Carl Jackson85 said:So, here’s the deal with Lexus: it’s officially indicated for treating depression, OCD, or PTSD. They even use it to manage OCD in kids starting at age six. Just to be clear, though—these aren't sleeping pills or some quick sedative to take the edge off. The pitch is that Lexus can help you feel better and tackle the anxiety that often hitches a ride with depression... and that’s basically the official line from the pharmaceutical companies making them. As for the side effects? Most of what they list is pretty much the same stuff you see with any other antidepressant. I’m not going to bore you by listing them all here because, honestly, most of it feels trivial. Besides, let's be real: you’re never going to read about the *actual* nasty side effects in the official pamphlet. From a purely business standpoint, the manufacturers wouldn't find it profitable to explain those using plain English. Bottom line? If you want my two cents, stay as far away from those pills as you possibly can. They aren't going to "cure" anything. And whether they actually make an existing condition worse? Well, that's a whole different conversation. Look, I’ll be blunt: I fall into that group of people who have spent a hell of a lot of time dealing with psychotropic drugs and seeing firsthand how they work—or how they backfire. So, if anyone actually wants to dig into the reality of a specific medication or a diagnosis, feel free to reach out. Cheers.
Hey there...I was wondering about Cipralex 10mg. Does that side effect where it completely kills your sex drive eventually go away, or does it stick around as long as you're taking the medication? Also, how accurate is the claim regarding brain bleeding being caused by this drug? Thanks!

I’m looking to hear from anyone who honestly believes psychotropic drugs do more harm than good... ideally, if there are any psychiatrists or even pharmacologists in the house. I’m asking because I see a lot of people on this forum claiming their meds are doing wonders for them, but frankly, I highly doubt most people taking these pills—let alone praising them—actually have a clue about their chemical makeup or what they’re really putting into their bodies. Look, I get it; certain pills might help you knock out faster or take the edge off your nerves, but that’s just a temporary fix, and a very short one at that. What I'm concerned about is what actually happens to your brain when you're popping these things constantly. Now, feel free to tell me I’m acting like a know-it-all or whatever else you want to say, and go ahead and keep trusting your doctors blindly because, hey, they’re professionals and they "know what they’re doing." They certainly think they do. But the real question is: do you actually know what they're doing to *you*? Are they helping? Or are they making things worse?

Hehe, I suppose that little bear is actually pretty cute 🙂
Anyway, how have you been holding up health-wise? How’s the medication regimen treating you? I guess I’ve finally tossed out most of my pill collection... I'm down to just one... well, maybe two, if I'm being honest.

Also, for my routine: I take Faverin for depression, Tegretol as a mood stabilizer (though honestly, it mostly helps me sleep), and then either Normabagel or xanax.

Normabell and Xanax at the same time? I mean, isn't that pushing it just a little bit??
Personally, I only take Normabell, and honestly, it works way better for me than Xanax ever did.
I used to be on Depakote as a stabilizer, but that was a nightmare—it made me put on about 20 pounds and gave me these awful tremors and spasms... just a terrible medication, really. I don't touch it anymore.

Not both; it's one or the other.

Back at it again with yet another medication shuffle. My psychiatrist decided to pull the plug on my Prozac and swap it out for Wellbutrin instead. So, here is the current lineup:
Paxil 60mg
Wellbutrin 300mg
Zyprexa 10mg
Ambien 20mg
Xanax 0.75 mg
I’m curious—does anyone here actually have experience using Wellbutrin? I’ve been trying to convince myself that this specific cocktail of Paxil, Zyprexa, and Wellbutrin is going to be the magic fix. Honestly, the power of suggestion is a funny thing... I already feel a bit better, 🙂 even though, realistically, it's far too early for the Wellbutrin to actually kick in. But, well, there it is. If you've dealt with Wellbutrin before, please, let me know what your experience was like.

I’m just sticking to Normabell, and I suppose I might be the only one left here still dealing with an alkaloid like Methadone.

To circle back to the subject of psychotropic meds for depression... I had an appointment with my psychiatrist today regarding my current depressive episode, and she suggested that the Lexapro I’ve been on for such a long time just isn't quite potent enough for my specific situation. Consequently, she prescribed Ladiomil at 25mg to be taken once in the evening alongside my other medication.
I’ve been lurking on this forum and following this particular thread for quite a while now, yet I haven't really come across anyone who has actually used Ladiomil. I suppose I'm wondering if anyone here has any firsthand experience with it? Has anyone ever tried taking it?
From what little I could dig up online, it seems like it might be an older medication that isn't used much anymore...
Anyone out there? Any thoughts?

Yeah, Ladiomil is definitely an older drug. I was on it about 12 years ago, and honestly, it worked pretty well for me over a few months—side effects were minimal, mostly just some dry mouth and the occasional bout of constipation.

Twelve years ago?? Seriously? I wonder if they even bothered to offer me anything from a more recent generation back then.

Look, fadedbear92, I know there are plenty of discussions on those other forums, but I didn't really want to abandon this group just to jump ship somewhere else
plus, I suppose I wouldn't quite know what to do without you around...😁

Hey. I’ve been diagnosed with social anxiety and depression. I feel like I’ve cycled through a ton of meds already—tried Zyprexa, Lamictal, Prozac, and Paxil. Right now, I’m on Lexapro and Xanax, but honestly? None of them seem to be doing anything for me. I don't know what else to do... and man, living like this is just brutal. Anyone got any advice??

What about psychotherapy? Have you looked into that yet?
#2159 ·
Hey there! I was just wondering, where on earth can you actually find psychotherapy services around here? My psychiatrist mentioned that at our local hospital, they don't really offer any actual therapy sessions—they just prescribe me an antidepressant and call it a day. If I actually want to sit down and talk to someone, apparently I have to go through a private practice, and apparently a single session is going to run me about $30 or $40...😠

Ashley Thomas5 yeah, tell me about it... I’m dropping $300 every single time just to play... this sport is getting ridiculous😁
