Sugar overload 😍 .. we're gonna be stuffed...

Anyway, we’re grabbing the treats from 'small house cake'—this is my seventh time trying them... and they are seriously amazing... every single one has its own vibe... a pound is $27....

I'll post the review after the wedding.... hopefully positive 😍

We picked up seven different cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes, just to mix things up. We went with four cheesecake varieties—some had fruit toppings, one was plain, and one was a chocolate cheesecake combo—plus three different flavors of ice cream sandwiches. Honestly, I can't even begin to wrap my head around how much praise we got for those treats; our bill was basically just a list of compliments 🙂 Everyone was seriously blown away. Now, some people might be bummed out that a place like Nothing Bundt Cakes doesn't offer custom, fancy wedding-style tiered cakes, but for us and our guests, that didn't matter one bit because the quality of the cakes was nothing short of perfection 😍

Zack, your cake is 😍
man, those Zeeks are totally 😍😍

(by the way—are they even edible? 😬 )

@briskcobra2 — the guy had plenty of cakes, actually. It was almost overkill. The cakes there are just too intense 🙏 🙏
except for when I was setting them up—I put a brownie cake on top of the stand, and they could barely even slice through it 🤣

Nathan Cox25, man, you're playing in the big leagues now... We were actually just thinking about ordering some from Monica too...

Trust me, you can't go wrong here.
There were 137 guests, but we ended up ordering enough for 180 😁
We actually had leftovers—people kept grabbing cake even after they'd clearly eaten their fill and insisted they didn't want any. Everyone was raving about it, asking if they could take some home. The next day, I was practically begging people to let me have the scraps since we'd polished off most of ours; every single bite at that wedding was worth it...
The little animal figurines are edible too—they've got more animals, newlyweds, and you can even bring your own. We skipped them, though; we really should've gone all in on the bunny theme. Asked what happened to them later, and apparently, they harden up nicely and stay on display for years.

Hey Nathan Cox25—how much did that whole cake run you, and what was actually in it?

$4.00 slices
vanilla chocolate, Milka, Black Forest, chocolate orange

The lady went to pay, but the math was off—ended up paying $67 less than expected. I'll check the receipt once we're back in NYC.

Man... I am seriously counting down the days...😍
We were thinking about grabbing some cupcakes... maybe. I just need to hunt down some cool "decorations" and figure out a vibe. Cakes are honestly the way to go because you can go wild with the toppings and styling, but what can I even do with these? We were actually planning on getting the top floor specifically just so we'd have plenty of room for slicing everything up. 🤷

We ended up ordering our dessert spread from Accenture over in Columbus, and honestly? They were a total knockout...

The only thing is, we made a last-minute call to have them served on actual platters rather than just bringing out the trays, so we did end up shelling out a little extra for the service...

Are you serious? I’m actually from Columbus, and we usually just get our desserts included in the venue price. I know the local banquet hall works closely with both Absum and Mouse.

That being said, I had always heard that Absum wasn't all that great when it comes to their sweets... so reading this comment actually makes me really happy to hear.😍

We picked up some from Absum Inc. just to test them out, but honestly? Total flop. Nobody liked them—not my crew, not his, not even us. It was like they all had this identical, flat taste that just didn't hit. Now we’re seriously considering checking out Smile from Forest Hills instead...

We're going to pick up some pastries from Mouse... they're actually pretty good. They don't have that artificial, mass-produced taste you get with everything else elsewhere.

Exactly! They really have that authentic, homemade feel to them. 😍

We just need Miller to finalize the partnership with Mouse... I heard he's still in the middle of negotiations. 🙂

That’s pretty much standard. Usually, above the cupcake tiers, there’s a dedicated layer for the cake—something meant for about 12 people—specifically so the newlyweds can perform the cutting ritual. 😉

Something like this:

Something along these lines is really catching my eye...

Yeah, they’re usually a bit too thin for slicing, but I’ve scrolled past a few photos where those mini cakes actually go all the way to the top...

We ordered pastries from Absum Inc. ($18 kg plus $67 delivery to NYC), and everyone was genuinely impressed. They were delicious—you can tell there isn't a ton of margarine in them. I actually enjoyed picking them out; I ended up choosing about 25 out of the 70 available!
We also got the cake from Mouse Bakery. To be honest, I was pretty skeptical at first, but I was pleasantly surprised. The cakes (we had 7 total: 3 chocolate, 2 Black Forest, and 2 walnut) were excellent. You couldn't taste any margarine, and the texture was perfect—not too soggy and not too dry. It was just right. The cake cost us $450.

In short, the dessert portion of our wedding was a hit! 🤣

Man, what does it matter if there are a hundred people acting weird... it’s just a hundred women and two hundred breasts to me 😂

I’m honestly crossing my fingers for a bakery, Mouse... but even if it ends up being Absum Inc., I can live with that. At the end of the day, I just don't want to have to stress about it because I'm mostly just focused on getting a good seat 😬

Besides, I actually really like our local diner; they even give us free seat covers 🙂

It doesn't really stand out to me... I have to say, it feels a bit low...
