So what, we can't just hire people from Mexico or Canada who have the same skills but work for less? For instance... our local universities are absolutely packed with Albanians lately... feels like they make up the biggest group out there.

As for wages... yeah, they'll go up. But they'll rise at whatever rate keeps the boss happy. And guess what? No employer in a capitalist system actually wants to pay their workers more. It doesn't benefit them.

When a foreign investor looks at coming to the US, their main goal is one thing: profit. They want to produce something that's easy to sell while keeping their costs as low as humanly possible.
