We stopped by the busiest, most popular coffee shop in town... so... I'm honestly pretty worried... we're going to check with a few other places too, but I have my doubts—if the folks at this one are telling the truth 😕
I really hope I can find them, otherwise all my little plans for decorating those bottles will just go down the drain 😢😢😢

They told me Coca-Cola isn't moving that fast in local cafes lately, so it's tough to collect them. But hey, we got these little bottles at a wedding once—they were from an Ice Age cooler, wrapped in twine at the bottom with a tricolor ribbon on top. Looked awesome
🙂 these are the bottles

Also, they mentioned those are the returnable bottles where businesses get a nickel back, so they don't really like letting them go. Maybe just offer to buy them out from under them... 🤷

Chloe Evans6, what kind of look were you going for with those little bottles?
Are you thinking about drawing something on them?
I’d love to jump in, but I’m honestly feeling a bit stuck for inspiration right now.

Thanks, Betty Foster8, for the suggestion and the advice... I’ll definitely have to keep that in mind if I can't track down any Coca-Cola—which I actually prefer since they're smaller and just look cuter

And Bradley Wright—I was thinking about decorating them with glass paint, you know, using those outliner pens...
I haven't decided on the exact design yet, but probably nothing too crazy... just our names and the date...
If I go overboard with the drawing, I feel like it's just unnecessary—I'd end up wasting way more paint, and it might look too cluttered (I mean, it's fine if it's just a picture, but once you add names and dates on top of that... then it's just a little tooooo much, in my opinion) plus, I'm personally not much of an artist myself😂
What about you though?! What were you thinking...?

I was actually thinking about sticking to our names too, and I’ve already got a shockingly cool hat ready to go,
but since the whole theme is silver and blue, I really don't want to clash by adding some wild, multicolored
designs. My thought was to pick two or three simple patterns to wrap around all the bottles.
What do you think? I'm looking at painting 200 bottles here, and if they end up being too rainbow-heavy,
I’m worried the whole thing might end up looking like a total circus

Hey ladies!

Saw some talk about flowers a few pages back, so I figured I’d jump in with my experience. Everyone kept telling me that Mrs. Ivanov had the cheapest rates, but I wasn't about to just drive out there and order without doing my homework first. I'm pretty meticulous, so I even did a couple of trial runs for hair and makeup.

After hitting up a bunch of different florists, I finally made my choice—and I definitely didn't regret it. First, I made a list of everything I wanted and took it to several shops to compare quotes. Honestly, the claim that she's the cheapest? Total myth. The prices at the shop over in the Midwest and the one near Trump's place were basically the same, within $100 $67 either way. For me, it wasn't just about finding the lowest price; I wanted quality too.

By the end of the night, everyone was staring at my flowers and asking who did them.

I was obsessed... the arrangements were so tasteful and incredibly fresh.

Mary from the Femme salon handled my hair, and Daria did my makeup. Their work was easily my favorite part. On the wedding day, people couldn't stop complimenting me—they actually couldn't believe it was me, since I'm usually such an athletic, low-maintenance type.

So, girls, don't just chase the lowest price. Look at the quality.

Aesthetics were my top priority, and honestly, everything turned out perfect.

Regarding the flowers, I really can't say for sure if Jack from Ivanov's place is the cheapest, so I won't comment on that. The reason I mentioned her is simply because she was recommended to me specifically for her massive selection of candle holders, which I needed since I wasn't planning on having a ton of floral arrangements. It isn't just about ignoring price; you have to weigh it against quality, and you definitely need to scout the options across the city thoroughly. I believe everyone will find something that fits their specific taste and the depth of their wallet. 🙂 That florist near Trump—I think the owner's name is Ivanka—is more like Stephanie's funeral parlor style, and she's perfectly fine with me. To be honest, I don't know how her wedding work is, but back when I lived in NYC, my mom and I used to buy flowers from her for all sorts of occasions, and she is truly a lovely woman.

To keep things from looking way too busy, you could just write everything in silver ink and then maybe draw two little hearts in blue next to the names..
that could actually look really cute...😉
Personally, I'd prefer if all the bottles looked uniform... basically, pick one design and mass-produce them like a factory line 😁
that's exactly how I'm going to do it—everything will be identical...😍
By the way, did you already get those bottles (the ones from Sprite, right?) if so, where on earth did you find them...

Quality and style come first for all of us! I'm not even from NYC, and honestly, if ten different people who've had weddings in the last two years all recommend that lady, then she clearly knows what she's doing. This is the first time I've ever heard anyone claim she's the cheapest. So, who ended up doing your flowers? Was it the place downtown near Trump? I was thinking about hiring Darian... is she the girl from the FB group?

My mom actually dug up some old bottles of Fanta because
she went through all her friends who run local coffee shops and diners
asking them to save them for us.
I'm looking for about 200 pieces, but at this rate, I’ll probably end up with
way too many.
How many do you need? I might have enough to cover you, too.

Man, I really feel bad now that it looks like I was attacking someone. My bad to anyone who took my post that way. I was just sharing my own experience... everyone’s gonna pick what fits their taste and budget, obviously.

This forum has helped me out so much with wedding planning, so I just wanted to mention the aesthetic side of things. For me, keeping it pretty, simple, and not tacky was the whole point...

Sorry again.

This forum was such a massive help to me when I was planning my wedding, so I just wanted to weigh in on the aesthetic side of things. For me, the priority was keeping everything elegant, simple, and completely free of tacky clutter.

So, sorry again.

Look, there’s no shame in that at all. I’m not even active on FB myself; I handle basically everything through email and phone calls. Honestly, I can't really claim to give "expert" advice—I'm just passing along what I've heard from others.
At the end of the day, it's always good to hear different perspectives. That’s exactly why forums exist, right? To swap experiences.
By the way, if you don't mind me asking, who did you use for your photographer?

I’m looking to pick up about 80 of them
how many bottles would you actually have left over...?!

Also, one more thing...
if anyone could point me in the right direction for where to buy invitation paper...
where can I find the best deals🙂
I need some heavy cardstock (around 100lb), vellum, and some sisal—though I have no clue where to find that besides a hobby shop in Chicago (does anyone know any other spots?!)
I think I read somewhere that Staples or maybe Michael's might be good options...
so if anyone knows any other places or where it's most affordable, please let me know...🙂

Vicky was my photographer. My dad gets along great with her, so she really went the extra mile... I was super happy with how everything turned out.

Look, I didn't think you were trying to be negative or anything... and honestly, who’s going to stop you from calling out a shady vendor? I won't really know if those recommendations actually hold water until after my wedding is over, anyway. Plus, just because someone was a nightmare for me doesn't mean they wouldn't be perfect for someone else. Planning a whole wedding by yourself is just... it's brutal. Especially when you're in a city where you don't know anyone. If it wasn't for this forum, I swear I might have jumped off a building by now...
Anyway, girl, quick question for the group! I've noticed a lot of people here collecting little bottles, and I'm dying to find out where I can pick up some 0.2 oz sand glass vials around the Midwest. I checked in NYC, but the prices there are insane, like $2.25 per piece... so if anyone knows a spot or sees some for sale, please let me know...

hey... you can find some nice heavy cardstock at Allstate over on El Paso Street, right across from Stuc's (I bought some white stuff with a gold shimmer... hard to describe, but it looks $2.00, and it's about the size of 6 sheets of A4)... as for vellum, apparently the cheapest place is that bookstore across from the Clivia flower shop... can't remember the name... 😉

Look, we're tight with a couple of the servers, so we actually put them on the job to help us hunt some down, plus we know the owners of two local spots who gave us the all-clear too. When is the big wedding happening? If you need me to go out and find some for you, just say the word and I'll get it done. 🙂

Oh man, you are seriously a lifesaver! Thank you so much, Lady, I honestly don't know what I would've done without you. You totally bailed me out, so I'm definitely heading straight to the store right after I clock out today to grab everything. 🙂 Thanks again, seriously! 😉

Wait, you're planning on using that many bottles? I've got 300 guests coming, so I was just thinking maybe 50 would do—just enough for one type of bourbon. Do you think that's cutting it too close??

I went with the exact same approach. I just wrapped some twine around the neck of the bottle, tied a little bow, and slapped on a custom label with the bride and groom's names and the date underneath. It doesn't feel overdone at all, it looks pretty clean.👍
