In my experience, that cheapest option gave me a positive result after my period was already three days late. It really helped clear up my anxiety, though. Anyway, good luck—I hope everything turns out exactly how you want it to.

I went ahead and merged your thread into the main one—if you want to see the full discussion on all the different tests, check out the master thread here:

I just got back from the drugstore after picking up a Clearblue kit, since everyone seems to swear they’re the quickest at detecting a missed period. I'm about to go run the test now. Thanks for everything, everyone...

Is there any doubt about its accuracy?

Yeah, honey, there's a 99% chance you're pregnant...

It’s an issue, really—I just don't feel ready, yet the idea of giving up isn't even on the table... so perhaps I am not prepared, though I suppose I'll have to schedule an appointment with my OB-GYN to find out for sure.

Hey girl, yeah—that’s definitely a pregnancy!
I know it wasn't exactly on your bingo card or planned out, but honestly, congratulations anyway... things like this deserve a little acknowledgment, I guess.
I really hope you decide to go through with being a mom, and I just hope you don't end up making a choice that you might regret down the road.
Grab your boyfriend by the arm and get your parents on board—and if you think that isn't going to be a total headache, let me tell you, it wasn't exactly a walk in the park for me either, even once I was actually married (everything just felt so weird, you know?)
Anyway, reach out if you need anything at all!

Wait, did you take this photo yourself? 😁

No, I simply downloaded it online... why do you ask?

Look, I get it—it’s a total shock since you weren't expecting this, but don't panic. Everything feels overwhelming at first, but once the dust settles and you have a second to breathe, you can work through the logistics.
There really isn't anything quite like seeing that tiny little speck inside you that starts growing so fast—before you know it, at your next ultrasound, you're seeing little hands and feet, watching them move... it's like looking at a literal little angel.

I’ve seen enough to know how this works, though I’m only twenty

Well, okay, if you're looking at how people view things nowadays—like when you're "supposed" to have kids—it’s probably more like, I don't know, ten years minimum? But personally, I always wanted to have a baby before I even hit 20. That didn't actually happen until I was 23, and honestly, that pregnancy didn't end well at all. So now, at 24, I'm pregnant again, and everything is going great—I'm actually really enjoying it.

In four days, I’ll be hitting my fourth month—I've mostly just been super sleepy and had some weird cravings, but overall, things are going pretty smoothly.
How long have you and your guy been together?
Is he older or...?

Twenty-two years old, seven months into this relationship, and I find myself constantly haunted by the suspicion that they’ll eventually walk away. It’s exhausting.

Well, because it’s clearly from the internet. And then you go and ask if that photo means you're pregnant?😕

I wouldn't say I'm pregnant just yet... I am simply questioning whether those tests can actually be trusted.

The girl was just trying to figure out if the test actually turned up positive...😠

Look, honey, first things first—talk to your boyfriend and see where his head is at. If he seems totally checked out, then maybe sit down with your parents (assuming they're actually reasonable, flexible people) and just lay it all out there. If this happened to my kid, I'd step up and help in every way possible. You'll see how it goes... Just use your head, so you don't end up regretting anything later. 👍

Oh, come on, why would you even think that?
It’s not like you guys met at a dive bar last night or something—he's not just going to bail!
Look, his kid is his kid, and that's a responsibility he can't just shake off—so don't go spiraling into the worst-case scenario. Just sit him down, tell him what happened, and maybe loop in his parents too... then everyone can just sit down and figure out a game plan together.
