No problem at all. I'm curious to hear what you think once you actually taste those cookies—let me know😘

So, George mentioned you, and I figured I’d give you a heads-up—we had way more dessert than we needed. We actually ended up packing some into little boxes to take home. Maybe we went a bit overboard on the dry cookies, because there was still an entire big box left over at the end... but hey, nothing went to waste, which is what matters. We just split up the leftovers among everyone.

Good morning, everyone. Just a quick heads-up...

I stopped by Vincennes yesterday looking for some cake toppers, but turns out they only sell them if you buy one of their actual cakes. So, if you were planning on picking up just the decorations without ordering a whole dessert from them, save yourself the trip and don't bother going...

This just proves they actually have internet in the Big Brother house... I knew they weren't totally cut off from civilization.😬
Sorry, total off-topic tangent—couldn't help myself.🤣

Bradley Bishop6 said:I think the final price on a cake gets ridiculously inflated if they're padding the cost by baking the cheaper pastries into the total. For instance, when I was at Nikolin's, they told me they don't charge extra for decorations, the display stand, or even the fondant. Because of that, you end up getting six different cakes on a single stand $333 regardless of the flavors, which I honestly find much more reasonable than what other places are charging.

I called a few bakeries myself, and everyone either charges more or about the same. Nobody is "throwing in" things like chocolate fountains, bride and groom toppers, or fondant for free. A cake with all that included costs $650 and I honestly don't think that's expensive. Also, please, can you send me the number for Nikolin's? I couldn't find them online or in any directory, and I want to check their pricing.

I actually went to Vincennes to finalize a cake order myself, and honestly, I was so impressed by how professional they are... They show you everything, offer plenty of suggestions, and are incredibly easy to talk to. They even give you honest advice on what’s actually worth the money instead of just trying to upsell you. Highly recommended...

I sent you the contact numbers. Take a look at the photos I took of their pastry selection from the CD you get, which lets you pick out cakes and treats. You can find them on this page, and also on the previous ones where I was explaining things to the little one. That two-tier white cake will cost you $100—that's what they told me when I inquired. It's best if you contact them directly to hash out the details yourself. I've already put down a deposit for the pastries, and I plan to deposit for the cakes next week—six of them featuring mixed candied flowers. You can see the sample above, since my bouquet will be made of mixed flowers. As for the cake flavors: chocolate parfait with roasted hazelnuts, chestnut, chocolate, vanilla parfait, forest fruit parfait, and cherry chocolate—there's something for everyone.👍

We had a great experience with the ladies over at Vincennes too... genuinely kind, approachable, and willing to lend a hand...
It's true, though—they really push the option that makes the most sense for the customer...👍
And don't even get me started on the taste of that fruit parfait...😛

Anthony Chavez6, I wasn't criticizing Vincennes. I just meant they don't sell those figurines on their own. They're only included with the cakes.

No, no—everything is fine! Honestly, I just accidentally hit the "quote" button instead of "new post"—my bad, sorry!

I made a promise to myself to shout out everyone who helped make my wedding day go exactly according to plan, so I suppose I'll start here... I ordered the cake and pastries from Emma's Bakery (which I actually found through a recommendation on this forum), and honestly, they deserve all the credit. The cake was stunning, and Snow handled every single detail just as we discussed. My guests are still calling me today to rave about the sweets—even though I didn't get much of a chance to taste them myself... anyway, they were top-tier. If anyone is looking to order from them, you can definitely trust them; everything was first-rate. I hope everyone else finds themselves as happy and satisfied with their big day as I was. Kisses!

Ladies, I need some intel...

Can someone point me toward where I can pick up a silk ribbon (or maybe satin?) to decorate a round cake—I'm planning on covering it in fondant—and I want to wrap a bouquet with the exact same ribbon. I saw a photo once where they did this, and it looked incredible...

The catch is that I need the ribbon to be pretty wide. At least 1.2 inches, though 2 inches would be even better.

thanks🙂

A solid partner, DTP, minor details, curtain showrooms...
Don't forget to unwrap the ribbon on the cake before you start slicing! 😬

rustyscout38, you should try looking at local fabric stores or even specialized craft and haberdashery shops that carry buttons and ribbons. I actually used a satin ribbon on my wedding dress and then used that very same ribbon to wrap my bridal bouquet 👍 You can take a look at the photos in my signature if you'd like to see how it turned out!

I suppose I should keep the praise coming while it’s still fresh in my mind. The desserts and the cake were absolutely flawless, and we have Ms. Milka Mavrović from Forest Hills to thank for that—her bakery, "Smile," really hit it out of the park. If anyone is interested, just shoot me a private message for her number; her prices are actually reasonable, which is a rarity these days. When our guests were heading out, we handed them little boxes of treats, and honestly, half of them were begging us to pack up extra portions because they were just that good.😍

And how many pounds of cookies are we talking about here?
