Look at these people. It’s really about the principle of the thing, isn't it? I don't personally care one bit about the Muhammad sketches, and those Denmark sketches weren't even particularly funny to begin with, but listen, here in America we have this concept called freedom of speech, and it seems like some of you are clearly bothered by that. Or maybe you just want freedom of expression whenever it happens to suit your specific tastes, but honestly, come on. I get that Muslims might be upset about the Dance, I truly do, but the sheer level of arrogance that triggered from it just caught me off guard. I mean, think about it—in plenty of Muslim countries, there are certain laws that apply specifically to Christians, and it doesn't seem to bother anyone much. Isn't it just common sense to respect the laws and the culture of another country? I totally get that inciting hate speech is a line you shouldn't cross, but if you actually paid attention to the American media for once, you'd realize that Jesus is constantly used in all sorts of cartoons and jokes too. Not every Christian likes that, obviously, but that's just how things work in the Western world.

I just don't get why some of the folks on this forum don't think Muslims went way too far with their reactions to the Denmark sketches. It's not always such a black-and-white issue, you know? You guys are acting like there are only two sides to every story, but your objectivity is basically non-existent, even though I know you don't all see eye to eye.
Besides, those Muslim communities need Denmark way more than Denmark needs them, right? They have their own nations; let people draw whatever they want. If it's perfectly fine for Iran to have its own laws and run its country however it sees fit, then it should be just as fine for Americans to do whatever they want within their own borders.
