Fine, I guess things haven't changed. That info was from February, but we've had new reports coming out since August, so that's why I'm asking.

They aren't anything new. Everything is exactly how it was six months ago, they just pulled the list from the local news feed.

Does this mean Iβm barred from getting any kind of debt relief loan for the next four years? I already settled my obligation of about $567 which landed me in federal prison three years ago...

So, Denny's blacklisted me because I missed a couple of payments back in the day. I finally settled the whole debt and gave them a call, but you know what they said? Nothing. They basically told me their hands are tied. Apparently, Iβm stuck on this blacklist, which means my credit score is going to be trashed for the next three or four years. Just great, right?
Quick question: Is there any way to work things out with the credit bureaus to get my name cleared from the list?

Blacklists are a thing of the past. Now we have this information exchange system where it just logs if there was some messy business during a specific window, and once it's recorded, you're stuck with it. Since that debt period only lasted a few months without anyone filing a lawsuit, I'm betting the banks won't even give it a second look after a year has passed.
Google doesn't have any say in these reports; they're strictly handled by the member banks.

If we're talking about just one or two missed payments, any bank you approach for a loan is going to see that clearly. They'll also see that everything is caught up now and that you're back on track, so I don't think you'll run into any issues with your creditworthiness.
And like rapidskiler12 mentioned, those "blacklists" aren't actually a thingβnobody can just blacklist you out of nowhere. Instead, banks and credit card companies report your payment history to HROK, which then processes and shares that data among other users of the HROK system. Essentially, if you make your payment, it gets reported to the system as paid; if you miss it, they report it as unpaid. It happens every single month like that.

I recently took out a loan, and while Iβm definitely someone who tends to be late with my credit card payments, they haven't actually blocked my account or anything. What really threw me for a loop was when I was finalizing the loan; my personal banker at JPMorgan Chase looked right at her screenβwithout me even bringing it upβand told me, "You're very reliable, we don't see any history of late payments." Now I'm just sitting here wondering... if every single late payment is supposed to be visible, how on earth did she miss mine?

How far behind are you on those credit card payments? If itβs just a slight delay or small amounts, banks usually don't mind too much.

I'm usually running behind by about 20 days...

I reckon if it's more than 30 days late, it gets flagged, but they'll give you a pass up to the 30-day mark.

Quick question: how long does it actually take to get a report once you file a formal request? I turned mine in Wednesday afternoon and Iβm still waiting.
#235 ·
It probably just comes down to which bank you're using. With Goldman Sachs, I usually end up waiting about two days.

From what I know, HROK only updates its data once a month. Does anyone happen to know which day that usually happens?
#238 ·
Is there any other way to get an overview of my HROK besides going through my primary bank?
I've been waiting on a response from JPMorgan Chase for nearly two weeks now... absolutely nobody has gotten back to me...

Just hit up whatever bank you use. JPMorgan Chase is a bit of a snail when it comes to this stuff. You end up waiting on their data privacy officer to pass the request along to HROK.

If my credit card was canceled, does that actually improve my chances of getting a loan? Basically, I had some debt on a Diner Club card about a year and a half ago, which I paid off in one single lump sum, but they ended up closing the account
Everything has been perfectly fine since then, and I've been on a permanent contract at my job for a while now
