Is anyone else taking Xanax?
I used to be on about 6-8mg a day, but honestly, I didn't feel much of anything when I took it—just zero change in how I felt. My psychiatrist eventually bumped me down to 3mg and suggested I try testing out the lowest possible dose, so I just went ahead and dropped straight down to 1mg. Still, nothing changed.
When I take my Xanax, it feels like I just popped a flavorless Tic Tac. 🤷

Had my checkup yesterday. My Effexor dose was bumped up to 75 mg, and I’m still taking Calixta in the evenings—though I’ll admit I’m inconsistent because getting out of bed in the morning is such a struggle. Told my doctor that, so she added 50 mg of Sulpiride for the mornings. It’s the anxiety that gets me; it feels like this constant tension, like I'm on the verge of a panic attack even when I'm not actually having one.
Has anyone here used Sulpiride or Eglonyl? I’ve read all the clinical stuff regarding ingredients and side effects, but I want to know what it’s actually like from people who have taken it. Does it actually touch the anxiety for you? I know everyone reacts differently, but I value the input here. I know there were threads about Sulpiride from a while back, but if anyone is currently on it, let me know how it's working. Any side effects even at these low doses? Or any benefits?
Popped two 37.5 mg Effexor pills this morning (until I hit the doctor tomorrow to get the 75 mg script) and somehow I already feel physically stronger. Is it possible to feel that immediately after a dose increase—I've been on 37.5 mg for almost five months—or do I really need to wait a few days?
Too many questions, I guess, but your experiences mean a lot. One more thing... for those on Effexor, is the standard 75 mg better than the extended-release version I was given? Personally, I find Xanax or the regular version works better for me than the XR.

Usually, the standard stuff hits harder than Xanax, but Xanax lingers—it just kind of washes over you all day long.
But hey, whatever works for you 😁

Unknown, I see people are still drinking Calistoga. I tried it once and, honestly, never again. I woke up at 4 PM after my shift ended, totally oblivious to the fact that I actually had to be back at work by 7 AM. My mom was trying to shake me awake for my job, and I didn't even flinch.
What a nightmare 😁

Yeah, feels about the same for me. I take half or a quarter of a 15mg dose along with Lexapro and I can barely crawl out of bed in the morning, and that’s a tiny amount. But then you see Unknown claiming they take 45mg and don't even feel hungover. Honestly, if I took that much, I wouldn't wake up until spring. One weekend I took the whole 15mg prescription; I didn't get up until noon on Sunday, and the rest of the day I couldn't even tell which way was up.
Still waiting on questions regarding Sulpiride. Let me know if anyone is actually still taking that, or if it's just something nobody touches anymore.😍

Yeah, I take 0.5mg twice in the morning, then 0.5mg twice at noon, and the same again before bed—0.5mg twice.

Every once in a while, I'll take one extra pill if I'm feeling way too sensitive; it helps level me out nicely.

Maybe your body has just built up a tolerance to the higher doses—it's basically meant to act as a mood stabilizer and help with anxiety.

Have you noticed your mood swinging more heavily throughout the day?

I took Egylonyl Forte about seven or eight years ago when I was dealing with severe anxiety and depression. It worked well for me. An older psychiatrist prescribed it to me; she noted that many of her younger colleagues dismiss it in favor of newer, supposedly "better" medications. She didn't understand their reasoning, as she found the drug to be exceptionally effective in clinical practice and had seen excellent results. For me, it was great, and I was able to taper off without any issues. I didn't even experience sexual dysfunction, despite her warning me it might occur. But that is entirely individual. A prime example is those people here taking the "smart," modern drugs who suffer specifically from those side effects. That is all I have to say. Stay persistent. It worked well for me.

Thanks. Did it actually help with the anxiety? I can't seem to shake mine, no matter how many different antidepressants I try. Depression isn't even the main issue, really. It's more this constant tension, this nerve-wracking feeling that I'm going to snap, have some irrational breakdown, lose control, and end up losing my job. It happens at home too, though maybe slightly less than when I'm out. The anxiety is just always there.

Your experience mirrors exactly what I went through. To be fair, I was taking Normabest and Lamal alongside him at the time, and everything felt perfectly fine. Everything changed once they switched me over to Paxil after she retired. I stayed on top of things by attending group therapy sessions and strictly following my medication schedule. Believe me, I eventually managed to taper off the Normabest without any issues while continuing with the Paxil and Lamal. Currently, I am off everything except for the Lamal. I found Eglonyl to be quite tolerable, though you can see here the specific lingering symptoms I'm dealing with due to the Paxil.

I was taking Lamal back in the fall of 2012 when I was on Lexus, but neither of them really worked for me. I read that you're struggling with the Paxil, but I hope things turn around soon. Thanks again for the info on Sulpiride. It actually makes me feel a bit better knowing someone found relief with a med they prescribed me that I haven't even tried yet.

I don't think you have much to worry about. It worked wonders for me, and honestly, I'm glad I stuck with it, but things happen. There's no turning back now. Good luck with the Sulpiride :-)

Actually, I was dealing with those mood swings long before I started taking Xanax, and honestly, even when I was on 8mg a day, I had the exact same issues. So no, it doesn't help me at all.

I tried Eglonyl once and honestly, it wasn't anything special. My issues were pretty mild back then compared to now, and I wasn't nearly as anxious, yet that stuff couldn't even fix the little bit of anxiety I did have.

It just goes to show how much everyone's experience varies. My doctor typically prescribes it for two or three weeks a year whenever I hit a major crisis point. After that, he puts me on Sulpiride at either 25 or 50 mg. For me, it creates this sensation where nothing can really get under my skin, yet I don't feel drugged or out of it. As far as side effects go, the only thing I've noticed is a complete loss of libido. It certainly helps manage my anxiety, though I do find that it tends to dull some of my other positive emotions as well. Still, it isn't anything too catastrophic.

Everyone is different, sure, but I still like hearing people's experiences here. Once I start taking it, I'll see. Every time you start a new med, there's always a little bit of anxiety.

Man, I gotta correct myself 🙈.

Back then, I was dealing with a ton of stomach issues—which was also tied to my mental state (nausea and all that)—and this stuff actually helped with that. As for the psychological stuff (panic attacks, derealization, whatever), nothing really changed, but for the heavy physical sensations? It totally nailed the nausea. I gotta give credit where it's due 🙂

(Don't kill me for not remembering this sooner; I was on it from 2010 to 2011, but then I went on a much heavier regimen that basically wiped my memory 😁)

I was on a short course of 50 mg of Eglonil, and honestly, it seemed quite effective—it felt like a solid option for managing anxiety—but I had to cut it short because I broke out in this persistent rash. I might reconsider it down the road if things don't improve, though. Currently, I'm still on Calixta, though I deal with that morning fog; my doctor suggested that dropping from 15 mg to 30 mg might actually be counterproductive, claiming a higher dose helps mitigate that "drunk" feeling, but I haven't tested that theory yet. What I can say is that after staying on it for a while, that initial grogginess isn't nearly as overwhelming as it was at the start. Right now, I'm tapering down to 15 or even 7.5 mg; it’s not specifically meant for anxiety, but we'll see how it holds up when the morning haze hits. I'm responding here since I haven't had a chance to check my private messages yet, and I haven't been active on the forum since we last spoke.

I deal with gastritis and nausea constantly too, so if it helps there, it's a win. You saying the meds wiped your memory 🤣sounds about right. Sometimes forgetting everything isn't the worst thing. How’s your grandfather doing? Did he have the surgery?

My psychiatrist told me 30 mg is better than 15, too, but I just can't do it. 7.5 mg is my limit, even if the hangover eventually fades. As for sulpiride or eglonil, I'll see when I start. Maybe the combo of 75 mg Wellbutrin and sulpiride will finally work. Good luck with the portal, hope it goes well for you. Talk soon in the DMs.

So, I've been on Lexapro for about three weeks now, taking one pill every single morning, but honestly, I haven't noticed any real shift yet... I feel pretty much exactly the same as I did before I even started the meds.
Do you think I just need to give it more time to kick in, or is it possible that Lexapro just isn't doing anything for me??

I take the "standard" 75 mg version.
Yes, during those initial days, there is a sort of euphoria, a sudden surge of energy... but then, after a short while, that feeling vanishes. It takes some time for it to actually start working the way it’s supposed to, as an antidepressant.
Besides, it isn't bad for anxiety either.
