gentlecanyon92, what on earth does that have to do with fertility or the lack thereof?

As far as men go,

you know, that fluid, two sperm cells inside, woman gets pregnant...

what's the normal sperm count supposed to be?

This happens to everyone eventually. Your period is likely just late because of stress...

But just buy a test so you can stop worrying. Once you relax, your cycle will probably reset.

But how am I pregnant then? We had sex twice in one dayβ€”the first time we used a condom, and the second time we didn't, but he still didn't finish inside me. And now, I'm sitting here with a baby on the way.

I wouldn't normally meddle in your or your partner's sex life or your fertility issues... but honestly, anything can happen. 😁

As for the specifics, we'll let the author give us the update..

well, technically, all it takes is just one single successful cell; it is entirely a matter of quality over quantity. you could have millions of them, but if they aren't strong swimmers or if there's some other underlying issue, fertilization simply won't happen. naturally, having a higher count makes the odds slightly better, but it can certainly happen with fewer, so you see what neoncobra43 is getting at?

My partner and I are certainly capable of conceiving. If I had known making a baby was such a simple matter, I would have just worn three condoms at once.

Definitely 😁

But let's be real, conceiving isn't easy for everyone; the odds vary wildly depending on the circumstances.

Looking at this specific case, though, she’s probably just dealing with PMS.

I'm giving her a pass for now. 😁

I remember being just as certain myself that my period was coming, but it never arrived. Even this past summer, I dealt with such intense nausea that I was convinced I was pregnantβ€”though I was too terrified to actually take a test. When I finally did, it showed a single line, and then my period showed up the very next day, having been delayed by nothing but pure, unadulterated stress.

There’s really no sense in letting stress get under your skin; it never yields anything worthwhile. Now, because of all this tension, my baby's arrival is being pushed back even further.

Daniel Robinson6 said:thanks... honestly, being pregnant isn't exactly how I pictured my life right now. I'm only 22, still grinding through college, and I'm not even in a serious relationship... God only knows how he'd even react to this news. Ugh...

I find this whole thing somewhat amusing.
Why wasn't this a consideration before things got physical? It seems we're only contemplating the consequences now that the fear has actually set in...😁

Don't mislead her.

Once the damage is done, there’s really no sense in looking back with regret. πŸ™‚

So, I picked up an Intimates testβ€”and it came back negative. Honestly, how much of a chance is there that the thing just totally glitched out on me???

A negative result might be a false negative, but you'll never have to worry about a false positive.

I’ve heard from people who get a negative on an M test even six days after their period was supposed to start, only to see a positive just a few days later... It's totally possible that ovulation just happened later than expected, meaning there isn't enough hCG in your system yet for the test to pick up.

I heard Clearblue is the most reliable one out there... but honestly, if I don't see a positive on my current test soon, I'm just gonna go grab another one and try again...

Give more $30 and still doubt it?

Maybe see a doctor instead?

Generally speaking, all these tests react to pregnancy hormones, so you can't really say one is more reliable than the others...

Look, you can pick up those much cheaper tests at any CVS or Walgreensβ€”they’re like five bucks and work on the exact same principleβ€”so maybe just give it another shot in a couple of days.
But honestly, if you're already running behind schedule, you might be better off just heading straight to the doctor.

Come on, man, just take the plunge and you'll finally have your answer. My wife didn't see anything immediately on her pregnancy test, but once she got a more detailed ultrasound, they spotted the gestational sac where the baby actually begins to form.
