magic blue said:mine is late too and my stomach is just getting bigger, can someone explain why? 🤔

😬

Maybe the cure is just some sweet little expectation and they just need a kind word, but you two are just messing around!🤣
Just wait until you see what you're actually like once you become part of this crazy, wonderful world of motherhood!😬

I mean, what else can we even talk about when there are at least three different threads on the front page all sounding exactly the same... 🙂

Just go grab a test, girl! It’s not like we have crystal balls or anything.
If it comes back positive—well, that’s pretty much your answer right there.
If it’s negative, you probably aren't pregnant, but honestly, just head over to the doctor anyway just to be safe.

I am definitely not messing around here.😲 My period is ridiculously late—we’re talking since April at this point—and my stomach is already starting to pop.😕 I’m hungry all the time, my breasts are tender, and half the things I used to love now smell absolutely revolting.🙄

Hey everyone, just checking in to say that I (my paranoid self 😬) took a pregnancy test for the third time today. Totally unnecessary, obviously, since that second line showed up bright and clear as day, so yeah—it’s official 🙂
My partner and I are doing alright, though we both get hit by this sudden wave of panic for a split second (mostly thinking about the bank account), but we’ll figure it out. It’s actually really sweet when he calls me from work just to check in and see how I’m doing—which is pretty out of character for him 😁
I need to sort some paperwork with my health insurance first, then I'm heading straight to the OB-GYN, and after that, I have to tell my parents... honestly, the anticipation is going to eat me alive until it’s all settled. At the end of the day, I can't let myself spiral, because stress is the last thing a pregnant woman needs 🤣
The best moment was telling two of my coworkers. I dropped the news during my lunch break, and they both just lit up, laughing and clapping with pure joy. It really gave me a boost. On the flip side, when we told our group of friends, things got a little awkward. People didn't really believe us and acted like it was weird. I guess it's just because none of our close friends have kids yet, so it's a bit of a shock to their system

By the way, does the abbreviation MM stand for the male half of the duo if I'm reading this right? What exactly is it short for?

Oh, and I mentioned somewhere before that I’ve developed an insane craving for garlic. I mean, I’ve always liked it, but now it tastes absolutely incredible 😬 even though I know it smells terrible to everyone else 😁

I'll check back in soon
Best to you all 🙂

Haha, here’s a little fun fact for you. Since I can’t exactly go pee directly onto a test, I ended up using a container instead, and I was actually shocked to realize it held about half a liter 😲

welcome to the club

Enjoy these early weeks while you can. It's a unique phase.

Thanks. I’m crossing my fingers that I skip the morning sickness entirely—my mom never had to deal with it, so maybe luck is on my side. Though, I have to admit, I’ve already started yawning like crazy by 8:00 PM. 🙂

By the way, I still haven't seen your stock ticker symbol
How far along are you now?

First, you're going to have to explain what a ticker even is 😕
I’d much rather put my faith in my doctor during a checkup, but if I had to guess, I'd say we're looking at about three weeks.

Personally, I’d trust my OB-GYN more than this, but if I had to guess—and I’m just shooting in the dark here—we're looking at somewhere around week three.

All our tickers are listed right here—and check below for Desire's breakdown on how to get them all set up.😉

But me... I'm spiraling. I've taken three tests this morning and they were all negative. It's day 27 of my cycle (which usually runs between 18 and 34 days). I think this is it...
and that I can finally stop worrying... I'm really not pregnant, right??????????😲 😕 😕

Why do you always stick to the same brand? You might want to try something else next time, like a Clearblue or an First Response—they're reliable and easy to find. I've heard that certain budget brands aren't the most accurate 🙄 , and I've even seen people on here mention that those specific cheap tests often miss a pregnancy entirely, so you never know 👍 . Or perhaps it just takes that particular brand much longer to detect the hormone levels.

Oh, I don't know... honestly, every single time I walk into a CVS, I just ask for whatever the cheapest option is, and they always point me toward the exact same thing...
And since I was running so late this morning and didn't have any time to look around before heading into work, I just ended up grabbing the same one again...😁
I mean, I know there's still plenty of time left... it's not actually late yet, really... plus, all my other symptoms have totally vanished, which makes me wonder if that's weird at all...

The only things left are this bloating and a whole lot of nerves regarding a potentially unplanned pregnancy right now......
I actually deal with Crohn's disease, and I've been in remission for about four years now, but I also know that for us women living with Crohn's, the chances of getting pregnant can be a bit lower... and besides, my partner didn't even finish inside me.....
So, I am truly, sincerely hoping that my period shows up really soon......

At this rate, we're looking at a full-blown epidemic 😲—which is funny, considering some people actually call the 😬CDC
what it is.

Katherine, welcome to the group! 👋

So, if I’m following your logic correctly—and I really want to make sure I’ve got this straight!—pregnancy is actually calculated from the first day of your last period rather than the moment of conception. Which means, if I haven't totally misunderstood you, you're officially five weeks along right now!
So, the math works out like this: you take the first day of your last period, add nine months, and then tack on seven extra days—that’s the formula! But honestly, why am I even stressing over the mental gymnastics? I'm just going to pull up my copy of the Encyclopaedia Britannica and look at their chart instead—it's way easier than trying to do all that arithmetic in my head without making a mistake! 😬
So, in your case... you actually wrote down September 5th... but the actual date is June 12th, 2007!
It feels like we’ve almost got a little summer baby on our hands! 😍

I AM GOING TO LOSE MY MIND!!!!!
On one hand, you've got twenty different threads going—and every single one gets the exact same response:--
LOOK, IT'S YOUR BODY AND NOBODY HERE KNOWS IF YOU'RE PREGNANT OR NOT, SO JUST BUY A TEST AND GET IT OVER WITH ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!
Seriously, it’s the same thing over and over again... I mean, I think Katie has already told people to buy a test countless times—kudos to her, really—but I just can't deal with it anymore..
If you guys don't know your own bodies well enough to tell a cold from a pregnancy, why on earth would you expect us to know?!
"..am I just late or am I pregnant?
is this a cold or am I pregnant?
did I just overeat or am I pregnant?
is it PMS or am I pregnant?"
😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱

Welcome to the family, Karen! 😘

June 12th, right? A perfect late spring baby... You'll have endless walks ahead of you. If you actually tried to schedule them, they wouldn't show up on time. We timed ours perfectly, but then again, babies just arrive whenever they feel like it, don't they? 😉
I suppose we'll be decorating the tree for Christmas 😬 😍

Well, obviously—you guys always end up having those massive get-togethers anyway 😍 just don't forget to string up a ton of fairy lights; kids absolutely lose their minds over that stuff 👍
