Yeah, everyone was busy working the fields or doing manual labor; nobody had the chance to go to college or even live in a major city... if you can believe that.
It’s just those old ladies who never actually lived in a city trying to lecture everyone else on how life works.🤣

And man, I gotta mention all those judgmental old ladies constantly digging into my business while I was pregnant. Like, seriously? It's like they think every pregnant woman forty years ago was out there tilling fields or something... was the whole country just one giant farm back then or what?! 😕

Honestly, once you actually become a mom, things don't get any easier—you just have to endure a way longer stretch of listening to that kind of mindless, nasty commentary... I'm a brand new mom and I've already heard enough nonsense to last a lifetime. It's exhausting.👎

yeah... unfortunately
I guess some girls who get pregnant easily don't even realize what a massive stroke of luck they actually had...🤷

Oh, and it just hit me—something that used to drive me absolutely insane—back when women would interrogate me about how much weight I’d put on... like, as if anyone actually cares... 👎

It drives me absolutely crazy too...
I honestly feel like no matter what I say, they'll just snap back with, "Oh, that's a lot! I only gained a little bit!"

And then they start grilling you about how much weight you dropped, right? Like, "How much more do you have to lose just to get back to where you started?"
I’ve got a bad feeling I’m gonna be hearing that exact same thing.

So yeah, that’s probably the exact scenario playing out,
I don't know, I'm still stuck in two different mindsets at once...

It drives me absolutely insane when the clock hits midnight. Every single damn day, right at that moment, I get hit with these random cravings... For weeks, it was nothing but a greasy cheeseburger. During the day, I don't even think about food, but the second it turns midnight, my brain snaps and demands a snack—of course, there’s never anything in the pantry.
It’s getting seriously ridiculous.
Now, for instance, I’m sitting here dying for some French fries. I don't even like potatoes; I buy them maybe once a year just to make some dumplings, yet here I am wanting fries, so yeah 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

I honestly have to get this off my chest because I am just so incredibly fed up with all these old-school women who act like they were some kind of domestic goddesses during pregnancy, constantly working themselves to the bone and doing heavy labor like it was nothing... as if that’s somehow an achievement? They think they were being "strong," but let's be real—they had no idea what they were actually doing, and isn't it obvious why infant mortality rates were so terrifyingly high back then? It was because people weren't informed and simply didn't know any better, which meant way too many babies didn't make it through those early days 😢 I mean, look at my mother-in-law for example; she’s the type who works herself ragged from sunrise to sunset and always feels the need to lecture everyone else, but honestly, she should probably just keep her mouth shut since she was just as clueless when she had her first kid—she actually went into labor while she was out in the field on a John Deere tractor instead of heading to the hospital! And then, tragically, her second child didn't even survive their first five days 😢 So, please, go ahead and let those types brag all you want, but in my eyes, they were just being reckless 🙂

As if—nobody asks those questions now, since I managed to drop all the weight in the first month alone😂

I don't buy the whole "back-breaking labor" myth for a second. They’d just duck out to the vineyard and nap under a peach tree to avoid doing the laundry by hand at home.

Either our pain tolerance has somehow plummeted—like, how is it that we struggle through pregnancy just to dig a simple well—or back then, women were literally giving birth in the middle of the field while switching out an exhausted ox or hauling a plow.
You can think what you want.
Sure, some of them probably worked their tails off, but I bet they also covered for each other, whispering about how hard life was when it wasn't actually that bad. If you repeat a lie loud enough and long enough, eventually everyone just accepts it as gospel.😁

My recent grocery store runs have been nothing short of infuriating. I swung by Target yesterday right after work around 8:30 PM, and it was like a dam had burst; the place was absolutely swamped. To top it all off, I’m twenty-four weeks pregnant, standing there in what felt like an endless line, when some lady—the undisputed queen of entitlement—cuts right past everyone else just to hover over me and demand if I’m going to let her go ahead.
As if I were in any kind of rush... she really needs to slow down and chill out. 🙂

Oh, please, don't even get me started on all that heavy yard work and digging around.. 🤣 I can barely manage to pick up a single stray sock off the floor to carry it over to the patio just to hang up the laundry 🤣
...And you know what really gets under my skin? It’s when someone asks how I’m doing, and I try to be honest—like, I'll say everything is wonderful, truly, but then I'll mention that my back is acting up a bit or that I haven't been sleeping great lately.. and then comes that inevitable response: "Oh, well, you know, it's just because you're pregnant, what else could it be?" I mean, seriously, wtf 😕

I tell everyone I'm doing just fine. I don't like to complain, because then you get those people starting in with the whole "back in the day" routine. They start preaching about how tough our ancestors were—how they’d spend all day out in the fields, working the soil, and women would just go into labor right there on the farm. Apparently, they'd just deliver the baby and immediately get back to digging. It's exhausting.🤦
At the very least. 😱

all they did was go oral and dig😂
it’s like, one after another, they all gave birth under some bush or just crouched down right there in the front row and kept digging🤷

And what were they even digging up—the ones that gave birth in the dead of winter?
They were probably just splitting firewood...
Or maybe they were out there clearing ice and snow off the roads instead of using plows, just so the horses wouldn't struggle as much.😁

Nicholas Doyle91 said:So, I had this little win today—I actually got caught by a transit officer on the subway, but instead of slapping me with a ticket, she just let it slide! She told me to just take the money and put it toward my baby, and then, of course, she ended up giving me the whole life story about her family 😁

When did we stop being friends? I had an inspection too, and as I went to grab my pass, she just looked at me and said, "You're good" 🙂.

Sarah Harris5 said:Honestly, nothing gets under my skin faster than pregnant women who act like they aren't even carrying a human being. They’re out here smoking, drinking way too much, riding motorcycles, hitting up tanning salons, and rocking massive stilettos right up until the delivery room like, "Oh, this isn't happening." Then they wait until the last second to take off their jewelry and wonder why the jeweler can't resize everything instantly, or they start making crazy plans about not taking the baby home in an Uber or whatever. It’s wild because there are so many women out there struggling just to conceive, yet these ones are out here gambling with it every single day!!
Ugh, I just had to vent somewhere.

Fine, I'll give you the smoking and alcohol thing (even though I smoke too, albeit less now, and maybe have a beer once a month), but what's the big deal with high heels?

It was right when we parted ways—they walked into the station just past Knight and headed straight toward me near the JPMorgan Chase... but I was totally lost in my own head and didn't even notice them coming. 😁Honestly, I got lucky because they were just two really sweet ladies...

Exactly.
And they were pulling heavy physical shifts all through the winter, too.
Not like we do today.

Honestly, it really bugs me when people poke at my belly and say, "It’s going to be a boy."
I mean, sure, it might be, but wtf? What does that even matter—whether it's a girl or a guy?
Both my husband and I couldn't care less; we are just counting down the days until this baby is here, and we’re going to love them just as much regardless of gender because they're ours.
It feels like everyone is just flattering us—like the old-fashioned way where they say, "Oh, you'll have a son!"
To my husband, it's like, "Congrats on making a son," and to me, it's "Congrats, you're having a son."
It irritates me that my kid is being judged by gender before they've even been born.
And let's be real, the ones doing most of that gender-based judging are women 95% of the time.

I had to laugh watching those ladies patting each other on the back, acting like they were geniuses for "guessing" it was a boy just because of the shape of the belly button
