won't be able to handle a move when I'm six months along; it's going to get too hard." He just laughed it off, saying, "Come on, we aren't moving that late. We'll be in the new place before Christmas!" Needless to say, he hadn't even started working on anything by mid-January (he actually built the kitchen himself with a friend). I imagined celebrating a birthday in our own home in April and growing a bunch of plants on the terrace. Instead, I ended up heading to the hospital. Luckily, I was only there for a week, mostly because he didn't lift a finger until after I gave birth. Then his logic was that once I delivered, he’d still have at least three days to finish everything. After the birth, he spent a month complaining about the move and doing a bit of cleaning (we ended up hiring a professional cleaner who scrubbed the whole place for five hours—bless her soul). So, I came home from the hospital to a new apartment, and the very first thing I did was try to put sheets on the bed and the crib, because everything was just sitting there in bags I had packed and labeled before leaving for the hospital. Of course, he had no idea what was in any of them. Two months later, a mountain of our stuff is still sitting at my sister's house. In the kitchen, the countertop isn't even secured to the wall yet, and the dishwasher is just sitting there unanchored, though it works. The living room cabinet doesn't even have doors, and we don't have the cash to fix it right now, but whatever—at least we moved in. Honestly, I don't stress over it, not even the lack of money. My hormones drive me in a completely different direction. Once you have the baby, none of this matters.
