Ugh, guys, I’m getting married in three months and aside from the basics—venue, band, photographer—I haven't actually booked anything else yet. Honestly, I'm not even feeling the hype right now. 🙂
So, here's the deal: It hit me last night that maybe we should just do a beach wedding (since our venue is in Los Angeles and we're basically right on the coast), and now I'm stuck wondering... does anyone know where I can rent one of those wooden wedding arches with the canopy for an outdoor ceremony?

Does anyone happen to know where I might be able to rent some beverage coolers (the kind you typically see in bars or cafes)? I’m aware that soda distributors have them and that you can sometimes talk your way into getting one from them, but I would much prefer a straightforward rental option if such a thing exists...
Any information at all would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Can anyone give me some solid recommendations for an accordion player for a wedding down in Savannah?

Does anyone know where I can find some hair accessories around San Francisco? Nothing too crazy, just maybe a little clip or something since I'll be rocking a low ponytail

If anyone’s planning a last-minute wedding, I’ve got a slot opening up on 9/16 at the Grašo restaurant (Atlantic) ;-)

Hey everyone. My birthday falls right around Christmas time, so I was wondering if anyone knows where I can pick up some standard Christmas ornaments—just basic baubles—and have them custom-made with my initials and my husband's name or something similar? I honestly have no clue where to even start looking locally. I know I could just go online and find some cheap options from overseas or some random mass-produced stuff, but I’d much rather see if there's something available here in the States first. If anyone has any leads on where I could get something personalized like that, let me know. Thanks!😉

Hey everyone
Does anyone know a spot in San Francisco where I can host about 40 people without breaking the bank? I really don't want to end up having to take out a second mortgage just to feed them...

I need to treat some guests who couldn't make it to the wedding... I really feel like I should make it happen.🤦🤦🤦

Dodoja Dugopolj does great local catering since she runs her own business, and she's honestly wonderful. She’s so lovely that I’d actually marry her, and she can put together a perfect little dinner party or small feast. Her setup is $60

Hey everyone! I keep seeing you all drop recommendations here, so I figured it was finally time to jump in—I'm planning a wedding from NYC, though my fiancé is heading out to handle the logistics 🎉
I don't know if my taste is just off or what, but I could barely find any reviews for Dodger Stadium... but honestly, out of everywhere we've scouted, the vibe there felt the best—especially regarding the staff and the menu—so Dodger Stadium it is 🙂
Now I'm wondering which DJs you guys would recommend? It seems like there isn't much info on that either... 🤔
I've read plenty about cakes—it's always the same big names popping up—but I was wondering if anyone has actually tried the treats from Tea Mamut or Luke? I'm obsessed with sweet.cakes.and.more.. on Instagram... any info at all would be amazing :klap:

Does anyone know of a good hair or makeup salon in San Francisco? I'm looking for something affordable, and ideally, a place that offers both services together. Thanks so much!

I'm not exactly sure where in San Francisco I saw it, but since I was looking for it myself, those damn Facebook ads keep popping up in my feed. It’s always some random local page, though. I can't for the life of me remember the name right now, but as soon as it shows up again, I'll let you know so you can take a look.

We’re going with a Tea Mamut cake, and I don't care what it costs—I’m ready to drop some serious cash to make this happen. But let's be real: when you're paying for something like that, you aren't just paying for the name on the box. You're paying for the actual quality. If I'm shelling out that kind of money, it better be perfect.😉 I’m not even exaggerating here—that sponge cake she makes is easily one of the best I’ve ever had. And those creams? Seriously delicious. You can tell she uses high-quality stuff.

Out of all the weddings I've been to, there was only one where the wedding cake was actually worth eating. Most of them are just this dry, floury sponge with margarine-heavy frosting—honestly, they're pretty mediocre. So, since I’m a total foodie, I had one very specific wish for my own big day: I want an actual, delicious cake.😁

As for Luke, I wander around here and there looking for a decent cake or a muffin, and honestly, they’re always hits for me. You can just tell when someone isn't cutting corners and actually uses high-quality ingredients. Your best bet is to just ask for a sample tasting before you commit. Good luck with whatever you decide.

We hired Nera x band for our wedding, and honestly? We were pretty disappointed.

Before the big day, I had several chats with the lead singer, and she went out of her way to convince us that they were going to throw an absolute rager—she promised we’d have a blast. But what we actually got was this lukewarm, half-hearted celebration where nobody seemed enthusiastic or even remotely interested in getting the party started.
Just a few days before the wedding, during one of our talks, she mentioned that their saxophonist wouldn't be able to make it because he had to head off to North Mexico. Even though the lineup changed, they didn't offer us any discount, but we didn't want to make a scene—stressing out three days before the wedding is the last thing anyone needs.

On the actual wedding day, everything else was perfect—I was over the moon! The restaurant before the ceremony was great, the accordion player was flawless, and the flowers, the church, the venue, my dress, the photographer... everything was spot on. They were the only ones who let us down, and I definitely wouldn't recommend them. The breaks between sets were way too long, and they completely failed to read the room. It got to the point where we actually had to walk over to them, pull them away from their table, and practically beg them to play with more energy.
We originally booked them because I’d seen them perform at a wedding back in 2012, and they were absolutely incredible. Maybe they’ve just lost their spark or their drive since then, but that was our experience, and unfortunately, you can't redo a wedding night once the music dies down.

A little advice for future newlyweds: please, go see the band you're planning to hire live if you can. If you have a specific repertoire in mind, insist on it! Don't let them sweet-talk you into accepting less, and if you notice they aren't sticking to the plan during the event, speak up immediately.

I wish you all beautiful weddings and marriages filled with love and happiness! 🙂🙂

I can tell you exactly what I wouldn't recommend. 👎
I was at this party recently where Duplančić was in charge of the music, and honestly, it was a total disaster. It was so pathetic that we, as guests, actually had to start dragging other people onto the dance floor just to get things moving—all because the newlyweds were being such killjoys. At one point, he even just sat down, lit up a cigar, and handed the decks over to some other guy to take over. And wouldn't you know it? That guy wasn't any better. From what I heard, this is pretty much his standard move; it’s clearly not just a one-time thing.

I was honestly ready to go all out and buy every single pastry from Tea Mamut, but she annoyed me so much that I’ve decided to just grab some treats from a little boutique bakery in Santa Monica instead. Honestly, I just want those same small, thin, modern cakes. The woman and I went back and forth through literally twelve different emails where she nitpicked every tiny detail about my order, yet somehow she still couldn't give me a straight answer on the price. Her whole attitude is basically: "My pastries are irreplaceable, so the cost is irrelevant." Unbelievable.

I think this has already been brought up before.

Honestly, some of the best weddings I’ve ever been to were the ones where he was on the decks. I’ve probably hit about ten of "his" weddings by now. People weren't just dancing; they were losing their minds having a blast. Every time an old classic would come on, I’d find myself digging through my phone right after the reception to download it so I could blast it in my car later...

The bride and groom usually sit down with him beforehand and hammer out exactly what kind of music they want played.
The reason people respect him is because he actually sticks to the setlist. Like, if they don't want country music, he won't touch it, no matter how much some guest at the party begs him to play it.

But look, if the couple misjudges their own guests—like, they request indie rock but everyone else wants classic country—you can't really pin that on the DJ.

I’ve even been to weddings where the couple explicitly told the DJ, "Hey, do NOT play Thompson," but he’d go ahead and drop a track anyway because he could just "feel" the energy dying and knew it would save the night. And honestly? He’d be right; that song would totally kick the party back into gear. But then you have the newlyweds coming up to him afterward, all pissed off, complaining that he broke the deal because even if the guests love Thompson, *they* absolutely can't stand him... so, either way, someone ends up unhappy.

This set was put together by my DJ (he goes by DJ Khaled, you can find him on Facebook; he plays weddings and at the Blue Note)

I don't blame him. In my case, sitting out for a bit was actually quite nice—it gave me a breather. The guests were happy because they got the music they wanted, and I was happy because nobody was judging me for being antisocial. Still, a wedding isn't just about the two people getting married; if it were, we might as well have just eloped with our best man and maid of honor.

Then again, to be fair, I personally never expect or demand that a bride and groom cater to my specific musical tastes. I make sure to stay on the dance floor because that’s just common courtesy. But clearly, not everyone approaches it with that level of consideration...

We had to cancel our weddings scheduled for September 16th and 23rd, 2017. The deposit for the photographer has already been paid, so if anyone is looking for photography services, you can snag a bit of a discount. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.
