Insurance Agent Licensing Exam at H&M

Has anyone by any chance taken the insurance agent certification exam over at H&M?

Some people I know were involved... what exactly is it you're looking for?

I was wondering how long the whole process takes—and what kind of questions they actually ask? I know there’s a written portion, and then if you pass that, you move on to the oral exam. I’ve heard lately that they’re being extra tough on people applying for banking roles—maybe even intentionally—to weed them out. I’ve already gone through quite a bit of study material, but I’m feeling a little jittery because if I can just clear this round (the exam is this Friday, Feb 23rd)—well, it would mean landing a much better job.

From what I gather, there are 40 questions on the oral exam, and you need at least 24 correct answers 🤔 just to even qualify for the oral portion... They have several different sets of questions, but word is they swap them out constantly so that....
Look, if you get women on the examining panel, you’re in luck (assuming you actually pass the written part), because they don't sweat the tiny details quite as much....
But if you end up with—I think his name is John Doe—then god help you... That man literally wrote the book on insurance law, and you practically have to memorize his entire life's work just to survive him...
What I’ve been told is that the study guides from the Federal Reserve are solid, and plenty of people have passed using them
As for all that talk about people getting demoted in banking roles... honestly, I don't think that's really the case.... It’s more that people struggle because of the sheer volume of work they're drowning in and the constant barrage of instructions they deal with every single day... not to mention the massive mountain of material you're expected to master...

It worked out this time—but probably just for now. It started off on a high note, I guess, but then everything just kind of spiraled. Of course, I ended up failing my oral exam because of some nitpicky examiner (I’ve always been more of a writer, anyway)—and it was the same for my colleague, who also failed over a single word. Plus, the nerves were just... a lot. Anyway, my oral exam dragged on for twenty minutes, while everyone else—the guys who had finished their interviews with the female examiners in the meantime—were done in five minutes flat with really basic questions. At least now I know exactly why those massive study guides are necessary and what I actually need to focus on.😠

Thanks, but I’ve already got all the study guides. Honestly—the guy is just awful and incredibly rude. He was basically trying to act like he’s some big shot in front of us—it was quite uncomfortable. Those women over there, though—they really are wonderful.

Took my exam last October. Blazed through the written part—actually ended up helping the colleague sitting next to me finish hers too. John Doe caught me doing it, though, and gave me a warning. Unbelievable. Somehow, I still landed on his schedule for the oral exam. He spent 40 minutes just trying to trip me up. Thank God I actually studied, because I barely scraped by. Honestly, if you don't end up with him for the oral, consider yourself lucky.🙂
I will say, he’s actually a decent guy.🙂

Who even recommended you for the exam? Seriously. When I was sitting there taking mine, they told me everything you need is right on the Deloitte website. My instructors gave me some extra study guides on the side, but I passed those along to everyone else.
I nailed it on the first try! 👍
