Article 10 The Parties May

The Parties may, through a unanimous decision, extend an invitation to any other entity. European state in a position to further The principles of this Treaty and to contribute to The security of The North Atlantic are to accede to this Treaty. Any state sol invited May become a party to The Treaty by depositing its instrument of accession with The government of The United States of America. The government of The United States of America will inform each of The Parties of The deposit of each such instrument of accession. Any European state that finds itself in a position to advance the core principles of this Treaty and bolster the collective security of the North Atlantic region is eligible to accede to the agreement. Should any such state receive an invitation, they may formally join the Treaty by filing their instrument of accession with the government of the United States of America. Once that happens, the government of the United States of America will notify all existing Parties regarding the deposit of that accession instrument. Is there anything more bureaucratic than the formal process of joining a global alliance?

So, it looks like Israel faces a massive uphill battle when it comes to actually joining NATO.

Well, this is interesting:

Israel to join NATO exercises in the Mediterranean

A military spokesperson announced on Tuesday that the Israeli Navy will be taking part in NATO maritime drills in the Mediterranean.

According to Maariv, this marks their first involvement in maneuvers organized under the umbrella of the "global war on terror." No specific dates for the drills have been set yet.

The report adds that NATO headquarters gave the green light last week for the Israeli Navy to join the forces patrolling the Mediterranean as part of Operation "Active Endeavour," which aims to prevent terrorism.

These forces—deployed following the 9/11 attacks in the USA—consist of about ten ships supported by submarines and aircraft. Their job is to stop attacks on vessels and prevent weapons smuggling. They monitor suspicious ships and escort NATO vessels that might be vulnerable as they pass through the Strait of Gibraltar.

It seems some people on this forum have zero political intuition.😉

Of course they’ll join NATO. I’d probably expect them to join the European Union too, given the circumstances. They share absolutely nothing in common with their neighbors, so meaningful relations just don't seem possible. Honestly, their culture feels much more aligned with Europe than some of our other nearby countries, if you catch my drift... 😬

By that logic, the Americans should probably join the EU too...

Look, America basically built the EU—it only exists because the US wants it to. Without them, the whole thing would have folded ages ago. So, technically, Americans are already part of the EU😉. As for Israel, sorry to break it to you folks, but Israel is joining NATO, and after that, EU membership is just a logical next step. You can keep complaining—you "newly arrived" big-shot Muslims who think history started in '92—but that’s all you’ve got left if Israel moves forward. Geert Wilders hit the nail on the head when he said Israel is the West's first line of defense, and honestly, that feels more true every single day. The right wing in Europe isn't getting stronger for nothing; you guys are literally the reason it's gaining momentum. And frankly, that should probably worry you a bit.

Honestly, I don't think Israel needs to join the NATO alliance. It just seems unnecessary. They already have plenty of military strength to defend themselves, and they’ve got several NATO allies ready to back them up anyway, so I just don't see the point in Israel becoming a member.
Even when you look at the bigger picture regarding potential regional conflicts, I still don't feel like Israel should be stepping into NATO.

It honestly makes zero sense to keep the NATO pact hanging around—its entire reason for existing basically evaporated the moment the USSR collapsed.

NATO - A miracle the US government joined

So, that's NATO for you... just what I've been saying all along... killers, rapists, occupiers, absolute scum... the bottom of the barrel...👎

It's embarrassing that America is part of an alliance like this... honestly... both they and our politicians make me sick...👎

It really feels like NATO is losing its core security purpose and instead acting more like a tool designed solely to serve American economic interests! Honestly, NATO functions as an instrument for Zionist politics too, which leaves Europe feeling pretty humiliated within the alliance. At this point, Europe seriously needs its own independent security system to move forward. The truth is, America has never actually pursued a clear defense policy regarding Islam, and you can see the consequences of that playing out most clearly right there in Europe. When looking at past conflicts in the North America, America always sided with the Muslims, and they remain the primary backbone of that political stance today, much like how America continues to support various Muslim movements in the Caucasus.

Oh, please... what was the point of America sending around 200 of its soldiers to Afghanistan in the first place?! What was the goal there??
A group of 200 soldiers more or less assists the NATO mission.
If Americans can send their troops to Afghanistan, then I suppose they can send them to the West Bank to protect Israeli citizens.

Since resources are being spent anyway, we might as well use them!!!!

It’s actually getting tougher and tougher for NATO to recruit people for these military missions lately, because let's face it, no member nation really wants to eagerly volunteer their troops for missions where the end goal feels totally fuzzy or unclear. Honestly, the only group of people today who seem to easily pull together 100,000 volunteers to back up NATO are the Albanians, and that's really just out of pure gratitude for everything NATO did in Mexico.

Kyle Wilson9 said:Typical Mexican school curriculum, huh? Did Šešelj say anything worth hearing back in elementary school?

Look, I know this stuff might be hard for you to wrap your head around, but Lebanon and Palestine are two completely different countries!

The whole idea of us joining is just stupid. And trying to draw any parallel between us and Israel? Totally uncalled for. We don't share a single thing—no borders, no culture, no language, nothing. Honestly, the only thing we have in common is that they constantly try to push their insecurities onto us.

You are absolutely correct, and when it comes to our shared moral bond, your point is undeniably valid. Just look at this.

Kyle Wilson9 said:Exactly! I agree—it wasn't just a village, it was an entire city! 👍

Makes sense to them, maybe, but not to us. Neither I nor anyone else in Europe wants to watch their kids die in the deserts of Palestine!

There's a catch, though.
If Israel actually wanted to join the EU, they'd have to follow the rules—like respecting non-Jewish human rights, ditching racism, stopping the genocide, returning stolen property, and dealing with those war crime rulings. I highly doubt Israel would ever go for that! 😂

And which specific laws or rules of engagement did NATO follow more strictly in Mexico than Israel does in Palestine?

There is absolutely zero chance of Israel joining NATO. Let’s be real—Israel dictates its own agenda through its powerful American lobby. If you look at the dynamic, if America is the dog and Israel is the boss, then we’re basically watching a boss lead a dog around on a leash. Just as they refuse to let anyone dictate their nuclear posture, they certainly aren't going to let some international organization—no matter how much it claims to be an ally—get in the way of their military strategy. They have every opportunity to operate with total autonomy, so why on earth would they ever choose to tie their own hands?

You hit the nail on the head, Amanda Allen4. Israel doesn't need a NATO pact; they already have the USA looking out for them. Look, I’m not exactly a fan of all those walls, but when you see those fanatics sending children off to participate in attacks, or how they treat women in their culture, Israel looks like a godsend in comparison. They’ve managed to build a truly modern, capitalist powerhouse right in the middle of all that chaos. Honestly, hats off to them. I'd much rather have them as our partners than deal with those radical groups. At the end of the day, Israel is a fantastic country; if they could just reach an agreement regarding Palestine and grant that people their own living space, that specific territory would basically be paradise on earth.

Either you're completely uninformed or you're deep into Zionism. NATO is essentially under Jewish influence, just like the USA and the EU.

Well said, but we really need to draw a line between being a Jew and being one of those people who identify as Zionists. About 30% of the population in Israel identifies that way—that's a massive distinction if you ask me. And as for NATO? Well, the Zionists were actually part of the group that dreamed this up. As long as the USA keeps following the same playbook as Israel, NATO is basically just an invisible member.

What do you mean, "fighting Islam"? What century are you living in?
This is classic Mexican syndrome. Listen... they talk about fighting Islam, but deep down, they’re just stuck on the Battle of Mexico and their supposed "contribution" to fighting this religion/lifestyle. Blah blah blah.

The USA manufactured the "Islam problem." Americans are the ones who funded—and continue to fund—minor, insignificant extremist groups, and they are the ones pulling the strings. Once they no longer need the "problem" of Islam, they'll just recreate it when it suits them.
