Arthur Ramirez4 said:I hate to say it, but I think I have to agree with kinki on this one. We’ve been at it pretty much religiously every other day all month long without missing a single beat, and yet, nothing has happened—no pregnancy to speak of just yet. It's only our first month of really trying, though, so I guess we'll see what happens.

We’re leading the pack! 👍 Honestly, before I actually tried to conceive, I used to think the whole process sounded way too fast. You know the drill: you have sex, you end up pregnant, you spend nine months walking around with a massive bump, and then—boom—you give birth. It always seemed like such a whirlwind. 😂 Oh man, seriously. Before I started scrolling through these forums, I had absolutely no clue just how many complications there actually are. It’s wild. Like, a few months ago, this girl told me she got pregnant "by accident" because she "accidentally" forgot to take her birth control for five days straight. Yeah, right. 😂 Give me a break—no way in hell.

Yeah, I mean, on paper? It sounds like a total breeze. Like, seriously...
It would be so much easier if things actually worked that way.🙄

Good for you! Best of luck moving forward! 😉
But I bet you’re one of those rare ones! Well, besides the people who just fall into it by accident!

Even my doctor told me only about 4 out of 6 were actually ovulations. So...

That doesn't have to be true unless you're over 40... I'm 32 and I know for a fact I've ovulated 11 times a year for the last three years straight! That’s without using Clomid, with Clomid, and even during those 12 months when I was on it... I know because I go in every single month for follicle tracking and blood work to check my progesterone levels, which proves the follicle actually popped and ovulation happened...

And that 7 out of 100 stat is talking about women WHO ACTUALLY OVULATE and are otherwise perfectly healthy!

Man, this line of reasoning hits way too close to home. Everyone tried to talk me out of it—telling me I was being unrealistic—but to me, the math was simple. No protection, he finishes inside, I get pregnant. It’s basic biology, right? Honestly, that’s exactly what I spent my whole life worrying about. And sure enough, once it happened, there was no undoing it. Though, I will say, the part where you’re supposed to spend nine months walking around with a bump? That didn't exactly go according to plan for me.😁 We cut it short this time—but next time, we’re sticking to the plan, and then I'll finally have the kid. Crystal clear.👍 😁

Help me please!!!! My last sexual encounter was back on March 17th—let's say March 20th just to be safe since sperm can live for about three days. I should mention we used withdrawal! I took my first pregnancy test on April 8th and another one on April 12th, but both were negative. Shouldn't a test show positive by now, like three weeks and three days after possible conception? I actually had a pelvic ultrasound on April 14th but they didn't see anything, then I went back for another one on April 16th and still nothing... shouldn't a gestational sac be visible after five weeks or so? I'm honestly so scared—I've even been taking anti-anxiety meds—and my period still hasn't arrived. Could the stress and fear be making it late? My cycles are usually super regular, like every 28 days!

Good grief, just chill out—it’s obvious you aren't pregnant! Like, does it not seem reasonable that you couldn't really tell after only a month? If your doctor actually doubted you, they'd probably just send you for a blood test anyway. Just relax and maybe your period will finally show up. 😉

So my doctor sent me for a beta HCG test because they suspect an ectopic pregnancy—scary stuff, I know. I'm heading in for bloodwork tomorrow... but I was wondering, how many days after conception should a test actually show a clear result? And when would an ultrasound pick it up?

You could probably take a test after maybe 20 days—assuming you actually know when your period was supposed to start. An ultrasound usually shows things about seven days after you miss it—again, that’s only if your cycle is actually regular. That's what my doctor at Mayo Clinic told me, anyway. And from what I gather, the test should pick up an ectopic pregnancy too. But man, if you guys used any kind of backup... then it's gonna be tough... 😉I'm really hoping you get some answers tomorrow and that everything turns out fine.

From what I understand, the test is going to come back positive even if it’s an ectopic pregnancy!

Do you think a test would be accurate just three weeks after conception?

I think conception happened sometime between March 17th and 20th—I didn't have any sex after that. The last time was March 17th

Probably should. I mean, there are times when it isn't strictly necessary—but that’s why we’ve got the beta version anyway.

I’m not really sure what this means—but last week I had this sudden gush of clear liquid from my vagina, just like water. Does anyone have any idea what that might be?

Medical mystery or just a busted water balloon😂 😂 😂 Sorry, girl—no clue. Honestly, you should probably just check in with a gynecologist... I mean, that’s literally why they exist! Get some tests done and you'll get an answer.

Honestly, I really don't get why you're letting this get to you so much. First off, you didn't even finish, then there were two negative tests, and besides, there’s absolutely nothing showing up on the ultrasound. I mean, what other kind of proof could you possibly need at this point? Plus, let's be real, periods can be late for a million different reasons!

Arthur Ramirez4 🙏 besides that, lady—I mean, look, weather patterns are getting so wild today that eleven-year-olds are basically having strokes, so why are you stressing this much over a late period?! I go like 70 days without one myself, and I’m not making a huge scene about it! 🤷
