What kind of vibe are we talking about for the party?
Since I’m hosting this thing on a boat, I feel like I’ll constantly be hauling people up from the lower deck to the main dance floor; I just can't risk it when it comes to the music selection.
I really wouldn't want the whole night to turn into one of their little concerts instead of what should be a wild, high-energy dance party.

So, I was at this party last night over in Dover (in one of the smaller halls), and they had Live Nation playing. They were seriously awesome! I actually stayed at the Presidential Hotel about two or three years ago, and while the food was decent enough, it wasn't exactly anything to write home about... plus, the newlyweds were totally complaining about the drink prices. Since you have to pay for everything separately, the final tab ends up being pretty steep...

The Presidential Hotel was an absolute disaster. We were all sitting there at the reception starving while everyone else was eating, and to make matters worse, the cake completely melted because they didn't have enough refrigerators on site. On top of that, the bride's father threatened them with a lawsuit, so they had to slash costs everywhere. You even have to pay extra for drinks—it's unbelievably expensive. The service was terrible, the manager was totally irresponsible, and honestly, it was a mess.

Look, I can give you the lowdown on the Pink Panther firsthand... I was at the wedding they played last Saturday... and man, all I can say is they killed it!
Those guys are total pros. They run the party perfectly and seriously rock when they play...
The dance floor was packed the whole night. People were dancing non-stop, and if they noticed the energy dipping even a little, they'd pump it right back up immediately. They are seriously awesome....

I don't have their number on me, unfortunately... but I can grab it as soon as my bestie gets back from her honeymoon😍

Hey there, everyone.

So, I’m back in the thick of it again. Dealing with some "delightful" dilemmas. I could really use your input here. I know I’ve already seen a few of you chiming in, but you know how it goes—always looking for something fresh, something new, something current. My next matchup is this: Fable versus the NRA. We're looking at $43 versus $38. Honestly, besides what I’ve read on this thread, I haven't heard anything else about them. So, please, lay it all out for me. I’ll be reading everything you have to say... 😉

Future plans welcome 😁

Regarding the NRA, one of our regular posters had a total nightmare with them—the venue owners basically played her for a fool. We were all pretty fed up with how they handled things... so my take? I wouldn't really suggest going there. Even though I've heard the space itself is decent, it’s nothing to write home about...

Fable personally, I haven't been, but I know plenty of people who have... and they couldn't stop raving about it. Everything from the food to the service was top-notch... so if you ask me, go with Fable... because from what I'm hearing, the venue is absolutely stunning...
A few couples from the California wedding thread mentioned they actually booked Fable, so you should definitely swing by there tomorrow morning to check it out... 👍

I’ve heard from the NRA that the venue is gorgeous, but I still agree with what rapidmason10 said
you really need to nail down all the details with them beforehand.

I’ve been reading up on the NRA, and honestly, there are a few points in there that just don't sit right with me. Still, it is what it is. As for Fable, I can't find much to complain about regarding the quality—though the price tag is a different story...😢( ) I just wanted to get your take. Any thoughts?
Thanks a lot!

I recently had the chance to work a wedding gig as a Wedding DJ in San Diego at the Key West restaurant.
I was really impressed by how the staff handled everything; everyone there was incredibly polite and maintained a high level of professionalism.
Honestly, I haven't had a meal that good in ages. I definitely recommend checking them out.

Hey,

I actually visited Fable back when they were still building it, so I can only comment on the space itself. I've noticed a lot of groups recommend them, like Live Nation or The Beach Boys... and those guys certainly have plenty of halls to work with...

My only gripe is that you might end up with several different types of puree served at once... though even that isn't a guarantee. And then there's the price. They quoted me 43 dollars... I heard they have some top-tier chef, but since prices seem to be climbing everywhere, I'm not sure if that's reasonable for 2009 in San Diego, or if it's just too much.🤷

As for the NRA... I haven't been. They played me, so I'd suggest being careful. The hall is just a hall; I didn't have any major complaints. The food should be fine, the venue is decent, all the amenities are there—except maybe the access and the location. It’s right near the prison, after all. But that doesn't have to be a downside. If someone causes trouble, they can go straight to jail.😂

I was actually at that party at the Presidential, and honestly, everything was fine... I don't really have any complaints. I mean, the food wasn't exactly life-changing, but it was certainly an upgrade from what you get at the Lion :-) All in all, not a bad night at all :-)

I stayed at the Presidential Hotel about two years back... It was alright, I guess. My biggest gripe? That massive pillar right in the middle of the dance floor. Total vibe killer. And honestly, even back then, the prices were pretty steep. Drinks weren't included, and they were serving bottled water—0.7 liter bottles, of all things. Who actually pays those prices? Ridiculous. Plus, finding parking is a total nightmare, even if you are right in the heart of downtown.

So, what’s the vibe like at Holy Cross on a boat? Does anyone know if it's actually a good spot to host a party? I'm curious about the prices, the service, and the overall atmosphere—is it worth checking out or should I skip it?
I was scrolling through some photos online and it looks stunning. Has anyone here actually been there and can share their experience? 🙂

I went to a party there a few years back and had a blast... then again, I was there for New Year's last year and everything was perfect—service, food, cleanliness, all of it.
I think they're charging about $40 now—I'm not 100% sure, but I think that's the ballpark...
Holy Cross isn't like, some jaw-droppingly fancy venue, but overall it's solid and I'd definitely recommend it.

I think silentpuma28 is spot on. I went in for my checkup during my eighth month and they told me 38 weeks, unless they totally changed the rules on me recently.🤷

Alright guys, let's keep it chill, no need to fight 😁

From what I can tell—and honestly, I might be getting my math mixed up since I'm turning 38 now and will be 42 by next year🤷—she’ll actually be starting ninth grade next year.

I think you're missing the point regarding the layout. Maybe I'm wrong, but having three different clubs all crammed into one building is asking for trouble. What happens if one group gets aggressive or starts acting out? If they decide to start causing scenes or harassing people in the other lounges, there's no easy way to separate them.
