Hey everyone.
Been dealing with depression for a long time now. Currently on Lexapro and taking Xanax when needed.

I heard recently that some vitamins shouldn't be taken alongside antidepressants. I take a daily multivitamin—just one pill a day like the label says. Started doing it because I read vitamin b complex is good for people under a lot of stress. What’s your take? You guys take vitamins?

Yes, particularly regarding the vitamin b complex 😁

Maybe you should just check with your doctor or actually read the fine print on the label? I mean, we aren't pharmacists or anything; we’re really just amateur poison testers at best.

A vitamin b complex is definitely worth considering for nerve support. You can pick one up at any local pharmacy, and it's perfectly fine to take it while on antidepressants.

I personally skip it. It really ramps up my appetite, and honestly, I'm a little worried about packing on more weight. 😲 I’m already struggling enough with my weight as it is. 😢

If this isn't allowed, please excuse me and feel free to delete the post—I just heard that lithium can help alleviate depression.

Look, it’s not some illegal substance—lithium carbonate is a perfectly legitimate prescription medication. It’s most commonly prescribed for managing manic depression, though I suppose doctors sometimes toss it into the mix for other types of anxiety and depressive disorders too.

Anyway, it’s a seriously "heavy-duty" psychotropic drug, if you want to call it that. 😉

As for the actual topic at hand—it's honestly a total non-sequitur to suggest that dietary supplements, like vitamins, could somehow harm someone who is currently on antidepressants.

Why not try some St. John's Wort, valerian, or something like that?

Look, don't go mixing your antidepressants with a handful of vitamin b complex, C, D, and E while you're busy crunching on some raw carrots, because honestly, you might just choke to death right then and there, and what happens if there isn't anyone nearby who actually knows how to perform the Heimlich maneuver? 😲

Whoa, hold up. You definitely don't mix that stuff with antidepressants.

I have personally navigated the trifecta of antidepressants, alcohol, and marijuana all at once, and frankly, I felt perfectly fine; my tolerance levels are such that neither the cannabis nor the medication ever seemed to make a significant dent in my baseline state, given my specific constitution, so I find it highly improbable that these vitamins would cause you any meaningful harm, lol

Mixing alcohol, weed, and antidepressants? That’s a recipe for a complete mental meltdown. But honestly, even if you ditch the meds, you're still playing with fire. I’ll say it again for the people in the back: trying to mix "natural" herbal remedies with prescription antidepressants is a losing game—they just don't play nice together. If you actually want to support your brain, you should be looking into Omega-3 fatty acids instead.

Out of those three options, marijuana was the only thing that provided even a modicum of relief, offering a slight sense of calm and mental clarity; however, let’s be honest—when you are reaching that level of sheer, unadulterated tension where absolutely everything grates on your nerves and your anxiety is redlining, all those supplements and pills are nothing more than expensive garbage.

Look, I’m definitely feeling the tension too, but I’m way more level-headed about it. And there is absolutely no way in hell I’d ever mix that stuff with opioids.

Why are you guys even bothering with those vitamin pills? Honestly, they’re pretty gross...

What's so hard about just fixing your diet? Swap out the potato chips for some sunflower seeds, or grab an apple instead of a cookie...

Back then, I couldn't have given a damn about any of that nonsense, and as far as intoxicants are concerned, I wouldn't dream of touching anything other than weed...

Man, I really can't stand sunflower seeds. They’re just way too salty for my liking, and honestly, I haven't figured out a decent way to snack on them without feeling like I'm consuming pure sodium.

Oh please, who are you even talking to here?

You're basically a walking case study on how smoking weed can actually tank your IQ.

I was just giving Star an example. A woman your age really should be able to stop taking everything so incredibly literally.
