Anonymous said:Hey everyone... I was doing some digging on Google and ended up finding this forum... I’ve already scrolled through almost this entire thread 😬

So...

The first day of my last period was March 25th, but I had sex on March 11th

My period was supposed to start on April 22nd, so a couple days ago I tried a Clearblue test. It was four days after my expected date (though I didn't take it first thing in the morning, just later in the day) and it came back negative

Today is already the 6th day since I was due... I'm noticing some increased white discharge, and while I wouldn't call them "cramps," I am feeling a tiny bit of discomfort in my abdomen...

I'm wondering if that last time we had sex was actually right during ovulation or what?

Also... how reliable is the test I used?

When would be the best time to test again? Is it too early to try again today?

Thanks in advance

😘

OVULATION—unless you know exactly when you ovulated, we can't really tell here on the forum. The general rule is fourteen days before your next period starts, but honestly, plenty of women don't ovulate then—they ovulate on totally different days. Believe me. I personally conceived just two days after my period ended, and my cycle is about 30 days long...

MORNING URINE—if the instructions say to use your first urine of the day, then you really should have waited until the morning to test. There are tests out there designed to work any time of day, but they tend to be a bit more expensive—like those $10 ones you find at CVS.

WHEN TO RE-TEST
—you can generally take a test at least 19 days after conception, but it really depends on the specific brand. Personally, I think you could probably test again today.

DISCHARGE—regarding that white discharge—it’s possible you might have a yeast infection, so maybe check in with your doctor.

ABDOMINAL PAIN—stomach cramps can be anything from pregnancy or PMS to just being stressed out...

TEST RELIABILITY—for the most part, all the major brands you find in the US are perfectly fine since they all work on the same basic principle.

If your cycle is regular, then those were likely your fertile days...
First off, you didn't mention if he finished inside or if you think it didn't go that way...
A test should show results by now...
All tests are decent, but Clearblue is highly reliable... and you can use it at any time of day...
It showed positive for my aunt, and she took it at 8 PM... so it doesn't just rely on morning urine...

So, there are two possibilities: either you tested too early and there wasn't enough hCG in your urine yet, or you're simply not pregnant...

As Joshua Clark mentioned, discharge can increase due to bacteria, yeast, or even if you've been taking certain medications lately (which could also cause a late period).
But, then again, it could be a sign of either your period or pregnancy... both are possible...

PMS symptoms and pregnancy symptoms are virtually identical, so there's no point using that as a guide... real pregnancy signs usually don't show up until after the 6th week...

My advice:
Either wait a few more days and test again, or just make an appointment with your OBGYN...

Good luck, regardless...😘

EDIT: I suspect you aren't pregnant 😉... My gut says Clearblue would have shown something by now...

Hey everyone, I could really use some insight here.

So, about two months ago, my partner and I decided we were ready to start trying for a baby, and we jumped right into it. Last month was pretty straightforward—just a standard period and nothing to report.
But this month feels completely different...
Around day 16 of my cycle (which usually runs about 30 days), my breasts started acting up. This isn't your typical PMS discomfort; it’s a totally different sensation. They feel tight, almost lumpy, and there's this sharp pain on the sides and near the top.
Right around that same time, I started feeling the urge to pee constantly. That lasted for maybe two days, but now, on top of the frequent trips to the bathroom, I’m dealing with this stinging sensation—kind of a pressurized feeling where I feel like I need to go again immediately after I've just finished.
Then yesterday, on day 22, I noticed some light brownish discharge. It wasn't much, just a few drops. I already took a pregnancy test, but it came back negative. Still, I can't help but hope it's just too early for anything to show up on a test yet. Can anyone tell me if this might be something else if it isn't pregnancy? Could it be an infection, or maybe something went wrong with ovulation or the egg itself? I remember reading something about that somewhere, but I can't find the article now. Is it actually possible to mess up your entire cycle or ovulation just by overthinking it and being so hyper-focused on the outcome?
Thanks. I know I'm dumping all this on you guys.🙂 Sorry to bother you.😁

hm... look, pregnancy is definitely on the table, but none of us here on the forum can give you a definitive "yes"... if your breasts are feeling super sore and tight, that could totally be a sign—and spotting is actually pretty common in those very early stages too... personally, my breasts were killing me and I was constantly running to the bathroom, though unfortunately, that pregnancy didn't end well. there was this one day where I felt absolutely nauseous and had zero clue why since I wasn't even trying to get pregnant at the time. just hang tight for a few more days and take another test, but honestly, my best advice? just head to your OB-GYN and they'll tell you for sure whether you're expecting or not... fingers crossed for you!! 😘

It’s day 16 of my cycle (which usually runs about 30 days), and my boobs have started hurting. It feels way different than my usual PMS stuff, though—they feel super tight, kind of lumpy, and there's this weird pain on the sides and on top.
Around the same time, I started peeing constantly. That lasted for maybe two days, and then on top of the constant urge, I started feeling this stinging sensation... like, even after I go, there's this pressure and I still feel like I have to go again.
Then yesterday, day 22, I noticed this light brownish discharge. Not a ton, maybe just 3 or 4 drops. Obviously, I took a test, but it was negative, but I mean, I'm hoping and thinking it might just be too early for an accurate result. Can anyone tell me, if this isn't pregnancy, what else could it be? Like some kind of infection, or maybe something went wonky with ovulation or the egg? I think I read somewhere about that, but I can't find the post now.Is it possible I totally messed up my whole cycle and ovulation just because I'm obsessing over it and waiting so hard for it to happen?
Thanks
That is definitely a thing, honestly. And whether that's happening to you right now, I don't know, but yeah, you can even get nauseous from the stress of it all.

I suppose it might be more wishful thinking than actual pregnancy... If you are, then that’s great 🎉 But I guess any symptom could just be premenstrual signs you hadn't noticed before
It probably makes sense to wait until your period is actually due, or maybe shortly after, before taking a test or seeing a doctor in New York City.

Look, Dana Cooper6, you know as well as I do that playing doctor on an internet forum is a fool's errand when it comes to your actual health and a possible pregnancy. You basically asked the question and answered it yourself. Based on what you're feeling, it could definitely be pregnancy—even if a home test is coming up empty because it's too early, though a blood test would already pick up 😬 levels once conception happens. But you're right, it could just as easily be an infection. Your best bet is to schedule an appointment with your doctor ASAP.

Fingers crossed it's a baby. Good luck. 👍

Look, I realize none of you can give me a definitive answer or a medical guarantee. It’s just easier for my own peace of mind to talk this out or hear from other women who dealt with these exact same symptoms and ended up being perfectly fine in the end.
Back when I saw my OB-GYN about two months ago, we did the Pap smear and all the usual swabs, and everything came back totally normal.
I also went through the whole routine of urine cultures and blood work, and those results were clear too.
I was reading somewhere that this kind of discharge might be a sign that ovulation didn't go quite right—like maybe the egg wasn't fully developed or something along those lines, though I can't say I know the specifics.
Thanks for bearing with me.👍

I haven't even taken a test yet... but if I don't vent about this, I'm actually going to lose my mind.

My last period started around March 26th or 27th. My cycle usually runs anywhere from 28 to 38 days.
We used condoms every single time and made sure he didn't finish inside—total paranoia mode.
Now I'm stuck spiraling, wondering if I'm actually unlucky enough for a condom to fail and leave me pregnant because of bad luck.

Given how my cycle works, there's a decent chance it's just an issue with my ovaries, but the thought of being pregnant is driving me crazy.
I'm planning to hit up the gynecologist tomorrow or Thursday.

I haven't even seen an OBGYN for an ultrasound since January
I have no clue why my period is running this late... ugh
And yeah, the tests were all negative

So, have you actually gone in for an exam lately...? Because—and I'm just thinking out loud here—if there were a pregnancy involved, things would likely be showing by now. If not that, then maybe we're looking at something like PCOS—though even then, you'd typically expect to see some cysts on an ultrasound

I’ve already mentioned how I saw those two lines on the test and felt like I was on top of the world, but since my first ultrasound isn't scheduled for another ten days or so, I went ahead and got my blood work done. The results show a beta level of 7,123.00 👍 (based on a 5+3 conception date). I was reading online that a typical value for the fifth week can go up to around 7,300.00, so this number feels a bit high to me... Or is it?
In any case, I’m not feeling any specific symptoms, other than being chronically exhausted and dealing with constant aching in my abdomen and lower back!
I am definitely pregnant... provided everything looks fine at the appointment!

So, I went to see my OBGYN about five days ago.
I stopped taking my birth control back in November (had to clear things up for some allergy testing), and my period came normally in January, but nothing since then.
My doctor told me my uterus is huge—like, she said it looks like I’ve actually carried a pregnancy before!!😲 I'm only 22, so that's just... wild. Her comment totally caught me off guard.
The ultrasound didn't show anything obvious, though. Now I'm just waiting on blood and urine results so she can prescribe Yasmin once they're in. She also mentioned I have heavy discharge and that my period probably won't show up for a while either.
Can you actually tell if someone is pregnant from a urine test?

Thanks a bunch in advance for any help.

I recently had sex for the first time with my boyfriend, whom I’m deeply in love with... he was being really gentle. It wasn't painful, and there wasn't any bleeding because I'm an athlete—my hymen actually tore a while ago during training; I remember seeing a bloodstain on my underwear after practice, and nothing like that has happened since... It did hurt a bit during penetration, though, and he could tell I was uncomfortable... We used a condom twice and went without it four times. He didn't finish inside me, just outside, but... my period ended two days before this happened, and I am terrified that I might be pregnant. He tells me I'm fine, but I know what I felt...

I wanted to ask if anyone knows how pregnancy tests work and how much they cost... maybe a baby is coming $133, and I'm definitely not ready for that... If anyone knows anything... I'm heading to Washington, D.C. soon and will be there for a month, so I know they'll have better selection at the pharmacies there... Does anyone know which test to get, what the price range is, and stuff like that? I'm a minor, so I can't exactly go get an ultrasound or anything like that yet...

PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Look, if you actually think there's a chance you're pregnant, just head over to a CVS or Walgreens and grab a pregnancy test. They've got the $17 ones, though I guess there are cheaper options available too 🙂

It isn't high; everything is still well within the normal range. Even if the value slightly exceeds that threshold by a small percentage, it’s perfectly fine—it’s only when the level is, say, a third higher than the norm that you actually have something to worry about.

Just try to enjoy this moment because you're our newest mom-to-be 😘 and there is absolutely no reason to stress 😉

Baby Do Come isn't a pregnancy test, so it won't help you at all... that's just for tracking fertile and non-fertile days.😉

Just buy any standard test from a drugstore and take it in the morning with your first urine; that’s when you’ll get the most reliable result.😉

So, how am I supposed to know which test to pick or when to actually take it? I see some girls here mentioning when they did their tests and how long they had to wait... but I had sex just two days ago...
