Is Matthew actually a good choice for a wedding photographer? What kind of rates are we looking at?
Thanks!

I’m looking for some solid hair salon recommendations in San Francisco for a color job before my wedding. Right now, I’ve got these brown highlights that the sun has totally fried, so the ends are looking pretty yellowish. I really want to go for a rich chocolate brown, but the main thing is I can't have them wrecking my hair—it's on the thinner side and doesn't have much volume. I think I heard through the grapevine that Matthew at Joker or Michelle over in City are both great, if I remember right. If anyone's had a good experience with them, please let me know!

Hey ladies, I was wondering if you could give me some insight on the typical timing between different parts of the wedding ceremony? We have a wedding coming up out in the Midwest, and I need to give my sister a rough timeline. Our group is basically putting together our own custom itinerary, though we’re totally open to tweaking things or adding new elements if you all have any bright ideas... thanks!

I’d say aiming for about 75 to 90 minutes between sets is really the sweet spot. Honestly, even if you hire a professional coordinator or an MC, that's exactly what they'll tell you is ideal..

We enjoyed about 45 minutes of dancing followed by a thirty-minute meal. It consisted of cured ham and cheese, then two varieties of risotto, beef stew, lamb with potatoes, and finally cake.

I’ve scrolled through pretty much this entire thread 😳 but hey, figured it wouldn't hurt to ask again—any experiences or solid recommendations for venues in San Diego or the surrounding areas? Looking at hosting around 100 people. I’d really love somewhere with at least a view of the ocean if we aren't right on the water, though from what I can tell, finding a spot like that in San Diego is actually kind of tough 😢

Does anyone happen to know where I might be able to find a house with a pool available for a one-night rental? It’s for a bachelor party... ideally somewhere around the Miami area or slightly further out... thanks!

Does anyone have any insight on whether Ira or Rose is the better option—and what kind of pricing we're looking at for both? Thanks!

Greetings,
I’m new to this forum. I am currently stuck choosing between two venues—I'm leaning toward either Sky or bolero. Does anyone have any recent feedback, good or bad, regarding either of these locations? We haven't had the chance to visit them in person yet, unfortunately. 😕
Also, does anyone have experience with Photo Cerin? Their portfolio looks quite impressive to me. Additionally, Smile and Raos Studio both happen to be available on our date...
Thanks

I'd suggest checking out Raos and Bolero. 👍

Greetings,

What has everyone’s experience been like with XXL catering for weddings in San Diego?

Thanks.

Thanks for the input. I was also eyeing Beep Pictures, but I’ve heard through the grapevine from two acquaintances that they were stuck waiting an entire year for their shots, even though payment is supposed to be immediate after the regatta. Has anyone else actually dealt with them? Personally, I think the photos are stunning, but sitting around for a year is just unacceptable...

I’m right there with you! Raos produces absolutely stunning shots—honestly, I think their work is even better than Beep Pictures—and Bolero is such a fantastic venue. The only thing that beats them is the vibe at Sky; the surroundings are just more beautiful, and I can't get enough of those poolside cocktails...

Their photography is seriously top-tier. I know some friends of mine had to wait about seven months, not quite a full year, but still... That said, both Čerina and Raos do an amazing job, so you really can't go wrong regardless of who you pick.

I urgently need to find a musician or singer to perform in front of the church... I'm looking for someone who can start singing in thirty minutes at the absolute most.

Does anyone have a recommendation?
And what would be a realistic price for something like this?🙂

What were you thinking? An accordion player or some folk group?

If you need a photographer, check out the work of Pixie Dust or maybe Željana Matošić. They're phenomenal.

For anything else, please just send me a DM; I think I've already racked up about 50 points.

P.S. thanks a lot 😁

To be honest, I’m just not entirely sure 🙂

I don't want to offend anyone—and trust me, I absolutely love accordion players and tambourine groups, and I hit up their shows all the time—but this event feels a bit more "refined," so maybe an accordion isn't the right vibe.

Then there’s my other dilemma: the groom isn't from California (and honestly, neither are most of his guests, haha), so would it look out of place to hire a traditional vocal group?

I definitely wouldn't dictate their entire song list, but I also don't want them singing slow, heartbreaking ballads. I want them to actually know what kind of energy to bring! Hahaha 🙂)

Ultimately, I think we need a group with instruments and someone who knows how to keep the party going. We really need coverage for the transition from the restaurant to St. Anthony's Catholic Church and back... about 40 minutes at most.

Maybe some bluegrass musicians instead? I actually have an idea, though I'm not sure how feasible it is right now. Shoot me a DM if you want to talk about it.
