Mladen Djalok at DND Dance Club. I know he does private sessions, definitely in Indianapolis, but maybe in Columbus too, I guess.

Hmm, maybe try reaching out to Phoenix? I know a few people there! Back when we were taking those group classes, some folks were actually doing one-on-one sessions with Anna or Michael. It was pretty great.

Anyone in the Indianapolis area know a good stylist for hair and makeup? I’d love some recommendations—if you have links to their portfolios, that would be amazing. Thanks!:-

Hey, does anyone happen to know where I could rent some large patio umbrellas for my house around Indianapolis? I'm looking for something in white or beige if possible.

What exactly do you mean by that?

I was wondering if any of you all have ever actually tried hiring photographers and videographers from two separate studios for a wedding? I’m curious how that usually turns out in the end—does it work out okay, or is it a bit of a mess?

I checked out the work from Zoe Photography and Blic Photography in Savannah—saw both the photos and the videos. Honestly, they’re both great, and the prices aren't half bad either.

I was wondering if anyone here has actually hired or seen the Brava Band from Slough before?? They seem to have a pretty big reputation, so I’m curious—what kind of genres do they usually lean into when they play? Thanks a ton!

If I recall correctly, Vigus rents out tents and high-top tables, so maybe check with them to see if they have umbrellas too!

I need some help tracking down a photographer. Does anyone here have experience with any of the local pros out in the Midwest? Specifically, who would you recommend hiring over in St. Louis? Thanks.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about their photography, but I haven't heard much regarding their video work... the price seems a bit high $2000 when you factor in those extra credits.

My cousin picked up her bands there—spent about $3k.

We ended up going to a shop in St. Louis instead. We went with white gold—mine has five cubic zirconia set in it—and we managed to snag a discount $817. Honestly, we couldn't be happier; the rings are gorgeous. The guy had a decent selection, too. Standard gold weight 44 miles.

Basically, everyone I know who bought their jewelry in the South didn't pay more than $3k.

Midwesterners, besides those treats from Small town, USA and the sweets from Small town, USA, does anyone else have any experiences to share?

Any little delights from Small town, USA? How are their pastries? (They don't seem to respond to inquiries, as far as I can tell)...

hey there!
Not sure if you've heard of SWEET DREAMS FROM CHARLESTON, they did the catering for my cousin's wedding and man, let me tell ya, they are awesome. You can find them on Facebook, here's the link

I know they stay pretty busy, but definitely give 'em a shot. They make those legit, homemade-style cakes and pies, plus they aren't too pricey and the lady running it is super sweet. Hope that helps you out a bit!🙂

Jewelry pricing is mostly calculated by the gram (unless you are looking at full sets), so a specific price tag doesn't tell you much on its own. The minor issue is that jewelers often refuse to disclose the price per gram for unknown reasons. Instead, they weigh the ring, calculate the total, and multiply it by the gold rate on a calculator... which makes it easy to reverse-engineer the math. About two years ago, I was traveling through the Midwest and parts of Ohio to browse shops, and everything was relatively close together. Word is that prices are even more competitive in certain southern states compared to what you find elsewhere.

Exactly. They don't want to give you the breakdown because it feels like they just charge everyone whatever "feels right" in the moment.
They told us gold was going for 44 miles, and our ring ended up being 423 miles (9.07g), which works out to 47 miles per gram. Then we realized they totally ignored the 10% discount they were advertising on the local news stations. We had to push back a bit—they tried claiming they didn't run any promos. Finally, we got it. We just made it clear we came in specifically for that deal, put on our best "unhappy customer" faces, and eventually secured the discount 😁 and my God

Anyway, we’d budgeted maybe $5k max for a ring, but it ended up costing about half that. 😉

What’s the deal with the pros and cons of "Iris" versus "Jaka (Valentina)" over in Des Moines? I can't quite decide which one to go with...

I see engagement rings are all the rage lately. If I were jumping in on this trend, we’d probably head out to Des Moines since we heard things are way cheaper there.
And honestly, they aren't kidding. Our local shops charged us $667. White gold, man... around here, you're looking at $3,000 or even more.
They took our measurements on Wednesday, and wouldn't you know it, they already called today to say they're ready.

I'm actually wondering about this too. Does anyone know if I could just DM you the name of the jewelry store?
