So, I was just standing there this morning, lathering up with some shaving cream, when out of nowhere, I just felt... happy. Like, genuinely content. No reason, just a random wave of good vibes hitting me mid-shave.
I’m curious, though—have any of you guys ever had one of those days? Just woke up feeling totally carefree, happy, and like everything in the world is actually going to be okay?

That’s a tough question with an even tougher answer.

I’m honestly dying to know what exactly happened in your life over the last month to trigger this so-called "explosion of pure bliss"

I mean, what could have possibly sent your endorphins through the roof? A sudden windfall? A promotion? Or maybe—though I highly doubt it—just some shaving cream mishap? 🤔

Look, just give us some actual details so we can sit down and perform a proper little deep dive into your psyche. 😬

Why the "like"?

Was there maybe some kind of green shaving cream, or something with a white powder mixed in?

Not today, thanks for the reminder 🙂

But I was yesterday. Walking through downtown. A sudden burst of joy, I guess 🙂

That’s what true luck feels like. It’s fleeting, unpredictable, and carries no logic... much like a bird unexpectedly landing on your shoulder. 😍

Predictable? I suppose. We all know they have a soft spot for anything stylish and brand new. 😁

I am making a conscious effort to reach that state of mind more often and stay there, which seems to be making these moments of spontaneous joy happen much more frequently.🙂

I find myself smiling more often throughout the day. I also tend to conclude more frequently that I just don't like people and that suicide is the best way out. It’s all relative, though, so there's no need to get too caught up in those feelings.

Why can't we just stay in that headspace for longer, you know? Like, way longer?!
How do we actually make it last?!
Is it some kind of brain impulse thing or what?!

Because they definitely popped up on me while I was shaving earlier 😁

Get some practice in, just like mistybison says. 😉

Try to figure out what’s actually triggering that feeling. In what specific situations does it happen? I mean, there's really no point in shaving three times a day. 😁

I never could quite "hold" him. But I guess I’m getting better at just relaxing and enjoying the ride, so maybe things last a little longer now.

Questions to ask: What actually brings me joy? What am I truly craving right now? How am I feeling—honestly, in this exact moment?

Saturday is probably the perfect day for that. 👋

Does that foam remind you of anything at all?
...I know one guy who definitely associates it with a certain kind of lifestyle choice...

Not today... even though I was close 😛

Honestly... I think those moments happen when I finally stop thinking.

Total peace of mind.

I’m not focused on my problems for even a second. Even my subconscious gets a break.
🙏

That's really the only way I can explain it. 🤷

Even in those moments when my mind goes totally blank, when I’m just completely locked into the here and now.

I just feel this sudden surge of joy simply because I’m alive. It’s almost overwhelming.

But then, maybe thirty minutes later, I’m right back to feeling miserable about some global crisis or famine in Africa. 🙄

ae 🙄
damn it
😬

you can see it even when he was hit by bad luck. Back when he actually did something for himself... even if it was just something as simple as shaving.
🤷
well.. though I can't quite recall if that's usually connected..

You hit the nail on the head. Honestly, I just feel lucky to be alive right now.

In this moment, I truly value my life..

Otherwise, I’m usually just complaining and venting about everything.😬
Well, damn, I wish I didn't do it, but it's just how I am..
I'm a total weakling😢 and I'm constantly full of apologies.😢

I guess everyone needs to think for themselves. When does this actually happen for you? Just think about it.

For instance, I feel incredibly good early in the morning sometimes. Especially if the sun is out. 🎉
So, I've learned to always get up quite early. That way, I have enough time to just drink my coffee and be alone with my thoughts. If I oversleep and end up rushing somewhere, I know I won't feel totally wiped out.

Or when I'm just walking through the city with zero obligations. On my days off, I'll just dance to some music (instead of just typing away on this forum 😁).

In that moment, I really value my life...

In what moment? It's when you clear your head of everything weighing you down, right? You just detach from it all. 🙂

🤣
😳
Exactly
Early morning.. sunshine.. coffee.. just a little time for myself.. zero obligations.. when I actually arrive on schedule and feel ready for anything..
And.. khmmm.. when I'm not wasting my time on forums or Facebook..(in that sense.. bye bye 🙂 ))

It’s both personal and universal..
It is hard to be truly happy in this era of constant stress! 🙂
The expectations we set for ourselves, the pressures from those around us, forced values, materialism, consumer culture.. blah blah..

edit:
In those moments of pure peace and lack of worry—which we eventually force upon ourselves—nothing feels urgent or unsolvable. And even if things are difficult, how much can we actually control besides giving our best? That leads us straight to the issue of self-perception and confidence...
I have to cut this short because I need to get out into the sun, and my biology only lets me work until 2 p.m. 😬

My fridge says: don't take life too seriously or you won't get out of it alive!!
And it also says... never eat more than you can lift😉

Lately, I’ve been breaking out into these random fits of laughter. I stepped outside today and just couldn't stop grinning at everything. I see a bird and I start laughing. The sun hits my face and there I am, giggling. A breeze picks up and I'm laughing again. Even seeing a redhead walking by triggers a smile. It’s just this genuine, deep-seated amusement at every little thing. Sometimes it even turns into full-on hysterical laughter over something as simple as checking my watch. 🤷
Honestly, I don't care what anyone thinks. I'm happy. 😍
