Jason Vaughn482 said:Oh, tell me about it. That is pretty much how I spend my days too—just idling away the hours, waiting for evening so I can finally drift off. For the last week, I’ve stopped adding Calixta to my routine and have managed to fall asleep using Sanval instead. Usually, I’ll wake up around 5:00 AM, take another 0.25 Xanax, and then snooze my way back to 9:00 AM. I honestly don't know how other people manage; I wake up feeling incredibly anxious, with this constant, gnawing knot in my stomach. Most days, I’d rather stay under the covers forever, but eventually, I have to force myself to get up and try to pull myself together.

I feel the exact same way about all my meds. I only wake up because I absolutely have to; if I didn't have stuff to do, I’d probably just sleep through the entire day on them.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-medication—quite the opposite, really. It's just that I'm against taking the *wrong* stuff. You know, the kind that makes you feel even worse without actually fixing the underlying issue.

Where the hell can I pick up those earplugs? Aside from seeing a therapist, I’m losing my mind because I can't sleep—everything is too loud, from the honking outside to the neighbors slamming doors. It's driving me insane and I need those plugs ASAP. Where can I get them?
I've been dealing with this insomnia crap for forever. My doctor put me on some sleep aid for ten days, but it was useless; it worked for maybe three days max, then I spent seven straight nights wide awake even though I was supposed to be out cold. Then a coworker handed me some 10mg Diazepam, which helped for a few nights, but now even that isn't doing anything. I'm just lying there, wired and exhausted, knowing I have to work tomorrow. Every single workday is such a massive struggle when you're dealing with constant stress over money, the future, and everything else piled on top of you. I can't shut my brain off at night even when my body is completely dead; that damn brain of mine just runs at a hundred miles an hour and won't let me rest. Help—where do I buy those earplugs? I jump at every little sound. I am absolutely impossible when it comes to sleeping. 😢((((

Back in the day, 0.25mg of Xanax actually did the trick, but now even double the dose does nothing... I can't believe I've been cycling through pills for two or three years already. If someone had told me years ago that I'd end up like this, I would've called them crazy. But I guess life hits you with things you never see coming, and you should never say "never."

You can find noise-canceling earplugs at any local pharmacy, or even just head over to Walmart...

It’s somewhat comforting to see that someone actually took my suggestion into account. 😉 Personally, I live right next to a major highway with constant heavy traffic, so there are trucks and buses passing by incessantly; the noise is constant and quite disruptive.
I'm not entirely sure what kind of noise-canceling earplugs they carry over at CVS or Walgreens, or how much quality you can really expect from them...

Most men seem to know about Stihl (German quality), but Stihl is a giant factory with a presence all over the world, primarily producing tools and machinery for various industries, including hearing protection like those high-end earplugs for loud environments.

Gonna try stuffing some cotton in tonight for the first time🙂 but honestly, I’m already feeling a massive sense of relief and sleeping way better, even though my head is still spinning with a million different things to worry about...

Anyway, thanks for the tip on those earplugs... seriously killer advice. I know I need to get some Stihl gear, so I'll just have to find a real man to go out and grab them for me🙂)

So, you actually getting some decent sleep now???

Hey, where have you been hiding? Are you finally back in the land of the living? And more importantly, how on earth are you holding up with Calixt? Give me a shout when you can.😉

I actually already wrote a post and then deleted it regarding those earplugs and similar short-term fixes.
Just one question: don't you think someone would have thought of solving the problem that way a long time ago—total silence?!
Of course they have.
Why aren't doctors handing out earplugs like candy?
Clearly, something in this whole situation isn't adding up.
I didn't want to reply to @miligram because I haven't exactly left him with a positive impression. But, no matter.
When you put high-quality German-engineered earplugs in your ears, do you really think your ears know the difference between American and German quality?
Those are just standard industrial earplugs meant for workers in extreme noise environments; they aren't comfortable at all, especially not for wearing all night long.
I welcome any idea that might help solve these problems, but I really can't support this medical system approach of "just hold on until the experts figure it out."
In the end, we always have the option to ask our doctors about earplugs.

I’ve been relying on earplugs to deal with insomnia for about 15 years now... I need my room pitch black and absolutely silent to get anything done. My ENT said it was perfectly fine, and honestly, all those years of trial and error have just proven that it works for me.

I used to use those standard yellow foam ones you find at any CVS, but for the last couple of years, I’ve switched to these and they’re incredible because the fit is much more anatomical: http://www.google.com/search?q=ohropa...w=1917&bih=857

You can pick them up at most pharmacies or even at a Walgreens. Cotton balls don't do squat, they're way too thin to block out noise 😁

Some people can't stand having things in their ears, but I got used to them pretty fast... definitely better than dealing with constant background noise.

The plugs are really just an extra tool to help me manage the insomnia...

Morning, everyone!
I’ve already bumped my dosage up to 125 mg of Zoloft plus 150 mg of Wellbutrin...
How much longer can this go on?
They just keep hiking my Zoloft dose; I'll feel fine for two months, and then the depression hits again, and I'm left with the exact same thought. It feels like I can handle the massive life crises without breaking a sweat, yet the smallest, most trivial nonsense completely throws me off balance, and I just can't seem to get steady again. If things keep going this way, I'll be hitting the absolute maximum dose of Zoloft pretty soon... and then what? 🙂🙂

I see zvonx is on Trazodon. Anyone else here actually using it who can give me the rundown? I'm mainly trying to figure out if it even touches insomnia...

What about Ladiomila? If you don't mind, could someone write up a bit (maybe a lot 😁) about how it works, the side effects, whatever... thanks!

Look, whatever the deal is, I totally blanked on that, so I definitely need to give it a shot. Noise is driving me absolutely insane right now, so if there’s even a slight chance this can dampen the sound, I'm in. If having stuff shoved in my ears feels unbearable—whether it's some cheap drugstore earplugs or those foam ones—then I guess I'll just have to call it quits... but man, I really need to find some way to help myself here. Thanks for the input, seriously!

I was on Ladiomila for about 6 weeks, just 25mg at night. Hardly any side effects, except maybe feeling a bit groggy during that first week. It really calmed my nerves, especially that morning anxiety I deal with. It worked well, but I gained 7 lbs in those 6 weeks, so I called my doctor and we stopped it. Didn't do much for my fears, though—and I didn't take it long, which is a shame because the weight gain sucked. My appetite was insane. Once I quit, I dropped 4 lbs within a week. It was decent otherwise, and I was on a low dose. Not sure what happens if you take more or if the side effects ramp up. Currently on Citram, 5 mg in the morning.

Man, that's a lot of weight to pack on that fast. I'm guessing it's either because you were eating everything in sight or it just slowed down your metabolism...

Did you have trouble sleeping before starting it? That's mainly what I'm trying to figure out, if it actually helps with sleep.

I'm still weighing my options with Calixt, because honestly, it feels pretty heavy during the day, kind of sedating, and leaves me feeling wiped out...

The general rule for Calixta is to take it in the evening. Or perhaps twice a day—once in the morning and once at night—depending on the specific dosage you've been prescribed. Personally, I take 45 mg at night and I don't feel completely wiped out the next morning. Then again, can one truly be an expert here? I am taking a whole mountain of other medications myself, so I suppose I cannot claim any absolute certainty.🤷

I’m looking for some advice here. I’ve been dealing with depression for quite a while now, but things got complicated because my former doctor kept prescribing me Misar for way too long. Now, my current physician is telling me straight up that I’ve developed a dependency on it. My current routine involves taking 1mg in the morning and then 0.5mg three times throughout the day. I’m fully aware that I need to taper off gradually, but the real issue is that I feel like I can't function at all without it. Does anyone have insight on how to successfully wean myself off Misar while still maintaining enough stability to actually live my life? For context, I’m also taking Fevarin alongside the Misar.

If you’ve got the right therapy, earplugs are useless. Our insomnia isn't caused by the noise outside; it's coming from within.
ja when I'm on Prozac and Klonopin without Seroquel, I have to watch my caffeine intake like a hawk. But with Seroquel? I can go wild on all sorts of stimulants because I know I'll just crash out hard at night anyway, regardless of whatever chaos is happening right next to my head.

Kenneth Scott41 said:I suppose I should address what Kevin Bailey2 mentioned earlier. It’s an interesting perspective, though perhaps a bit more optimistic than I’d personally care to be about how things usually play out. Looking at the current situation, it seems like we're all just navigating a rather complicated landscape, isn't it? One might think that certain patterns would eventually lead to a clearer outcome, but I suspect reality tends to be much more messy and unpredictable than our theories suggest. Maybe I'm being too cautious, or maybe I've just seen this cycle enough times to know that nothing ever goes quite according to plan. Regardless, it’s worth considering how these shifting dynamics might affect us in the long run.

I sometimes find myself wishing my brain functioned anything like a Windows operating system—specifically, if I could just trigger a system restore to some specific date in the past. It would certainly make things easier if I could just roll back the clock whenever things start getting messy.😛 I suppose I would have gone back to taking it if that 1mg dose of Xanax had hit me hard enough to make me struggle through a simple conversation. It’s just one of those things... honestly, redcrane22, I find myself feeling a bit envious of you. If you can actually drift off from just 1mg of Xanax or 10mg of Valium, it suggests your brain hasn't quite learned how to react to benzodiazepines yet. My own neurochemistry feels like it's been completely torn apart by now; I've reached a point where even higher doses of Xanax or Valium don't seem to touch me anymore.🙄
I couldn't catch a wink of sleep last night, so I ended up taking a Dormicum in the middle of the night, but honestly, it didn't do a damn thing. I eventually dragged myself out of bed around 7:00 AM feeling like a total zombie, mostly because I had to rush to the bathroom—it felt like my bladder was being kicked by someone. It took me about thirteen minutes just to finally finish up, which was an ordeal in itself. I was sitting there, completely lost on what to do next, when it finally clicked... I realized I’d forgotten the cap.😁 I downed a glass of water, popped my pills, and finally managed to drift off. I ended up sleeping right through until about 3:30 in the afternoon. 🙂 Honestly, forget about Dormicum; it’s a total rip-off. It costs an absolute fortune, and yet, I guess it barely even does anything at all.

Oh, Miligram, 😍 I’m doing a bit of a mix myself. 😁
One day it’s Sanval, the next it’s nothing, then maybe some Xanax, then Diazepam, and so on.
That’s why everything feels sort of 🤣
to me. I’m fully aware of what would happen if I did exactly what you're doing. There was actually a period where nothing seemed to work for calming down or sleeping, so I just made a clean break and started doing this instead. 😁

I take 30 mg of Calixta right before bed, and it's not just the waking up part that sucks, I feel groggy and wiped out all damn day...

Are those really the only pills you're taking?
You shouldn't be feeling this way for such an extended period. Is it even safe to stay on them this long? I know everyone reacts differently, of course, but this seems excessive. Could it be some sort of interaction with another medication? Or perhaps your body just isn't responding quite right to the Calixt?
Do you feel any better when you aren't on the Calixt?
