The instructions say you're supposed to wait until you've missed your period for a few days before testing.
But I was getting a little anxious, so I went ahead and took one right now, even before Maret gets home.
And it looks like it's positive. Based on my math, that little embryo would be somewhere between 7 and 20 days old.
Are these tests actually reliable? Like, can they really pick up on a pregnancy this early on?
thanks

A test can't really give you a false positive; there are plenty of threads here if you want to dig deeper.

Have you been taking any medications lately?
In principle, there’s no such thing as a false positive. You might have just miscalculated something.

And honestly, you're going to get the best advice from your own OB-GYN.πŸ™‚

Appreciate itβ€”I've actually got an appointment lined up with my doctor next week anyway, so I'll just bring it up then. Just wanted to see what πŸ™‚
thinks about it.

How many days before your period did you take the test?

[I deleted that tag. Taylor Swift for the heads-up. Velvetmarlin26 let me know.

I'm trying to be honest here, not lie about it.😬 I did a urine test, not a blood test. My doctor says those tests react based on the levels mentioned. He didn't refer me for further testing because he thinks everything looks fine. Here is my report from yesterday:
Uterus normal, no pelvic exam performed
Adnexa unremarkable
Follow-up in two weeks or sooner if needed

It makes sense, actuallyβ€”the test was already positive two weeks ago. And my doctor thinks the pregnancy isn't more than 4-5 weeks along. How long could I have actually been pregnant then? Only a few days.
There you go!

I posted this on Buy a test... These tests can detect pregnancy incredibly early. You only need an hCG level of about 50, which is a very small amount.

It should show up in about two to four days after you buy a test

When was your last IBM appointment, and when did you first get a positive result on a test? 😁

Fair point. You were only 4 weeks along when you took that testβ€”about 2 weeks after ovulation. Based on the IBM date, you're actually 6 weeks pregnant now. 😍 [per the IBM date!]

I’m inclined to agree. Unfortunately, my OB-GYN doesn't see it that way. Given that my last two pregnancies both ran at least two weeks long, he’s likely correctβ€”though I certainly wish he weren't. I've been dealing with nausea; actually, it feels more like motion sickness.

So, ladies, πŸ™‚
after dealing with the paranoia of my period being six days late, noticing changes in my skin tone and nipples, running a slight fever, and feeling constantly under the weather... I decided to buy a test.

I took it this morning and it came back negative. 😍
Just an hour later, without any warning at all, my period arrived. 😬

The mind really plays tricks on you, doesn't it?
Thanks to everyone for the advice. Much appreciated.

Funny enough, the same thing happens to me right after testing! Hmm, maybe I should grab a test tomorrow and see if mine starts then too... πŸ˜›

That would be a smart move. If you think there's a chance you're pregnant, there really could be...

God works in mysterious ways 😍

Just kidding, but please take a test for your own peace of mind. I have no idea why I kept putting mine off... (well, mostly because I was waiting for my paycheck πŸ˜‚) but still...

But if you're completely broke, then $10 that's pretty much your limit 😬

True, but I bring it up because most women feel pressured to buy those $100 versions... when they really don't have to. They’re mostly just paying for fancy packaging.

πŸ˜• Hello! This is my first time posting here. I have a quick question: how early can you actually find out if you're pregnant, and could increased discharge be a sign? πŸ˜•
