As far as I know, it works with PayPal. It didn't cause any issues back in the day, though I haven't touched PayPal in over a year, so if they changed something recently, who knows.

Digging this thread up. What’s the actual process for getting this card approved at Chase? I’ve got my checking account there, a credit line, an overdraft protection, and some installment options on my current account that I haven't even touched yet. My record is spotless. I want the Mastercard specifically to take advantage of those interest-free purchases for up to 24 months since we're currently furnishing our new place.
Does the approval process drag on? And do they actually check my NASDAQ score for this, or does it not matter since it’s a charge card rather than a standard credit card?

Quick question.
How does the refund process actually work? I bought something using my Mastercard, but I need to return the item and get my money back. I'm just wondering how that hits my account—since you obviously can't just deposit cash directly onto a Mastercard

Sure thing. They approve the refund amount directly to the card account, which then offsets the balance once the charges are invoiced.

But what happens if I pay off the credit card in the meantime? The charge hits me before the credit is actually processed and issued. My payments are all set up on autopay from my checking account.

It’ll hit your account first, then you’ll get the refund later.

Hey everyone, quick question
It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen any of you guys posting around here, so I was wondering about something
I’ve got a standard Mastercard with a credit limit of $1167
What I’m trying to figure out is whether it works the same way as Maestro when it comes to installment plans
Basically, if my total limit is set at a certain amount, does that mean I can buy anything up to that specific price point, or
If my limit on the Mastercard is $1167, can I buy something worth, say, $1667, where the largest monthly installment would be $1167?

In your dreams...

If your credit limit is $3,500, then the item you’re buying can't exceed that amount...

Because if we followed your logic, someone taking out a 24-month installment plan could just go out and buy an $84,000 car.

Actually, that’s not right—let me fix that. It doesn't work like that with a Chase Mastercard. If we're talking about an individual Mastercard, Chase sets two different limits: one for your monthly spending and another specifically for installment purchases.
So, if you said your limit is $1167 (which is just your monthly limit), you actually have to call the card services at 01/3789-620 to find out your specific installment limit. You won't find it anywhere else unless you call that number or check your online banking portal. Your installment limit is probably way higher than your monthly one. Like, maybe $10,000 or more. And you can buy anything up to that approved amount. For example, if you bought something for $2500 over 24 months, your monthly payment would be $104.
After the purchase, your installment limit would drop to $0.83 (since $10,000 - $7,500 leaves you with $2,500).😉
Your monthly limit would also drop, so instead of having $1167 available, you'd have $1167 minus that $312.50 installment. For the next 24 months, your monthly Mastercard limit would sit at $1062.

Hope that clears things up! Does that make sense?👍

Hands down, this is the absolute worst bank I’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with. From the incompetent staff to their broken-down tech, it's a total disaster.

What’s going on with the Chase site—is it just me, or can I no longer see my Mastercard limits?🤔

As I was reflecting on what was said...
Joseph Flores9 As stated by:
Is anyone else noticing some strange glitches over on the Chase online portal lately? I’ve been trying to check my available credit limits on my Chase Mastercard, but for some reason, the numbers just aren't showing up anymore... It's becoming quite difficult to track my spending when the interface keeps acting up like this...🤔
I’ve finally managed to get logged in... I can see that the limits are being applied consistently across both the online banking portal and the mobile app...

What kind of paperwork am I going to need to get approved for a Chase Mastercard revolving line? I don't actually have any direct deposits or income tied to this bank right now.

You just can't get a hold of that number from the credit card department anymore.
Does anyone happen to know what the current allowance is for going over the limit?
It used to be like, twice my paycheck, but nowadays...

Basically, I just had this card approved—it's got a $7,000 standard limit, but the credit line is $13333.

I was trying to order some books from this one website.
The thing is, my Chase Mastercard wouldn't go through—the final step where you enter the security code from your token failed twice—so the seller just went ahead and canceled the order.
After that, I tried paying via PayPal instead, and that actually went through with a confirmation.

Now I’m looking at my Mastercard statement and I see I've been charged twice, even though I never even got a payment confirmation email for the card transaction!

I already sent an email to the seller, but should I also reach out to my bank? I'm with JPMorgan Chase...

??

Are we talking about an official statement here? It’s entirely possible you're looking at a pending authorization hold from a transaction that didn't actually clear—you know, those annoying little ghost charges that hang around before the money finally settles back into your account. Honestly, it’s always probably a good idea to just give JPMorgan Chase a call and double-check the actual status of the transaction.

It wasn't a hold—the exact same amount was charged twice for two transactions that showed up as "failed" on my end, and I never even got the usual confirmation email. To top it off, the seller emailed me saying the order was canceled (probably because they didn't see the payment hit their system, who knows...).
Then I went ahead and paid via PayPal—which actually gave me a receipt—and that charge shows up on my statement too ($10 came out of my PayPal balance and the rest hit my Chase Mastercard...).
Basically, I've paid for this order three times now... ☕

I've already sent emails to both the bank and the seller.

^Moguce je, honestly. With credit cards, they can still pull funds for up to 30 days, whereas with debit, you usually see everything settle within 7. And don't even get me started on Mastercard—they are painfully slow when it comes to this stuff. I actually went down to JPMorgan Chase at the start of last month to close out my account, and the whole ordeal dragged on until just a few days ago, all because of Mastercard. First, I have to sit around for another month waiting for the final Mastercard statement to clear—you can't just walk into the branch and settle everything on the spot; you have to wait until that very last transaction, which was some tiny amount, maybe a couple hundred bucks, hits the books. So, I show up a few days after everything supposedly cleared, and the teller is clicking away, ready to finalize the closure, but the system won't let her finish because it thinks there are still outstanding Mastercard charges pending. Even though both my online banking and the actual Mastercard balance showed zeroed out after that first sweep, the computer just refuses to close the account. She tells me she’s submitted a request and will reach out if anything else pops up or if it all clears smoothly. Then she starts venting to me about how their bank systems are incredibly clunky; apparently, even if the Mastercard bill is paid, she has no idea when their internal accounting catches up, and we might still be stuck in one of those weird limbo situations with credit card processing.

If that were the case, I would have been charged twice
+ plus, of course, it went through via PayPal...
It was just one of those transactions where it kept flashing "error" at me—yet somehow it processed perfectly fine and the money left my Visa account.

I guess I’ll see what happens once I get a hold of them tomorrow (either the bank or the merchant...)
