Me and my auntie are heading out to grab some sample cookies and cakes this week😁 Honestly can't wait—she's the absolute sweetest, just a total gem... and those little cakes look 😍

Hey ladies!
Does anyone know where I can get custom photo cakes made? I found the perfect one online, but I have no clue how to upload it here so you guys can actually see it.😕
Actually, Adonia posted a similar picture at the bottom of page 37 in this thread, so you can check that out to get an idea...
I’m thinking about doing a timeline of our photos—starting from when we were little kids, all the way up to when we first met and started hanging out.
I also heard you can just buy edible image transfers that you stick right onto a cake you've already made. If anyone has any tips or knows a good spot, let me know!
Anyway, here is my attempt at uploading a photo of "my" cake, though I'm not holding my breath that it actually works.😳

It's actually super easy. I've done a photo cake before. You just bake a standard cake and order (most local bakeries offer this now) for them to print a photo onto edible frosting sheets. You pick the size yourself, and then—boom—you just lay the photos onto the cake.
It sounds complicated, but it's honestly easier than most things. Just way more expensive.

I'd recommend checking out that bakery over on Main Street, right across from the Chase Bank, they do this kind of thing👍

So, I finally got everything squared away for the cake this Friday! It’s going to be a total classic—iced down with white fondant, finished off with a deep burgundy ribbon, and topped with a gorgeous burgundy rose. And get this, it’s actually a two-tier cake! 🙂

ah, Hiki... one of the few people actually doing right by Zaherica—even if they're cutting corners with the recipe. I'll let it slide since the results are great 😍

yeah, Hiki, I was just about to message Mica... glad I caught myself before I did 😬

Joshua Clark, the absolute queen of surfing the web and hunting down anything imaginable🙏 😁, any chance you could dig up that photo of the cake I described in one of my posts from a few weeks back? It’s the one with that glaze that looks just like crystal or poured glass. Thanks a million!

I put a deposit down, but it was way too early to lock everything in. She told me to check back two weeks before the wedding—which is crazy fast 😲 😲 😲

Here’s my update: I'm laughing because just yesterday I was 100% certain I’d be getting a simple white cake with real roses... Then, I changed my mind. My partner and I decided to go with a heavily decorated one instead. It's stunning and definitely not "simple." He had some influence over the choice, but I wouldn't have budged if it wasn't 😍
The thing about the bakery in Vincennes is that the decoration is where they get you. They tack on an extra 20-50% just for the decor—and ours ended up being fifty percent more than that. They have this scheme where they can make a cake for 200 to 270 people, and we need enough for 250... We decided to get the one meant for 200 people, and the total price is $900. The lady there advised us to get a smaller one since there's supposedly leftover waste, especially since we'll have side cakes anyway. Since our venue covers the cost of a $333 cake, we have to pay an additional $567. Honestly, it seems fine to me because this cake is special.
Visually, it looks like three tiers, but it's actually six because every tier is a double layer.
Flavors: chocolate and Vincennes at the bottom, chocolate and vanilla parfait in the middle, and at the top (the part we'll actually snack on), Black Forest and fruit parfait.

Good grief, this is my longest post ever—consider this my full report.😉

Aha! So we're in the same boat! You changed your mind too! 😬 Now I'll be the only one wanting a simple cake, but after reading this, I totally get why you switched. Sounds delicious!😁 👍

We went with cakes from Magnolia Bakery... we had 8 pieces total... 2 strawberry parfait, 2 peach cheese parfait, Black Forest, and 2 chocolate parfait...
3 were on the display stand "for slicing," and the other 5 were just sitting there on the side...
There were 140 people there—including the band and everyone else—and they absolutely demolished 7 of those cakes... there wasn't a single crumb left on anyone's plate 🤣
The Crew was going around to all the different tables, and people were grabbing 2 or 3 pieces at a time 🤣
I honestly have no idea how the servers didn't realize we needed an eighth cake... but hey, they were so good they'd have been perfect for breakfast the next day 😍 so I guess it worked out fine...
Everyone kept saying they usually hate wedding cake, but these were freaking phenomenal...
We're heading over to drop off the stand and settle the bill in a few days, but I don't regret a single cent—even if it was the priciest cake in NYC... we cut corners on plenty of other things, but we definitely didn't skimp on the dessert, and man, did it pay off 😍

Quinn, do you think 28 pounds of dessert is enough for 120 guests, considering we’ll have four different cakes plus the main centerpiece?
