dustypanther12 said:Nancy, what happened to the rest of the catering options in the area? How large is the wedding guest list? As for the musicians, my friends, I can't recommend them enough—specifically the group from the Bosut area, the Kristals, or that local folk band; even the Midwest ensemble is legendary... though I suppose the guests' energy will vary depending on who shows up.

Hey Joe Biden...😉 I did a little digging into the venues. Apparently, Tena's place is fantastic; everyone raves about it, and the pricing seems to be right in line with Jane's venue... We're looking at roughly 200-250 guests... I should probably check out the Hilton near Indianapolis as well...
A few months back, my dear, we were at a wedding in a small town, USA, at the Smith venue... man... it was incredible. 😍 The hall itself is beautiful and has this simple, clean aesthetic, but the service? Honestly, it was the best I've ever experienced. The staff—the guys and girls—were relentless in the best way possible. They were moving through the room all night, swapping out pizza, checking in to see if anyone needed anything, constantly refilling plates with meat, sides, and salads. They were cutting the cake and going table to table to offer it. Even the coffee was top-tier, served with those little cream containers. Total perfection...👍 Unfortunately, it's a bit further away than we'd prefer, so it's likely off the table for us. 😢 They had this jazz band that played incredibly well, but I haven't caught their name yet... I'll let you know when I find out. 😁

rustyjackal26, I guess I’d really recommend checking out the Zelengaj Hall over near Memphis—it’s kind of right halfway between Indianapolis and St. Louis, if that helps at all. We actually had our wedding there last year, and honestly, we had such an amazing time, it was just too good.

I don't think Victoria showed up for makeup duty either, so I guess her neighbor had to step in and save the day just enough to get things moving.

The venue we initially looked at in Memphis feels a bit out of alignment with our overall logistics... we were really aiming for something closer to the Gunther area since that’s where the church ceremony is happening. We just don't have the desire to trek across half the Midwest just to get to the reception hall... 😁 but I appreciate the suggestion nonetheless. I'll definitely give it some thought...🙂

By the way, does anyone here have experience working with Camellia, that florist over in the Gunther area? I've been browsing their portfolio and their arrangements look stunning... and from what I hear, their pricing is actually quite reasonable. I spotted two gorgeous red rose bouquets for about $100..😍

So, she decides to head back home to touch up her makeup, thinking she can still make it, but she’s already running late and somehow managed to book four girls at once. I guess she was in such a rush that she ended up needing to redo her own face anyway. She blew me away the first time, but this? This was just a disaster.

I was at a wedding this past Saturday where TS Salaš was playing, and honestly, those guys were incredible.🙂 They play everything from Midwestern classics to coastal hits and local favorites... they absolutely electrified the entire room. I’ve already reached out to them to see if they're available, so now I'm just waiting to hear back.🙂

Hey there, wedding planners 🙂 finally showing up. Just read through everything from start to finish 🙂 and honestly, my brain is fried. Everyone’s got their own opinion and their own way of doing things. I’m totally lost. Anyway, I’m getting married next year and we’re already diving into the chaos. The wedding is going to be in Memphis at a local venue, but I need killer recommendations for everything else!!!
1. A super talented, creative photographer who actually has ideas so I don't have to micromanage every single pose.
2. An amazing band.
3. Makeup artists.
That’s the priority right now... I’ve already reached out to a few people and so many spots are already booked up 😢 (((
Thanks guys! :*

I’d love to hear what kind of flowers or decor you guys went with for your big day, and more importantly, what kind of damage it did to your budget....

Zachary Martin10 said:I was actually hoping to get the Victoria model too, but I saw some talk on the forums about how it didn't show up on time and was delayed... which was a bit disappointing 😲

Yeah, I heard that too :/

Hey there, Zachary Kim3... 😉 I’m still pretty new to all this, but from what I’ve gathered through my circle of friends and reading through the threads here, Ana Coric is supposedly top-tier for makeup. Apparently, she can even come right to your house along with a hairstylist to get you fully ready...
As for the music, it really just comes down to your budget and what kind of vibe you’re actually looking for...🙂

Fine, I'll check out Ana... I already reached out to Victoria, who was mentioned on here before. There were pros and cons. 🙂The band is a huge deal to me 🙂 and so is the photographer... As long as the price is reasonable. Not like this one photographer who tried to charge me 17 bucks per photo $167!!!! 🙂

Hey everyone—does anyone know if that little shop over in Canada near the border is still open? I’m looking for wedding decor—you know, things like cheap ribbons, organza, bows, and that sort of stuff. People usually suggest making DIY decorations for the aisle, but honestly, traveling all the way out there feels like a bit much.

From the bands I’ve heard personally, or heard people talking about, for roughly $3333 you’ve got The Passage, Still, Quatro, Vigor, Bolero, and Sax... From what I can gather from the discussions on this forum, those are the heavy hitters in that specific price bracket. Most of them should have their own websites where you can dig into their style or listen to some recordings... Personally, The Passage, Vigor, and Sax stood out to me the most. 🙂
As for photographers, I don't have much experience there, but my cousin recently used Mark (http://mark.org/) and I thought his work was excellent. The photos they took were really high quality. I'm not sure exactly what he charges, but I'd bet he isn't asking for more than $3333..XD

I think he’s probably looking at around 6,000 or 7,000. Also, does anyone happen to know the typical price range for Studio 69?

If you head across from the market, there's a small side street, and you'll find another shop tucked away on the right side of that alley. 😉

I DIY'ed everything—glass vases, decorations, candles, pebbles, bows, tulle, table runners, even those little bottle stoppers, plus some artificial flowers. Total cost came to about $600, and I'm dropping another 750 on the florist for the bouquet, boutonnieres, and church arrangements.

I went to the corridor area and found absolutely nothing. But in Harkany? I found everything. There's a street right across from the market; take the second shop on the right. They've got plastic bins and stuff outside, but inside, they have everything you could possibly need. And everything is half the price of what we pay here.

By the way, my wedding is in two weeks, so I'll be selling my vases and anything else worth keeping. If anyone's interested, I'll post pictures of how I set up the hall.

Just a heads-up: the florist would've charged me around $1167 for what I wanted, but doing it this way is costing me $333. If I sell the vases, it'll be even cheaper. It's definitely worth doing it yourself because local florists are outrageously expensive. The only thing is, I'm using artificial flowers, and I know some people insist on strictly real ones.
