So, my last period was Feb 19th and we had sex right when I should've been ovulating. My cycle is usually a mess, but I actually got it twice in a row for two months. Then, when I expected it in March, nothing happened except for this tiny bit of spotting. I just took a test and it’s negative. It's definitely working, just one line... If I were pregnant, wouldn't it be 4 weeks by now? Would it show up yet? Or...😕

It’s possible the test just isn't picking up enough HCG in your urine yet to register a result....
A false negative is definitely a thing...but you don't really worry about a false positive...

Good luck 😘

great... so I’m headed back for more tests next week because the symptoms are hitting again: nausea, exhaustion... though four weeks should be plenty of time for the HCG levels to show up on a test. I already told my husband there wouldn't be another dad this time, which definitely crushed him...

It’s actually happened before—girls getting negative results on an M-test even after being six days late, only to see a positive just a few days later (and now they're out there holding their babies)... It’s not like everyone’s body starts pumping out hormones at the exact same speed. Some people just need a little more time to catch up.

I’m crossing my fingers that you get that plus sign very soon...😘

A missed period can happen for plenty of reasons beyond just pregnancy—stress, hormonal imbalances, cysts, all that stuff. Honestly, you should just head to your OB-GYN so you aren't left guessing. Last month, my cycle was about ten days late, even though I’m usually clockwork on day 28. I had every single pregnancy symptom imaginable, and after taking a few tests that came back negative, I finally breathed a sigh of relief when my period actually showed up. Well, this month I took a test on day 28 using those cheap ones from $4.75. A few minutes later, a second, lighter line appeared. I think I'm pregnant. I ran a few more tests right after, and they were all positive 😍. Nadan hopes this is really it. I have an appointment scheduled for April 16th, but I’m trying not to get my hopes up too high until the doctor confirms everything is looking good.
My advice? Get to the clinic as soon as possible. Good luck!

My period is 6 days late...
I stopped taking my birth control pills last month, and for the previous two months, everything arrived right on day 28, but now it’s just... late.
I can't tell if this is some kind of hormonal mess-up from stopping the pills or if... I'm pregnant!

It could honestly be—well, it could be both at once...

Just grab a test and settle the debate once and for all.

I don't know, I'm still feeling pretty anxious about this...
It wouldn't be ideal if I were pregnant... I'm getting married on June 16th, so honestly, I don't care about that part—my only real stress is my job...
I just started a contract position, and I'm supposed to go permanent on April 19th, but there's a chance they might just extend my current term until someone comes back from medical leave...

One more thing...

I went to see my OBGYN back on March 28th and she told me everything looked fine...
She did run a Pap smear...

Is it possible to tell if you're pregnant from a Pap test?

I honestly don't even know if it's possible she missed it, considering she was doing that whole vaginal ultrasound on me...
The absolute worst part is when my period is late, because then I just start feeling all those symptoms like I'm about to go through it again...

So, I just got out of the shower and noticed this tiny little brown spot on my daily liner. I think I read somewhere on a forum that this can happen right at the beginning...

Please, someone, talk some sense into me and convince me I'm just freaking out :-)

What day of your cycle were you on when you saw the OB-GYN?

There’s no way an OB-GYN could see anything on an ultrasound right now. They might spot a corpus luteum on your ovary to confirm you ovulated, but it's way too early to see any sign of pregnancy.

Everything is relative, isn't it? I actually found myself at the Mayo Clinic right at that exact moment when my cycle was—well, let's just say things were getting a bit unpredictable—and the doctor saw it all. She could see the heightened hormone levels, the sluggish digestion, the overactive ovaries... everything. So, naturally, I had to ask her—just to be safe, you know?—if there was any chance I was pregnant. And she looked me straight in the eye and said, "Absolutely not, not even a chance!" And then there I was... pregnant.

But honestly, Thomas Scott5 makes a solid point—you really have to be pregnant for it to show up on an ultrasound—meaning just the gestational sac—and even then, it's only after you've already missed your period.

My period is already six days late... I'm going to grab a test tomorrow and just see what happens.
Maybe it'll actually give me a straight answer this time!
