A cute little Smith favor paired with a nice thank-you note is plenty.😉

Can someone explain what a Smith is? I'm from Ohio, so I'm not really familiar.🙂

I'm not entirely sure if this will be much help to you...
I did hear something about a rose nursery located just outside of Portland, though I don't know the exact location...

Thanks so much! 🙂

A little bottle of bourbon is basically the standard way we show hospitality around here; you know, that classic little gift you pass to guests when they drop by.

Does anyone happen to know what the rental rates are for a limo in Indianapolis or the surrounding area?

Hey everyone. I’m heading out to visit family in Naperville later this year, and since I’m getting married, I want to check out some local bridal boutiques while I'm in town. Any recommendations for a good shop? Thanks!

So, looking at Indianapolis, which is about 25 miles from Naperville, you've got Isabella, The Bride, Stephanie, and Nicholas (Isabella carries Pronovias and a few Saint Patrick pieces). The Bride has some different brands, Stephanie stocks Eddy K., Stephanie, and The Bride, and then Nicholas does their own thing, so there's plenty of variety to play with! In Naperville itself, if I remember right, there's maybe one or two shops. If you head over to Portland (about 25 miles from Naperville), you can hit up Lisa, who carries Maggie Sottero gowns, and there's also Nicholas over there too. Good luck with the hunt. Honestly, reading this just makes me realize how much I struggled—I couldn't pick anything from all those options, so I ended up just designing my own 😂

Has any of you ladies been down to New Orleans lately looking for wedding dresses? I’ve heard a massive wave of brides heading that way recently, so I’m curious to hear if any of you have actually been and what your experience was like. Maybe you have some insights if you've made the trip.
thanks

Hey ladies! I'm looking for recommendations for good bakeries around Indianapolis (that's where the wedding is) and also places for invitations in the same area. Has anyone worked with desserts from Grandma's Creek or Katherine's treats in Indy? 🙂

Robert Moore86 said:Are you guys planning on handing out pre-packaged cookies to guests as they leave? We usually give out thank-you notes and chocolates, but we were thinking about adding cookies too. Now the other women at my job are telling me it’s just an unnecessary expense, especially since the wedding is in July. What do you think? How are you all handling this for your weddings?

I don't really care for the cookies. I'm thinking about just doing thank-you favors and confetti, though I've been browsing this forum and saw some girls giving out little silver or gold Hershey's bars with custom wrappers from a local print shop featuring the couple's photo and date. That seems like an interesting idea... maybe just something left on every plate or given as a favor.🙂

Olivia Gomez2 said:Their menus are decent enough—the food itself tastes good—but I felt like there could have been more of it... the portions were a little on the small side, especially when it comes to the side dishes. As for the dessert menu, it wasn't my favorite, and honestly, the presentation wasn't exactly stunning either. That being said, the venue itself is really lovely, especially once they get the lighting just right...

Those cakes and desserts at the venue actually come from Grandma's Creek, so that complaint doesn't really hold water... but I guess you don't have to use them, so maybe the couple brought their own.. Because honestly, the stuff from Grandma's Creek is killer! As for the portion sizes, yeah, I've heard that too... now I'm getting worried... :-(

Smith is basically like a Snowball—everyone knows what that means! Everyone's bought one at a convenience store at least once... :-)

I could really use a little assistance here. I haven't been able to find anyone yet to handle the music or singing during the church services. So, ladies, if you happen to know anyone... please help! (I am looking specifically for someone in the Memphis area.) 🤷

I’ve been catching up on your posts, but I’m pretty new to this forum.
Our wedding is set for May 28th, and we booked the Lucy venue in Indianapolis. I’ve seen some negative reviews online, but a lot of my friends have married there and they were all thrilled.
For music, we’re doing a mix of a DJ and a live band.
We ordered the cake from Grandma's Creek, though I have to say Sweetie is also great—I used to get my treats there when I lived in Pittsburgh.
I decided to get my wedding dress at Mira's boutique in Diamond; the selection is amazing, and they’re even throwing in 100 free invitations from FedEx, which has a great collection.
For thank-you notes, we’re thinking about magnets featuring our photo and date, or maybe a fun little caricature of us instead.
We’re putting guests up at the Verizon hostel, where we secured a rate of $42 per person. For entertainment, we’ll have a DJ paired with a live band and radio personalities.
We hired Lepida Wedding Planning out of Pittsburgh, and she’s handling the flowers through Dade in Pittsburgh, though my first choice was actually Freesia and Blanche before I found her. The coordinator is wonderful and is just bursting with ideas. She actually helped me save money on several things, like the guest book station—we're doing a DIY foam board setup above the head table.
She even offered us a chocolate fondue station for a tiny price.
If anyone knows of a good lighting company outside of what we found in Pittsburgh, please send me their number—and if you’ve found any great deals on wedding bands, let me know! 🙂

Maybe try looking up Rasvjeta for weddings (MarMa Light) on Facebook? They're based out of Indianapolis.

Give my best to Izidor and just trust her completely. She’s amazing.👍

If anyone happens to have a recommendation for a solid lighting setup—other than the one from the crew over in Pittsburgh—please drop their number 🙂

Wait, what’s the issue with the Pittsburgh option? I was actually leaning toward picking them up, so I’m just trying to weigh my options...
