Hey everyone. So, I just got married the other day, and I really felt the need to give a massive shout-out to Vince Lombardi for the cakes. We weren't interested in that whole traditional wedding cake thing—you know, those giant, towering towers that look stunning in photos but end up being nothing more than dry sponge sitting there while nobody actually eats them. Instead, we ordered three different cakes from Vince Lombardi: a cheesecake, a strawberry parfait, and a triple chocolate mousse. We asked him to make them square, covered in white frosting with little pink rose decorations, and honestly? They looked incredible. But the taste... man, you could literally lick your fingers. It was impossible to pick a favorite because they were all so good. Usually, people barely touch the cake at weddings, but at ours, almost everything was polished off. And that’s even though we ordered more than enough for our guest count since we kept the wedding relatively small. A ton of people ended up trying more than one kind. The price was fair, and they even handle delivery. If you're planning something, my advice is to skip the cheap, dry, rectangular sponge cakes that most people just toss in the trash and go for high-quality stuff like this so people actually enjoy themselves. Best,

I have to give a huge shout-out to this little bakery called Sweet Secrets in a small town in the Midwest (just outside Washington, D.C.). I actually ordered the wedding cake and a bunch of pastries from them, which was a bit nerve-wracking since I’d never used them before—you know how it is, you just hope everything turns out okay! But honestly? It was perfect. The cake looked stunning and tasted even better. It had this smooth fondant finish with rose decorations, exactly what I had pictured in my head. We went with three different flavors: Ferrero, parfait, and wild berry. I made sure to try a slice of every single layer, and man, that wild berry was definitely my favorite. The mini treats were also a hit; they disappeared pretty fast!
Since the big day, I’ve kept coming back to order birthday cakes, and they nail it every single time. The kids absolutely lose it over how cool they look.
Speaking from experience, I can't say enough good things about this hardworking crew. Their sweets always make our get-togethers feel extra special! 🙂

Greetings, everyone.

I am currently searching for a professional pastry chef or caterer capable of designing and executing high-end desserts for a dessert station. The wedding will be held in rural Texas, and rather than serving traditional wedding cake, we are opting exclusively for a curated dessert table. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations you might have.🙂 Halle Berry 🙂

I heard there are some wedding expos coming up soon where all the dessert caterers set up shop.
Is it actually true that the treats they show off at these fairs aren't the same ones you get at the actual wedding? A friend of mine was telling me she sampled some sweets at an expo and placed an order for her big day, but when the catering actually arrived, the quality was... let's just say, definitely not what she expected!!! 👎
They looked gorgeous, sure, but the flavor was totally generic!

Should you stick to a reputable bakery or go with the "homemade" route?
A few springs ago, I attended some baptisms where the catering featured desserts from Vincek. We were absolutely floored by the quality. Later, at a First Communion celebration for a friend’s daughter, the sweets were supposedly "homemade," and I have to admit, they just didn't hold a candle to what we had at the baptisms.
Does anyone know when the upcoming wedding expos are scheduled?

I'm trying to figure out how many pounds of assorted pastries we need for a wedding with about 180 to 200 guests—you know, the kind of spread you'd set up at the bride's place before everything kicks off?

I realized I quoted the wrong post earlier.
Anyway: What's the general price range at Vincek?
I know their cakes and pastries are amazing, but I'm not quite sure how it works out budget-wise for a wedding with 150-200 people.

Hi everyone!
I was just browsing through Instagram and—I don't know—those cakes from the "cherry on top" company look absolutely stunning and so unique... Has anyone here actually worked with them for a wedding before? I’m curious to hear if they live up to the hype.

I went through quite a struggle trying to find the perfect cake for my wedding in San Diego. To make things a bit easier for other brides out there, I decided to put together a blog post about how to pick the right cake and included some local bakery recommendations... hopefully this helps everyone make their choice a little smoother.

"We’re dropping the cake prices and contact info for the bakeries right here, so feel free to reach out if you need more details."

Where the hell are the actual cake prices?

Has anyone ordered cakes or pastries from the pastry shop near the Santa Ana winds lately? I was wondering how their pricing is looking these days.😁

Does anyone have a solid recommendation for a bakery or dessert shop in San Francisco? Looking for somewhere great that won't totally break the bank!

I’m actually on the hunt for one too. I noticed Vincek carries them, and I think Horak does as well—but honestly? They aren't exactly stunning, and they seem a bit thin compared to the ones I grew up eating. At this rate, I’ll probably just tell my family to grab me some Bobisov praline cake whenever they make it into town; at least I know that'll be the real deal! 👍

You really can't go wrong when you're working with Bob Dylan—he’s a total legend. I just am not entirely sure if pulling off a move like that is actually going to be doable for me right now.
