Alright, I’m dragging myself together to write this slightly weird post with whatever energy I have left.
The thing is, I thought about making this a poll on Microsoft, but let’s be real—I wouldn’t get an answer anyway. People either ignore questions out of politeness or just stay silent for some other reason. So, here's the actual problem:
What is wrong with me?😕
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always had an opinion. I’ve always valued the truth, even when it sounds brutal or uncomfortable to hear.
The issue is that my take on things is almost always different from what 90% of the people around me think.
I’ve grown up, I'm finally moving past the puberty phase, but the problem hasn't gone away.
When I stumbled upon this forum, I honestly thought I might find some like-minded people since there are about 3,000 of us here, but nope. That hasn't happened.
In fact, every time I speak my mind, it just results in more people disliking me or disagreeing with me.
On top of that, I can be pretty explosive. I tend to post things in a really heated tone, and while I do apologize later, it doesn't exactly undo the damage once the words are out there. The bottom line is that even though I truly don't consider myself a bad person, I just can't seem to fit in. I’m just too different from everyone else, and it’s starting to actually hurt. It’s pushing me into a pretty dark hole.
I want to change, but I have no clue how, especially since I can't even figure out where I'm going wrong myself.🙂

Sorry if this is heavy.
Thanks in advance.🙂

How can you be so sure nobody agrees with the views you've shared in a post? There might be people out there who feel the same way. But to agree with everything you say, they’d practically have to follow you around and read every single thing you write.

When you stumble upon someone else's post and realize you're on the same page, what's your move? Do you automatically click "Find more posts by..." to see what else they have to say? Or do you shoot them a quick DM or find another way to let them know you're with them?

Or maybe you don't bother agreeing with anyone at all? 🙂

The reason is simple: I constantly get insulted by people here. Every once in a while, I’ll run into a thread I wouldn't normally touch, only to find people calling me stupid, arrogant, or rude.
It's getting exhausting because the number of people doing this keeps growing. It honestly leaves me feeling pretty drained. I know I'm not a bad person, and I certainly don't deserve to be intentionally provoked or, even worse, belittled just because of my age.😢
Too many people seem to have a problem with me, and I'm seeing zero positive vibes anywhere in sight.

Look, yesterday this would've been funny, but right now? Not really.😢
I guess we all have those moments where everything just hits the fan and you're basically out for the count...🙂

Look, the issue is that you can't just barge in, insult someone, and then expect an apology to fix everything. It doesn't work that way. 🙂

You simply have to learn self-control. Think twice before hitting "post" and you will save yourself a lot of trouble. 😁

Where would I even begin? If I responded to every single thing I disagreed with, I’d be in a heated argument with half the people on this forum within minutes. But honestly, I just don't have the patience for it, and we both know nothing good ever comes from fighting. 😉

Besides, there are plenty of people who think highly of you. 😉

Man, we all have those moments where everything just falls apart and you feel completely wiped out.🙂

Sorry, but I can't possibly take you seriously as long as you've got that ":D" in your username. SEE, THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!!11

Too many people have a negative opinion of me, while the positive ones are nowhere to be found.

...I've noticed a few users who constantly provoke others for no reason at all. You aren't alone in this... my take is that these people are just frustrated in their real lives and use the internet as a punching bag.🙂
Don't let it get to you; there is nothing wrong with you.😘

It feels like everyone has something negative to say about me, and I don't see any positive vibes on the horizon.

Are they attacking you out of nowhere, or is it only after you've pushed their buttons? 🙂

So, does this place have any off-topic subforums? I’m looking for those areas where provocation is basically part of the joke—the kind of chaos I was actually raised for. Look, nobody should take anything personally here, but I'm talking about those moments where I lay out a serious opinion only for someone to swoop in with some condescending bullshit or a direct insult. Then, to top it all off, they spend the rest of the week chasing me around the forum or trying to paint me as some idiot to everyone else.🙄
Honestly, I’m starting to feel a little awkward even speaking up here. It feels like if I don't align with everyone, I’m going to get dogpiled—and not even in a decent way, either. People just jump straight to calling me an idiot instead of actually debating the point. And yeah, look, I’m 17. But since when does having a few more years on someone mean they automatically win every argument? Age shouldn't be a shield against being told you're wrong.
Honestly, it’s kind of pathetic when people look down on young minds. They think they know better just because they've been around longer, but they're missing the point entirely.

I’m actually writhing in pain right now and thinking about posting my own thread over on the Health board, but I’ll tell you straight: I’ve got a grand total of 17 years under my belt (yeah, really!!), and there is absolutely no point in stressing over anything those men behind the screen say to you. You can vent about just about anything from the comfort of your own living room. Honestly, how much easier does it get?

And if this stuff starts happening in RL too—which I can't speak to empirically since I don't exactly have one—and people start giving you grief because they're older and you're young, just tell them, "I'll break your hip!" and watch how fast they back off. :gle: :ima rima:

I’m just thrilled to see we’ve got more "experts" in our midst...
Honestly, I feel a little better now..
It's good to know there are still some sane people left out there🎉

Give me a break. Most of these people don't even know you. Besides, most people on this forum are just here to feed their egos or vent their frustrations anyway. Age implies experience, sure, but experience is subjective—it doesn't automatically equal wisdom or self-acceptance.

I dig your perspective.

People on this forum aren't even real people anymore; they're just forum addicts...
They express their emotions through hardware specs rather than actual feelings.

Honestly, you've got about as much capacity as a PC with 32MB of RAM...

Just show them some respect.

You’re just starving for attention.
You crave being the center of the universe.
You need everyone to shower you with praise, to look up to you, to be green with envy,
to sing your praises,
to offer you endless, unwavering respect.
Welcome to the adult world!

Alright, I get it. Now let the people who actually know what they're talking about weigh in. Quit poking the bear, you clearly don't have a clue how this game works.

It’s not like they missed the whole point of the game. It’s perfectly natural to crave attention—and just as natural to be blind to it when you're in the middle of it. Honestly, if you're seventeen, being different from everyone else and feeling misunderstood is basically part of the starter pack. Don't feel too special about it, though; you aren't the only one going through this.
