Roma29,
I’ve been spending a little too much time scrolling through your photos lately 🙂
The rings you all wear are absolutely stunning. Would anyone mind sharing where I might find something similar?
Thanks 🙂

120-130, probably closer to 130
Seriously girls—I don't know what I'd do without you all
Has anyone ever been to a party at Dave & Buster's?

I’ve also got a place in Bellevue and Savannah! 🙂
And you can bet I’m voting for Bellevue too! 👍

I went once and it was great. They claim it holds up to 150, but if you ask me, 100 is the sweet spot. Beach access is killer. It gives off that same vibe as San Antonio Quote.

The lounge fits maybe 100 tops... and that's pushing it.

Listen, everyone
will give you some number... just subtract 20 from whatever they say. 😍 You don't want a packed house where you can't even move!

P.S. I got married in Napa, and it was incredible... but you mentioned you aren't interested in going there...

So, I’ve actually been to both Amigos and Bellevue. Personally, I think keeping things between 100 and 120 people is the sweet spot—anything more than that and it just turns into a total zoo. Since the vibe and location matter a lot to me, I’d definitely vote for Amigos because the spot is honestly gorgeous. Bellevue is also a solid 5/5 when it comes to the actual room and the service, but the location 👎
is a bit of a toss-up. Honestly though, it's pretty hard to find a place that hits every single mark perfectly. 🤷

Hmm, I'm leaning two votes toward Amigos and one for Bellevue. I actually just finished chatting with my boss at Bellevue—why am I so torn?! 😕😕😕

This is way too much pressure—he’s seriously going to kill me if I pick wrong.

Sweetie, just visit both places... talk to the people there and see which vibe you actually like better—then decide! 👍

And who's actually going to drag Dan over there?!? He’s completely wiped out after spending his entire Saturday trekking through sales all across the state

Well—he can't really complain if he ends up hating the venue he picked himself😉

Zachary White9 said:Thanks, Jeremy Wilson5. You've got a point there—I think I'll look for a live band instead. I'll check which ones are free for the ninth month, since everything is already getting super crowded by then anyway. 🤷 😕

No problem at all! I really hope you manage to find a spot that suits your taste. 🙂

Hey everyone, does anyone happen to know a good catering company in San Francisco that won't absolutely break the bank?
I'm getting married this September...

Hello everyone
I am new to this wedding planning community, and I could really use some guidance.
So, the wedding is set for 2010 near San Francisco—but I am actually hoping to host the celebration somewhere else entirely. Does anyone have information regarding estates, castles, or villas in that general area—perhaps around San Francisco or maybe even near Castle Rock? Or perhaps a hall with a view of the ocean or a river... or even just a nice little park where we could set up a tent...
I am still unsure about the final headcount—the initial guest list already exceeded 300...
Since I will be organizing everything from abroad, I truly need all the help I can get—I will only have three weeks this summer to visit venues, scout locations, and make bookings—provided I can actually find what I am looking for.....

I was browsing a planner's website based out of Seattle—they have such a stunning selection... but unfortunately, they don't cover the San Francisco area...

Help!!!!!!

Reach out to either the La Perla agency in San Francisco or Desi; they actually know what they're doing when it comes to this kind of thing.

I've heard Pimpinela and Arkada are great—really solid choices... also, there's this ballet school over in Castle Rock, and I was at their recital this summer where they did the catering, and honestly? Huge thumbs up from me!👍

It's going to be tough to find a venue with an ocean view that fits that many people...
Some of the bigger halls in our area are Phoenix, Fabula, or Holy Cross over in the islands...
Everything else is geared toward much smaller groups...
Maybe try reaching out to agencies like Desi or La Perla, just like the lady above suggested 😉

They do weddings at the historic fort, but I'm not sure how many people it can actually handle.

A beautiful riverside spot would be Castle Rock, near Omaha, by Radman's mills... I think it holds about 200, though maybe it expands a bit, so who knows.

But if you're looking at 300 guests... you're looking at something like the Castle, Holy Cross, or maybe somewhere near Dugopolje.

Welcome...
I went through that exact same thought process regarding tents and outdoor setups because our guest list topped 200, making it seem like the most logical option at first glance. I'm not sure how much budget plays into your decision, but those configurations can get surprisingly pricey.
It might be worth reaching out to seasoned professionals—maybe La Perla or an agency like Song. I know the ladies over at Song do incredible work; I can send you their contact info via PM if you'd like.

AS FOR THAT HISTORIC SITE— $3.25you end up paying fees to the local tourism board. There isn't easy access to electricity up there, so you'd have to sort out generators and all that gear. You'd definitely need a massive tent to accommodate a crowd that size. $17 That's just the tent itself, not counting tables and chairs. For a group your size, the setup per person could easily run you around $33 per head... $10 which ends up being quite a sum when you're dealing with 300 guests... 🤷

THEN THERE'S THE BEACH VENUE IN SAN FRANCISCO—where just renting the space is $20,000. Add in the lighting and decor, and the total climbs toward $13

Personally, my top choice was the Lion hotel, but they had a major convention scheduled for our date, so we were out of luck. It's a bit pricier upfront, but once you crunch the numbers, it turns out to be MUCH more affordable than an outdoor wedding. For us, the outdoor combo ended up costing over $110 per person, so we eventually threw in the towel. I wouldn't say I regret choosing the indoor route, but sometimes "too much" is just too much. 🙂

On the bright side, by the time your wedding rolls around,
the Hotel Marjan (I heard from some future employees that it will be under the Hilton brand),
the Hotel Split (part of the Radisson chain),
and likely the Hotel Palace in Castle Rock (which was our runner-up, though unfortunately, they aren't slated to open until late 2009) should all be ready.
These will all be 4 and 5-star locations, which sounds like exactly the kind of vibe you're hunting for.

If anything else comes to mind, I'll let you know. Hope this helps.

I heard that Diocletian out in Malibu does incredible catering. There’s also this one guy from San Jose I’ve been trying to track down because I actually need his services too.😉

Both of them work by the book.

Zachary White9 said:Oh man, I just now saw your comment. What can I say? I really don't have any firsthand experience to go on. As for the music—I'm definitely more into electronic stuff myself, but let's be real: two-thirds of the party will probably be the older folks and my fiancé's side of the family who just want to shout along to old-school classics. I have to admit, that part stresses me out a little—I don't want my wedding to turn into a sweaty basement rager, but I also don't want people just sitting around, either.

Man, I totally get where you're coming from; making that call is tough, and let's be real, the band usually ends up winning that battle because that's just how these things go. 😉
As for me, my DJ is still going to play our local stuff, but mostly we're talking 80s vibes and current hits (the more urban, modern ones, obviously), plus a few old-school classics from the 80s (think things like New Wave, Fossil, Elvis Presley, or those classic Star Magazine style hits) to keep the older folks happy and warm things up. It’s that kind of music that bridges the generational gap, so I know I won't miss the mark—even though I’m positive my relatives would much rather be jumping around to bubblegum pop, but hey, not at my party, whether they like it or not. As for the foreign music, I’ll save all that for the very end once the older crowd has finally passed out. 😁

Don't stress too much; whatever you decide, it’s going to turn out fine!!
