Hey guys, anyone planning to hit up the wedding expo on January 14th and 15th?

If anyone actually made it out to the expo at the Hotel Osijek last year, could you give me the lowdown on how it went?
Did they offer any kind of discounts for people just walking through the doors?
I checked out Pampas back in December and, honestly, the number of vendors was kind of a letdown—is the turnout at the hotel usually better than that?

Will they be at the wedding expo along with the jewelry vendors too?! 🤷

Hey there, everyone. I’m new to this forum. My in-laws are coming to town in about five months, and I’m currently torn between booking Maya Perry or Photo Inc
. Help me out here.

I’ve been scrolling through some photos from an inch away... they are absolutely stunning 😍

I'm voting for Maya 😍. Her shots are stunning—nothing overdone, just pure talent. She's got an eye for the little things and knows how to catch those real, raw moments.

So, it’s one vote for Maya and one for Incha. Personally, Incha works out much better for my budget—it's about 3 dollars cheaper $0.00—plus I get a light show and some extra perks included... so I think I'll probably go with them.

Maya Perry's photos are great—really modern vibes. Her inch shots lean more towards classic style, though there are a few modern ones mixed in here and there. But honestly, an inch shot is three times $0.00 cheaper, plus you get the light show, thank-you cards, and the album included. With Maya, all that extra stuff comes with an added price tag.

Last year's wedding expo was actually pretty solid. You get a huge variety of vendors, and most of them offer discounts or throw in freebies if you book something on the spot. Personally, I thought the expo at Pampas was a total letdown compared to the one at Hotel Osijek. The hotel setting just feels way more upscale, and they always seem to have a much better turnout of exhibitors.

Check out this thread. There’s some solid advice in there. 😉

More on wedding expenses here. 🙂

Does anyone know which salons in Indianapolis offer this service, what kind of pricing I should expect, and more importantly, does anyone have actual experience with it? I'm really not a fan of the tanning beds; I don't want to end up looking as pale as a sheet on my vacation next week.🙂

I’m also looking for answers to this one, pretty please! 🙂

@velvetnomad8 - Maya Perry and photographer Incha were also at the top of my list, but they were already booked for my date (which is also a wedding in May).

P.S. I am absolutely hitting up the wedding expo next week 😁

My vote goes to Maya Perry—she was right there at the top of my shortlist—but ultimately, Leon Productions just pulled ahead of her...

Joshua Brown2, thanks for the heads-up 🙂
I still need to pick out rings, which is why I'm wondering if the jewelers offer any special deals at the wedding expo. Will they even be there at the hotel? I didn't see any of them at Pampas last time.😢

I’m also putting my vote in for Maya Perry. I honestly think she’s a total genius. She was actually high up on my shortlist too, but in the end, I decided to go with Studio 69 instead.

Hey ladies, I was wondering if any of you have heard of Victoria Petrovic? She’s a makeup artist based out of Indianapolis... I’ve been searching forever for someone to handle my wedding makeup, and honestly, nobody really impressed me until I stumbled upon her Facebook page. Her work is incredible—she really highlights every detail without making it look like some heavy mask, which is exactly the vibe I'm going for. I actually liked her style so much that I’m planning to let her do my makeup without even doing a trial run. If she weren't all the way in 186 miles, I might consider a consultation, but at this point, I just trust my gut. I'd love to hear from anyone here who has actually used her services before 🙂

Since you've already got everything sorted, let me pick your brain on a few things. I still need to grab the booze and all the decor—you know, the little details for the hall, boutonnieres, the car stuff, etc. Do you have any recommendations? Where did you buy your drinks?

Oh, and I definitely need catering for the house party, including tents. I assume most companies offer that, but finding the right one is my biggest headache. We live in an apartment, but we're expecting a huge crowd, so I was thinking about setting up a tent right in front of our building... Has anyone tried doing that before? I'm worried about whether I need a permit or if I'll end up getting fined by the city... 🙂

Also, if anyone knows a great catering service that won't break the bank, please let me know!

Walter Moore5 I picked up some little decor details at Harp (table runners, glass vases, napkins). I also grabbed about 100 $5.25 balloons over in Pittsburgh. For the boutonniere materials, I went with Good Partner—specifically the Laura department store in Des Moines. Oh, and I found some garden fabric/landscape fabric that’s such a steal; it makes for wonderful decoration.
As for the drinks, I'm honestly clueless 🤷. We have everything we need for $50 right there in the hall, so if I want to grab some local beer, I'll definitely head over to the USA... I do have some homemade walnut liqueur, cherry brandy, and some moonshine on hand. I mean, with this recession, you have to save where you can!

Robin Chase7 said:well, she didn't even show up for me on my wedding day, so I can't really speak to her being reliable.

Honestly, now I'm starting to get anxious that she won't make it either—especially since she still has to drive all the way 186 miles out to 🙂 my place.

Hey girls.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a solid photographer who won't break the bank? I just need someone for the church ceremony and some shots right outside. They don't need to come to the house or hang out with us after the wedding. It’s a tiny group—only about 15 people total, just the immediate family and godparents. Is that even possible to find? The wedding is going to be in the Buffalo area.
