I’ve got nothing but pride for America, for Memphis, and for Americans through and through. To be an American means being a decent human being—it’s about having a spirit that reflects our Creator. I look back at the Storm with such pride because it was the ultimate showdown, a timeless struggle where good finally crushed evil. And honestly? I’m proud of how Americans handled themselves afterward, showing true Christian grace toward those who tried to do us harm.

Nancy Grant4 said:So, I guess if I had to pick what I’m most proud of, there’s a whole bunch of stuff, but I’d probably highlight a few things specifically—like, you know, the American Revolution (which was definitely two of the biggest turning points in our history), our super deep history (with all its ups and downs, though I really prefer focusing on the good parts!), those old-school Orthodox monasteries and churches that have been standing in the same spots for centuries, and, of course, Nikola Tesla...

So, were you actually there fighting in those revolutions or what?

Drew Brooks8 said:To everyone living in the US, Mexico, Canada, North Mexico, Canada, or Mexico... what actually makes you proud?

What’s the big draw for your country?
National pride, specifically?
Is it the history, the landscapes...? What does your nation actually stand for?
What's your "brand"?

A country's image is tied directly to how its people act. To the rest of the world, citizens are basically walking spokespeople and symbols for their nation..

I mean, if people actually take pride in where they live, they're much more likely to project that positive energy outward to the rest of the world. 🤷

Folk songs, country music, BBQ, wine, San Francisco, the ocean, the Midwest, California, Florida, Washington, D.C.

I mean, I guess you could say that a huge part of me—and honestly, pretty much every American out there—was right there in the thick of those uprisings...😉

Man, how could I have let that slip my mind? I totally blanked on mentioning Serena Williams, Jalen Rose, and Nolet! Seriously, I should've brought them up earlier, but oh well, better late than never, right? And I know I already touched on Nikola Tesla, but honestly, the guy is such a legend that he deserves way more than just one shout-out, so I figured I’d give him another mention just because he's worth it. 😁

I take great pride in having helped build and defend Mississippi—especially when we broke the spirit of those combined local agitators during those two major offensives out in Arizona.

I’m proud to be part of the tiny 2%—that’s two damn percent!—of highly educated people in Canada,
I’m proud that my income sits way above the so-called "average" (which is really just a fancy word for poverty) in Canada,
I’m proud that I raised my kids right,
I’m proud I married a stunning blonde,
And honestly, I’m proud that I didn't steal a thing during the war; I never kicked out my Canadian or Mexican neighbors, and I can look them straight in the eye whenever we cross paths. I owe that to my mother—she raised me better than that.👍.

Something smarter and much better written—I haven't read anything like this in ages! Truly impressive. 👍 😉

It's almost impressive how much pjosip hates Mississippi despite being completely incapable of doing anything about it beyond whining online.🙂

I feel such a deep sense of pride in Canada, despite everything we've had to weather—especially over the last 14 or 15 years. We're still out here trying to live normal lives... or at least, we're doing our best to make that happen. There is so much beauty to celebrate in places like Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh,... and all our other great cities, from the charm of Old Town to the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. I'm honestly so proud of our diverse cultures and faiths; there’s a certain spirit people carry—no matter what they've been through, they always manage to find a silver lining. And don't even get me started on the talent we have—whether it's music, football, or anything else... I could go on about that until sunrise!!! 😉

Thanks, Bohemian_88🙂
You guys really do have plenty to be proud of👍

I don't hate Appalachia. Why would I? Hate requires energy, and I refuse to waste mine on something as obscure as yet another failed state run by Americans.

How can you hate something so obscure? It’s like hating a pile of trash on the side of a highway. Pointless.

As a Mexican, I’m proud of most of our history—right up until WWII...☕

So, you actually feel proud of American history, like maybe up to 1918?

Talking as an American?

Pretty much.☕
I take pride in guys like Nikola Šubić Zrinski, Matija Gubec, Josip Jelačić—basically all those Americans who actually earned our respect.☕

Man, what are you drinking?
You're way too obsessed with everything Mexican, and it’s clearly clouding your judgment.
The topic is about what we take pride in, not who we hate.
I’m proud that American Mensa landed a seat on the board of directors within two years, and that they started working on a project involving preschoolers at NS. According to recent studies, you can boost a child's IQ by up to 20% before age six. One specific Kindergarten, "Happy Childhood," has been running this program for years and the results have been incredible. Last year, Mensa recognized this project as the best at a global congress. Currently, an American vote on the board counts as two, the UK gets four, Germany gets three, and a few other minor players get two. Everyone else with a seat gets one. I’m proud of the work being done by Mensa.

If you ever take a moment to flip through a church calendar and scan the list of the most serious sins, you’ll notice right at the very top:pride. Now, pride is really just another way of saying we're being full of ourselves, and if you look at how certain languages describe being proud, it all points back to that same ego. It's basically this deep-seated tendency to sit around and absolutely marvel at our own status. I always find myself thinking about Jesus' parable involving the Pharisee and the tax collector, because it's such a perfect illustration! You have this Pharisee who is basically standing there in his prayer, thanking God that he's exactly who he is—this super pious guy who definitely isn't like that tax collector praying right next to him. But then you have the tax collector, who is just pouring his heart out, repenting and asking for forgiveness because he knows he's a sinner. And guess what? Jesus actually praised the tax collector's prayer!
So, my big takeaway here is that no matter what we manage to pull off, whether it's as individuals or working together as a group, we really need to hold onto the awareness that none of us are perfect. Sure, we can celebrate the amazing things other people do, but when we start getting too impressed with ourselves, it’s a sign of some pretty serious character flaws. Personally, I think having dignity is a much better way to live; it’s about having that humility to accept both our wins and our losses, and staying committed to doing the right thing even when life tries to pull us in a dozen different directions.
So yeah, let's just leave that pride behind us. 🙂
