Peter Fisher4 said:I was just at the local jazz festival downtown, and honestly, I’m still buzzing. The band they had playing was absolutely incredible... such a vibe.

So, which band are you talking about?

The local festivals are getting ridiculous. Honestly, it’s just more noise in an already loud world. Everything feels like a massive, overproduced spectacle lately. It’s exhausting. kaže:
Just wanted to brag a little. 🙂
We put down the deposit for our band two weeks ago. 🙂 We were at a friend's wedding recently. They were there too, and honestly, what can I even say? It was love at first sight—or maybe love at first sound.
They’ve brought in a new lead singer, sure. But honestly? The only way they can go from here is up. 🙂
We’ve already sat down with the lead. We'll iron out the specifics about a week or two before the wedding. If they don't have their act together by then, we can always arrange for them to learn on the fly—though, honestly, looking at what they're actually offering... I suspect everyone else just listens to them because they have to. 🙂
I’m feeling pretty damn good right now. That band? They’re pure sugar. 🙂 And I suspect the price tag is playing a role in this, too.

Bravo. One less headache to deal with.👍

Peter Fisher4 said:As for the catering, I actually attended a party there recently and had a blast. From what I saw, the guests were totally happy and the newlyweds loved it too... plus, the owner is just a great person. Everything was smooth on their end. Honestly, every single vendor has some minor hiccups in organization now and then—it’s nothing new. I actually have some friends over in San Francisco, so that's why I decided to book them.

The worst part is, I personally know the owner... and he really is a good guy. But knowing that didn't help me one bit, because I foolishly thought you didn't need "connections" to get things done right. (Ah, wishful thinking.)

It all comes down to taste... sure. Impressions? Absolutely. And the power of the media? Massive.
The venue itself is gorgeous—I mean, I wanted it too—but there was one veeeeeeeeeery big downside: a total lack of professionalism.

They really ought to step it up. Their selection is pretty limited as it is, and they definitely don't need bad press on top of everything else.

And that’s that! End of story.

So, my thoughts on the venue and the music:

Jack’s Villa—I honestly just want to give them all a huge hug. They don't skimp on the food or the drinks, the staff is so seamless you barely notice them, and the place was packed. I'm happy, but my heart is even fuller seeing how much the wedding guests loved the service, the pot roast, and the lamb. To top it off, when six people bailed on me last Friday night, they didn't charge me for five of them. And when I booked rooms and a couple decided not to stay the night? They didn't charge me for that either, even though I could have used the space or turned someone else away for my reservation... They deserve way more than their 3-star rating.

Chunky’s vocal group did a flawless job, don't even doubt it.

The Beach Boys delivered exactly what we discussed. We picked the setlist, and they played almost until 5 AM, keeping everyone from the kids to the grandparents on the dance floor. It was my first time hearing them at a party, and I chose them based on my brother's recommendation... seriously, props to him.

The accordion player was there with the groom; he was hired to play and sing while we gathered, and then he saw us off to the chapel...

Anyway, I don't think I'm exaggerating—everyone absolutely crushed it!

Here’s my take... those groups like Viva, Bravo Band, Wrong Direction, Vice and Vilma, Vine and Ivo... I’m totally sure they’re gonna be awesome.

I've always been a huge fan of Major League Baseball, though I suspect you might be running a little late to the party since most of the top-tier bands tend to get booked up pretty far in advance, so you might want to move fast if you can.
Good luck!

I was at a party where they were playing once... and man, oh man... if I started talking about Vince's terrible timing—it was just "come on, buddy, get it together!"—his best friend's husband almost lost it on him...
so, if you just want them to play the music and nothing else, maybe give Vince a heads-up to keep his mouth shut a little more...👍

Check this out—there are plenty of numbers here depending on what you're looking for

Personally, I'd suggest Bomb—they're absolute fire... seriously top-tier stuff. Also, check out Bravo, Aurora, Milan, Matko, and Brane...

If I missed anyone, I'm sure other ladies on the forum will jump in to fill the gaps😍

Aurora, these guys were great for me. I could lend you their DVD—though it's not quite finished since I just got married myself. They aren't chatty, they won't pester you with weird little gimmicks, and they're total pros. They'll play whatever you agree on, whether you have specific requests or not... I just don't know if they're already booked up...

I’ve been to plenty of cookouts hosted by Vice and Vilma... and honestly, I’m totally sold. I’m not worried about a thing.

At the end of the day, it's all about personal taste. What hits for you might not hit for someone else, and that's fine! The main thing is that you're happy with it.

Why don't you come hang out with us at the wedding in California?

I actually caught one of their gigs once. Honestly? Phenomenal. They have such a huge repertoire and they just know how to set the right vibe—plus, their rates are pretty reasonable compared to other bands out there. From what I hear, they're pretty much booked solid through November, so... yeah, it's not easy to snag a date with them on short notice.

I honestly just wanted to weigh in regarding Vicky and Willow because what Slavaz is saying hits the nail on the head. A friend of mine was once at two different weddings where they had those traditional folk bands playing, and let me tell you, the vibe was exactly the same every single time. Honestly, some of the comments people make about them are just beyond ridiculous, like:

"Hey, bridesmaid, shake it! Blood from your nose!" and all that other nonsense

Look, I’m not saying they don't pull off a great musical set, but if I were the bride, I think I’d find that whole atmosphere a bit much—though, hey, if that's your style, go for it.

I don't get why people are making such a big deal out of this, honestly. It’s just some harmless fun, no need to make a mountain out of a molehill... I've been to plenty of BBQs where they played that stuff and I had a blast...

And maybe behind that username is actually the legendary vice....

You're honestly the first guy I've ever heard—well, read—writing in the feminine tense 😉
