Should we release the journalist who threw a shoe at Bush?

Pretty brave move, but honestly just plain stupid—he basically just gambled his entire future away on this one. If he’d actually bothered to read some David Icke, he would've realized that Bush is nothing more than a bottom-feeder who isn't going to be nearly as bothered by a boot to the face as people think. 😁

That journalist is definitely going to pay a heavy price for this stunt, though I bet he’ll end up walking away as the winner in the end.

It’s easy to mess around and troll Bush because Bush is actually used to dealing with "human rights" nonsense. You can protest, you can comment, you can demand a release, and you might even end up in court for a few months or just walk free. Whatever. 😳 Who knows, maybe this was actually a career move for the guy. Once he gets out, he’ll probably be the biggest celebrity in Iraq, maybe even start his own political party. 🙂

As if! A "major celebrity" with broken ribs who might end up in a wheelchair. And heaven forbid they actually beat him so severely that he suffers brain damage; you know, brain damage doesn't always manifest immediately.

Look, I’ll concede the journalist is a big shot. But what you're saying about Bush—that is highly, highly debatable. Honestly, I can't speak authoritatively on things I don't fully grasp. People call Bush a tyrant. The media supposedly rails against him. But he holds the power. And those with power usually pull the strings of the media. If he really were a tyrant, why wouldn't he just shut down the negative press? In this specific instance, it almost seems like Bush is behaving like a gentleman. Even here in the States, the papers are criticizing him. Let's not be naive. Do you honestly believe our major news outlets aren't just following orders handed down from the U.S. Embassy?!🙏

The authorities must provide the public with a pressure valve for their emotions. It is one thing when the media critiques Bush or anyone of his ilk, but it is an entirely different matter when actual events unfold and when people are given concrete instructions on how to protect themselves from the steady erosion of civil liberties. Do not be afraid; in a few years, we won't even be allowed to speak critically of our leaders, and if this trajectory continues, democracy will be completely abolished within ten or fifteen years. We will face nothing less than an overt autocracy.

And yes... Bush is certainly deserving of all the contempt directed toward him, considering the immense loss of civilian life and the destruction of the Iraqi museum, which housed priceless treasures that were lost forever due to the barbaric act of bombing such a site. Everything that had been gathered over countless years, everything that had remained hidden in that land for hundreds and thousands of years, was wiped out in mere hours. Just look at the reality of it now.

I must say, I feel a certain sense of satisfaction that a journalist like that fellow (I can’t quite recall his name, 😁) actually possessed the sheer nerve to stand up to the most powerful man imaginable, Bush—and even more impressively, he did it with a shoe, nearly catching Bush right in the face 😁
While I suppose many of those big journalistic institutions might argue that such a stunt was a way for him to manufacture fame, I honestly don't think that matters much, especially not when we are currently grappling with this massive financial crisis, rising inflation, the soaring cost of living, terrorism, youth violence, police brutality, and all these constant protests, strikes, and social unrest... there's just so much going on, ugh... 🙂
Apparently, this "shoe-throwing journalist" was allegedly beaten by Iraqi security services and is being pressured to apologize and admit fault, and I heard that either the shoe or part of it was destroyed during forensic testing just to check if there was some kind of explosive hidden inside 😁

I must say, I have to admit that Bush handled that situation quite impressively; he dodged that attempt with such lightning speed, it almost felt as though he knew exactly what was coming. It honestly seemed as if Bush and the reporter had struck some sort of secret deal beforehand: "Hey kid, you can take a swing at my shoes, and in exchange, I’ll toss you a five-dollar bill along with a Hershey bar, okay? Just make sure you don't actually hit me, or I might have to break your arms, understood? And hey, don't look so terrified! Let's go... oh, wait, little guy, don't forget to wear your most fragrant sneakers and give them a good scrub first!" 😁

In almost any other country, they’d just hand him a fine. He’d pay it, become some kind of local celebrity, and make a fortune acting like a hero who did something meaningful for his nation.
