I'm not entirely sure I follow your logic here. Are you suggesting that I should have somehow intuitively known about a change in the law through some sort of psychic intuition???

When did you last see US Congress send a certified letter to every single citizen in America every time they pass a new law or tweak an old one? It’s ridiculous. In my book, a bank should actually notify its customers when laws change regarding their specific products—especially something as sensitive as a child's savings account.

I don't know which bank you're using, but I can see that JPMorgan Chase clearly has a brochure on their website outlining how they handle savings accounts opened in a child's name.

I couldn't agree more! It would have been common sense for the bank to give me a heads-up about the new legislation—but then again, if they had, I probably would have just withdrawn my funds, which is exactly what they want to avoid, isn't it? Honestly, how realistic do you all think it is that I'll actually be able to get my hands on that money? Does anyone here have any insight on this?

Steven Reed, head down to the local branch and have a word with the loan officer. Since we’re talking about building a house here—not some frivolous whim—I don't see why they wouldn't approve your financing 🤷

Look, I don't have kids, and honestly, I've never really had any dealings with NASA, so I have no clue how they handle these specific cases. But seriously, I really hope you get approved. It’s about improving your kid's quality of life, after all.

Good luck.
