So, we have the group Best. I can't give a definitive verdict just yet—I really need to get through my audition process first—but from everything I've gathered so far, they seem quite talented. They're actually playing at the Tropic Club tomorrow starting at noon 😕. If you want a little preview, there are a few clips available on YouTube

I guess they might be worth checking out since I know a guy in the band... though I wonder how much they actually make... it's a full band setup, I suppose...

Midweek... midday... nothing makes sense anymore. What are they even going to play on the piano while everyone sits around drinking coffee?😕

$1,500. Honestly, that’s what they posted on Facebook—that it starts at noon. But I have a feeling that might be a typo. It seems much more likely that the concert runs from midnight until 4:00 in the morning, rather than lasting from noon all the way through to 4:00 PM the following day, as 🤣 suggested. As for the whole "midweek" thing, looking back at this summer, they were performing almost every single night somewhere else anyway.

Live Nation
Type: Music/arts - Concert
Network: Global
Start Time: Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 12:00
End Time: Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 16:00
Location: Bačvice, Split
Milan Terze and the group Best in a completely unprecedented collaboration designed to please everyone involved.
It's a live set with six people on stage, so just come out and experience it for yourself. There isn't really much point in over-explaining things...
See you all on Wednesday.

I guess I'm checking them out on YouTube right now and there's more footage... yeah, they're actually pretty good, just like I thought they might be...

It’s probably just an error... Honestly, the most likely scenario is that you'll chime in with your usual commentary... everything else... is nothing but blatant advertising ☕

I hear you. That’s exactly why I mentioned I couldn't give a definitive opinion until my ears stopped ringing from the last show, but since they play quite often, you can always go listen to them beforehand to get a feel for their sound.🤷

Personally, I don't trust those gigs in other towns... if I'd only heard The Beach Boys at some local dive in Savannah or playing small sets in California, I honestly don't know if I would've booked them. Out there, the crowd is always ready to party, and everyone is roughly the same age. But a wedding? That's a different beast entirely. You've got kids, you've got elderly relatives, people who won't stop dancing, and people who won't even get off their chairs. To me, a truly high-quality band is one that knows how to set the mood and actually keep it going. Happy guests and a packed dance floor—that's the only real advertisement you need.

To be perfectly honest, I’ve been debating whether I should even mention my band until we get through this upcoming wedding season. Perhaps it was premature of me to bring them up at all.😁 I suppose I took a bit of a leap by sharing, mainly because I haven't actually heard them play live yet—even though they did reach out to invite me to a gig. Since they are such a new group, I didn't feel right recommending them on a forum like this just yet.
At the end of the day, no matter what kind of music you book for a wedding, you're never going to please everyone. My dad and my older aunts and uncles are much more into classic country legends like Johnny Cash or old-school folk ballads🤣, so I am fully aware that my band probably won't be their cup of tea.🙂

I saw them play a while back! It was Milan Terze playing with a group—I think that's the band in question—and they were actually pretty great!☕

I’d love to get your thoughts on some good churches in the area for photo shoots, plus any ideas for locations and how far in advance I should probably book everything...

Your advice would honestly be a lifesaver since I don't live here, and my photographer and videographer aren't locals either, so any suggestions at all are more than welcome... cheers and thanks a million!

I’m looking for some assistance here. Does anyone have recommendations for a band that actually plays decent rock 'n roll? Also, does the name Ivica Majić ring any bells for anyone? He’s a guitarist; I attended a wedding a while back where he was performing. Thanks.

As for churches... you've got the popular ones like Saint Anthony near the stadium, Saint Francis right on the waterfront, Saint Duje in the courtyard, the church over on Manhattan, or Saint Jerome Church up by Central Park... if you're planning on using those churches, you'd better reach out as soon as possible...

Photo locations... honestly, the whole city works for me. Any beach will do, Manhattan, the lookout points... or maybe near Saint Jerome Church in Central Park.

So, I’ve been thinking more and more about doing things at Saint Duje and maybe grabbing two or three shots down by the waterfront... though I was wondering if maybe I should do some sketching or photos near Central Park first? Could I wrap all that up in an hour or so? Honestly, since I'm having my wedding in such a gorgeous city, I really want those photos to be perfect... ugh, I just want everything, but obviously, you can't have it all 😉

Who should I reach out to regarding Saint Duje, and is it possible to schedule a ceremony for 3:30 PM?
Also, since using cameras is technically restricted, are there any specific rules when it comes to wedding photography?

If anyone here has actually had their wedding at Saint Duje, did your photos end up looking too dark? If you have any tips, please let me know—any bit of info would be a lifesaver... thanks!

I’ve seen photos from Saint Duje... they aren't dark. They look similar to the ones taken in the cathedral in Charleston.😍 A good photographer will handle everything using lighting and flash...

As for booking the ceremony... honestly, your best bet is to call the parish office directly. Or better yet, just drop by in person when you're in the neighborhood.😍

So, I’m actually planning to swing by the coast near Charleston early this October... might pop into the local office while I'm in town... thanks so much for the info! 😍

Smith is currently following Harry Roncevic and running The Salon. He's a fantastic guitarist, though I'm not sure if he still plays any blues.

Larry Ross43 said:I was wondering if anyone knows if you can actually host a wine tasting over at Villa California? Does anyone happen to have any info on that?

Larry Ross43, I honestly don't know if anyone has gotten back to you yet, but a few years back we were asking around about V. California and they told us the venue rental alone was going to run us around 2,500 bucks. We heard The Arcade was doing some catering for parties over there, but then once we finally tracked down enough people from The Ville, we were told they aren't even doing weddings anymore... Who knows if things have changed since then? Your best bet is probably to check with The Arcade, because if you look at their website, they still have some photos from when they catered events at that location.

I'll check it out, thanks so much! 👍

Does anyone happen to know if the Dalila salon in San Francisco is any good for wedding hairstyles?
