I personally swapped a few hundred Deutsche Marks at the Federal Reserve in Indianapolis earlier this year. There were some pretty confused looks all around—but they eventually converted them into dollars for me (and, naturally, tacked on a 10% commission just because they could). 🙂

The Osterajheris were absolutely ruthless when it came to wrecking shillings in those grinding machines. Honestly, it broke my heart watching them go through the shredder—each one worth 5000 shillings.

Thanks... I don't really get why they won't take it from me now...😲

You might have stumbled upon a real "gem" here. 🤷

I’ll probably give it another shot sometime this week. I mean, forty bucks is still a lot of money...

I accidentally crushed my $33 right out of the hallway cabinet. I don't think throwing a ten-dollar bill straight into the trash is the move here, so I’m asking—is there any way to get this replaced, and if so, who do I even talk to?

I know there's gotta be a way to find it somewhere, I just don't know where. If only we were living in America.

At the Federal Reserve, you can swap out a damaged bill without any hassle at all.

Anyone else here actually dealt with this before? I’m trying to figure out where the best spot is to go get this changed...

I can’t seem to find any twenty-dollar bills anywhere. It’s becoming a bit of an issue. $1.75So, what’s the deal with them in the end? There aren't exactly many of them out there, so I'm wondering—how does one actually track them down?

They’ve always been a tiny fraction—if you're looking at the percentages. For instance, even the cash reserves held by $333 make up less than 4% of the total money supply. 😉 That said, they aren't extinct; they still hold value. Give it a shot over at FIFA.

So I’ve got this $33 bill... it's pretty beat up... but honestly, it's all still there—no pieces missing. Is this thing even usable anymore? Or can I maybe swap it out for a crisp one somewhere?

Heading over to the Treasury Department. They’ve always charged some kind of processing fee—though it isn't quite $33. 😁

At FIFA, I ran the numbers—if it’s under 60%, it doesn’t pass. You need at least 60% to stay intact. Anything else, and you're heading straight downtown to the Federal Reserve.

Has there been any update on exchanging those old dollar coins for current ones yet?

And honestly, why are they being so stubborn about swapping out the coins in the first place? 🤷

so I'm in a bit of a rush and really need to swap out about 100 Deutsche Marks, does anyone know where I can get that done here in Washington, D.C.? please let me know!

Hey everyone, I have some old twenty-dollar bills lying around—there’s one featuring Benjamin Franklin—and I was just wondering if there are still places where I can actually exchange them...

I guess you both could probably just head to JPMorgan Chase. Word on the street is they have some kind of deal with foreign banks or whatever, so the fees shouldn't be too crazy and you might even get the cash right then and there. At least, that’s what I’ve heard through the grapevine. 🤷
