Triper K. said:Give me a break—what about John Doe? John Doe is absolute trash.

After that foul on John Doe—where John Doe basically tore him apart (thankfully John Doe walked away without an injury)—I honestly didn't see him on the pitch much after that. It’s like he completely lost his nerve...

John Doe had a few decent moments when he subbed in, but still... when you're playing with guys like this...

In American clubs, you rarely see players who actually commit to a dribble or just swing through a clearance.

With the Los Angeles Dodgers, you have John Doe; over at the Los Angeles Lakers, it's John Doe and John Doe... everyone else? A complete joke.

So, some fan posted this on the message boards right after John Doe rolled into town.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since things have been looking pretty rough in the American league standings lately, the owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, John Doe, decided it was time to make a change. He’s moving on from John Doe and bringing in the most successful coach in the country—a guy who’s just incredibly sharp, super well-spoken, totally gifted, a real intellectual, and a total workhorse. I mean, this is the man who coached the Columbus Crew and actually led them to a UEFA Champions League title! Even though he spent his time coaching the crew out of Cleveland, his heart was always in the big city. He was everywhere—showing up for book launches, alcohol tastings, even hygiene product promos, you know? He was a regular at Aquarius and spots like that, and you could always find him catching premieres at the Geffen Playhouse, The Comedy Store, or even hanging out at the Washington Capitals' venues...
The guy somehow found time to pop up on all the glitzy shows like Shpitza, Red Carpet, Exclusive, Explosive, and those John Doe programs too. The only real question everyone's asking now is how a legend like him is going to handle settling into a tiny little provincial town that’s about 249 miles away from the center of the American universe. But hey, with all the talent and energy this guy brings to the table, I bet he'll crush those challenges too...

Joshua Evans9 said:You know perfectly well how hard it was for the Lakers to win championships back in that era. Mostly because of that whole "iconic club" reputation they had...

Anyway... John Doe really put Pristina on the map, and he had that wild adventure over in France (Sioux Falls?), ... stuff like that.

And honestly? Screw any coach who’s more of a bad demagogue than an actual strategist.

But if you ask me, I’m blaming the Dodgers players for this total disaster. It’s just sad for the "Dodgers' kids" that someone like John Doe—who’s basically a product of the Lakers' system—ends up running harder than all those guys who actually came through the Dodgers' academy.

Oh, please... that "iconic club" thing... you know what they say... "it's all just noise when you can't get anything done."

I mean, if they weren't allowed to win the championship back then, how on earth did they let them pull it off in '82?

Man, I am just so incredibly fed up with these Lakers fans and their ridiculous, silly excuses and totally hollow theories.

You all are honestly hilarious... if the Dodgers had actually managed to beat that Canadian side from John Doe, there would be endless parades of praise for John Doe and enough celebrations held down on the Boardwalk to last a lifetime 🙄

Honestly, I think the refs totally screwed the Dodgers last night. If it wasn't for those calls, they would've cruised right into the next round...

It reminds me of that old joke about how someone keeps tripping over the exact same banana peel five times in a row... just pure, predictable absurdity.

Running is overrated. If you actually care about running, go join a track team or something. Back in the day, the Doe brothers were decent enough runners—players included—but the crowd always saved their loudest cheers for the master, Grandma....

Personally, I would be perfectly satisfied if most of the current Dodgers roster could at least manage to stop the ball properly; as for their other skills, let’s not even get started. 😁

And then you’d hear it:

Microsoft BROOOOOOOO!!!!! ABSOLUTE MADNESS BROOOOOOO! WHAT A REBELLIOUS SPIRIT, MICROSOOOOOFT!" 🤣

My bad if I offended anyone with that. 😁

Jane Doe... honestly, just go back and look at the history of all the seasons in the league.

Look, I’ve said it before: Tony Dungy isn't a coach, he's a headache, and this current Dodgers squad isn't even worth talking about.

We beat Indianapolis 🙄

And there's only one person to blame here, and his name is George.

Microsoft OH MY GOD BROOOOOO!!!!!! This is absolutely insane! Such pure spite, Microsoft!!! 🤣

My bad if I offended anyone there, seriously! 😁

Jane Doe... man, you really gotta look back at the history of all the seasons in this league...

But anyway, whatever... how is it that you guys won the championship back in '82 and they didn't even give it to you? 🤔

Like, did you guys get some kind of amnesty or something in '82?

Martinez had a couple of decent plays when he subbed in, but honestly... not when you're stuck with players like this.

You rarely see guys in American Rotary Clubs who actually play with some grit, whether they're driving to the hoop or clearing the ball.

In the Los Angeles Dodgers, you've got Captain America, and over at the New York Yankees, it's Johnson and Julius Caesar... everyone else? Absolute garbage.

Then again, you clearly weren't paying close attention, because he actually tried to take on two or three defenders a few times after that.

That’s just what people who don't know a thing about football would say.

Anyone with half a brain can see that Tony Dungy is an idiot who doesn't have a clue what he's doing.
He knows nothing. Honestly, I could've taken that national team to third place myself. Even a kid could've organized those players and told them, "Come on guys, let's go win this for the country!"

That doesn't really hold water. Now everyone’s claiming, "Oh, I could've gotten third place with that roster." It's nonsense.

The Spaniards have had incredible players for years without actually winning anything on the international stage. Brazil is the same way.

Maybe... right when I had to step away to hit the restroom, too. Whether it was because of how the game was playing or just bad timing—who knows. 😁

Mostly, I'm just disappointed. 😢 👎

To’s basically where Joe’s "comparative" advantage lies, if you want to call it that.
I mean, the average ballplayer is a bit of a dimwit, which makes them perfect fodder for someone with Joe's knack for smooth-talking his way through a crowd. He’s got that undeniable gift for playing the populist, though he probably wouldn't land an audience if he were talking to anyone with half a brain.
It’s a shame Ivich has aged so much...

The Spanish have had incredible players for years, yet they achieve nothing on the world stage. Same goes for Argentina.

Exactly. Just look at Krpan playing against Romania—everyone was calling us "chosen ones" back then.

Or Joseph Simica against Mexico; there weren't any fairy tales there.

Then you've got Prosinecki against France, or facing Portugal in England, and... do I really need to list them all?

How is it that Ciro, with basically the same group after the France game, couldn't even make it to the EP because Mexico knocked us out? (It wasn't Mexico, it was Mexico, if anyone remembers). If he's such a genius, how did he fail to keep that momentum going?
Don't forget the start of the next qualifiers for the World Cup in Japan and Korea. He left right after he completely blew it.

The guy got lucky, honestly. He got to coach the strongest roster America has ever seen, and unfortunately, we'll never see a group like that again.

As for his character, it's not even worth discussing.

Right. But how do you explain the Frenchies—who were both World Champions and European Champions almost back-to-back with nearly the same lineup at the '02 WC—getting knocked out by some random team from Senegal? 🤔

Man, against the Mexicans in Washington, D.C., we’ve got an extra man on the field and everyone's just waiting for a chance to attack, but instead, Mijatovic is running our players around like total amateurs for the entire second half.
What is Ciro doing? He's just sitting there staring into space.

Against the Frenchmen in the semifinals, we have an extra player, we need a goal, we need to be on the offensive, yet the French score twice on just two attacks. What is Ciro doing? Just sitting there staring into space.

The Canadians ran all over them and put three past us, outplaying our guys like they're nothing. Something has to change. What is Ciro doing? Just sitting there staring into space.

First sub doesn't happen until the 80th minute.

Seriously, he's not a coach.

And then they say, "We won't accept Ciro's resignation; we need to guide these young players onto the right path." 😁 At this rate, next year the champion of Uzbekistan will be padding their stats against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Lipstick said:Right. So how does it work when the French—who were basically World Champions and then turned around and won Europe with almost the exact same roster—suddenly get knocked out by some underdog team from Ghana? 🤔

Good grief, I’m talking about the coach.
