I'm not entirely sure I follow why there would be some sort of formal correspondence directed at a specific priest, I suppose? In my case, I was married by my uncle rather than my local pastor, and all I ever mentioned to the priest was my preference to have my uncle officiate, and that was really it.

Nice nickname, though! 🙏

So, ladies, shouldn't we be looking to settle down in our neck of the woods? If that's not the case, then 😢 By the way, I recently heard about this lounge or restaurant called Green Grove or something similar located in a small town in the Midwest, but I can't find a single thing about it online. No photos, no website—nothing! How am I supposed to find out anything? Driving all the way out there just to realize I wasted my time sounds like a terrible idea... 😢

Oh, please! Of course we still get married. Thank God it’s not like in a massive city like NYC where you have to start planning years in advance just to stand in a room. 😉 Take me, for example—I’m getting married in August. I’ve already got the venue, the band, and the photographer locked in, and I’m starting on everything else once the New Year hits. 😁

And honestly, I have to vent about how hard it is to find decent websites that actually give you the info you need. 👎 That's why we really have to rely on the info we find here on this forum. 😍

Hey. My cousin was just working over there, so I can ask him what it’s actually like if you're interested. He mentioned something called Zelengaj.🙂 And where exactly are you from?

A brand new banquet hall just opened up in Memphis, right near Petrovac. It is absolutely stunning, truly, though I must admit the price tag is quite steep. The moment I stepped inside, I was completely smitten by the atmosphere, but we ultimately decided against booking it because the menu costs upwards of $67 per person... and they don't even allow you to bring your own food or drinks...

That banquet hall in Petrovac—you seriously don't get nearly enough food compared to other spots. I've got a reliable source on this... and honestly, what's the point? It's way too expensive

Does nobody actually have the phone numbers for some of these bands?

People are always complaining about how everyone is constantly busy, but how can bands be "busy" if absolutely nobody has their contact info?

Or is it just that we don't have them??

Please help me out here.

evo, check out Trend from St. Louis, http://www.grupa-trend.com/
they're playing the New Year's Eve party at Ante Starčević Square, so you can go hear them in person if you want.

Happy New Year, everyone!😍 By the way, I actually tracked down a page for that greenery salad thing we discussed, but the venue is way too far out and they cap everything at 250 guests, so unfortunately, that’s a dead end. 😢 On a brighter note, I just heard that the Crystal restaurant finally opened up in Slough, so my partner and I are planning a trip out to the Midwest around the 15th to check it out. Honestly, this might be my last shot if I want to actually get married this year. I’m originally from a small town near New Orleans, and believe me, trying to pull off a wedding there is an absolute nightmare—I know firsthand because my sister got married two years ago. You have the same handful of florists, bands, and caterers, and it feels like you're just seeing the exact same people at every single wedding...

Greetings to everyone. I would like to kindly ask Ivy to send me Ten's phone number, as I am planning on hosting my wedding guests there. Since I am currently away from the Midwest, I find myself unable to access the contact information through my usual channels. Thank you all in advance for your assistance.

I’ve been looking into wedding venues or restaurants that can accommodate about 250 guests in the Midwest area, specifically around Slough or Požega. I’m originally from Nova Gradiska, though I’m living in Chicago now. Every venue we’ve checked out down there seems to be nothing more than a local fire hall or a community center (which is what my sister ended up using), but we’re really hoping for somewhere a bit more upscale—somewhere where we don't have to handle all the heavy lifting ourselves, since we won't be able to manage everything on our own. The Matićević place in Slough is booked up solid for ages, and the Zdjelarević spot just isn't my style at all. As for the others, I'm still in the dark. I did hear that a new venue called Crystal recently opened up in Slough, so I'm planning to go check it out if you've heard anything about it...

This venue is absolutely stunning—I managed to snag it, and the wedding is only a few months away!
I'm pretty much a newbie here... I've been lurking and reading through everything for a while now, but I finally decided to sign up so we can actually swap ideas... The big stuff is already checked off my list... so now I'm diving into the rest of the chaos

Congratulations! I saw Tim's photos and they look absolutely stunning. On my end, I actually managed to track down the contact info for the coordinator at that Crystal ballroom venue—and get this, they haven't even officially opened yet, just two weeks out from the grand opening! They have two different halls available, one for 350 guests and another for 500. If you're planning a more intimate wedding, they can set up round tables. My package is all-inclusive, so my partner and I are heading down to Miami in two weeks to check the place out in person, but I have a feeling it's the perfect spot. I hope this helps someone out!

I have to agree, the hall looks absolutely stunning... where did you happen to see those photos?
I’m also curious if anyone has heard anything regarding how they handle the logistics—you know, things like the catering staff, the servers, and the overall flow of service.

I figured I’d jump in here too... my partner and I just went ahead and booked Mia’s venue in Des Moines for June 7th, 2009, and we managed to snag Boeing to play the same night. Honestly, I was pretty shocked we actually found an open slot in August, especially since everyone kept telling us it would be impossible to make that work. What’s the consensus on this venue and the band?
I’ve been to that hall a thousand times before, so I have a good idea of what to expect. We’ve officially locked it down, though we haven't touched the details regarding catering or drinks yet... I'm wondering what we should be looking out for, and what kind of balance we can expect between price and quality of service? Any advice at all would be appreciated. Thanks!

I guess I should probably introduce myself as just another Midwestern girl joining this forum 🙂
hi everyone! I mainly popped in because I'm looking for some info that seems to be all over these threads, and maybe I can share a bit about my own journey trying to track down everything for a wedding. I'm actually having my big day in Indianapolis in a few months, so I was wondering if anyone might have heard anything about the band Coca-Cola or any photographers from Photo Inch.

thanks so much 🙏

They have a great selection and the prices aren't bad.. if I hadn't been set on Maggie Sottero, I would have gone there for sure..

Hey Amaryllis—I actually have to ask you something! I ended up putting a deposit down on a Maggie Sottero gown at Isabelle's too, though now that I think about it, it feels like it might have been worn a few times already, so I'm feeling a little unsure. Which one did you end up getting? Are you happy with it?

So, I was down in Tennessee for my cousin's wedding once—and honestly, the servers were top-tier, and the chef? Absolute legend. He’s basically my neighbor too, if you want to get technical about it...

Tennessee isn't bad either, but it doesn't compare to somewhere like Admiral..

What date were you at those weddings in Tennessee? Maybe we were there at the same 😁

When a friend of mine got married, they hired double the usual amount of servers that the owner of Tennessee recommended, and it actually worked out well. If they had stuck to the standard staffing, it wouldn't have been pleasant (one server for 60-70 people 👎). The wedding itself was excellent because the band kept the energy high for five hours straight. As for the venue, it’s pretty much average compared to other halls. The main perk is its location right in town, making it the easiest choice for most local weddings since there's no long drive, allowing guests to enjoy themselves without worry
.
Also, the couple ended up paying for several extras themselves. Because they were covering those additional costs, they practically had to beg the owners to provide them, as the management was really trying to save the couple money 😬
Why bother with late-night snacks? It adds so much to the bill... Why hire more servers? Why even bother with extra cream for the coffee? $667 :😵

Overall, it required some negotiating with the venue owners, but everything turned out exactly how the couple wanted
