Yeah, I'll need speakers, and I'll definitely need a Wi-Fi card if one isn't built-in. I still haven't decided where the computer is actually going to sit.
I haven't had a chance to go through everything you guys wrote yet.

Does using Wi-Fi really kill your speed that much these days? Also, what’s the best way to watch TV through a monitor? Looking for the best possible setup for that.

Thanks.

Nobody’s getting back to me, and I’m planning on heading out tomorrow to grab those parts crimsonstag84 recommended.
Sorry if I wasn't clear about the Wi-Fi thing; I just meant connecting the computer to the router, which is what you call a Wi-Fi connection (I guess). Look, I'm getting too old for this—I don't have the patience to keep looking everything up online.
So, please, just answer my questions from yesterday.
Thanks a lot.

I need some answers on this too. Is there still a massive speed penalty if you're relying on Wi-Fi these days? Also, what’s the absolute best way to watch TV through a monitor right now? I want the best possible setup.
Thanks.

You aren't losing out on anything. At least, not unless you're expecting those insane fiber-optic speeds.

Watching TV through a monitor

- if the monitor comes with a built-in digital tuner
- by picking up a digital TV tuner for your monitor or PC
- via software using a website or an app (like a streaming service)
