The wizard said:At some point, it actually felt best to just let this topic breathe. We should let our own shadows and personal imprints take over, allowing the conversation to evolve naturally in whatever direction the members decide to take it.

Solaris stepped in and took over after showing interest in the project.

Solaris, you’ve got full freedom to run this Thread now, but just remember—that comes with a certain level of responsibility. You're pretty much tied to it now. This Thread is starting to become a true reflection of who you are...

😲 😳 Look, maybe I didn't express myself quite right. I wasn't trying to push my way into anything, and honestly, I think there are plenty of people here who would be much better at running this Thread—they clearly have more knowledge and a more creative way with words. But, it is what it is. Fine, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

Asking why things are the way they are, or obsessing over what to do about them, actually clashes with the Creative. When we scramble to find absolute answers or hunt for that sense of certainty that knowledge supposedly provides, we're essentially showing a lack of faith. We're acting like we don't trust the Creative to guide us or to untangle the ambiguity of a situation right when it matters most.

Is this post a reflection of me? Honestly, yeah, but only partially. This Thread is going to be a mirror for everyone who ever posts here—everyone who decides to pour their soul into these words. After all, a rainbow isn't just one single color.

And one more thing that’s absolutely crucial: Solaris.

So, you're asking if Snake or the wizard should hand over a full year's calendar to you... Hmm. Why exactly? The dates for Witch Sabbathi and Esbath aren't some top-secret formulas or dark sorcery hidden away in hard-to-find holy books.
On the contrary, we're just talking about natural cycles that everyone is already familiar with. Solaris, I actually wrote a deep dive into this in the last issue of Witch Online. By doing a little bit of soul-searching, cross-referencing the standard American calendar, and using Google to check the exact timing for this year's equinoxes and solstices here in the States, anyone can put together their own pagan calendar. A witch's calendar.

And honestly, everyone should just make their own.

😲 😳 😁 I feel like I’m back in grade school! Why did I even ask about the calendar? Maybe it was just a lame excuse because I wanted to pull you and Snake back into this conversation. Honestly, either I haven't fully grasped my own responsibility yet, or the whole thing is actually scaring me a little. The only way to shake that feeling, obviously, is to become the calendar myself. 😉

And you actually did it! You stepped up and took charge of this thread entirely on your own terms, driven by your own will rather than being forced into it.

It looks like I’m going to have to spend some more time digging into my subconscious and figuring out what's actually driving me. 😁

briskrider8, look, you have all the freedom in the world to go mushroom hunting or obsess over cacti if that’s what you want to do. But I’ve never seen a track star smash their first personal records because they were riding around on a Yamaha 500.
I honestly think that under our influence, briskrider8 will choose freedom over doping.

Witch online is moving forward. Of course.

Snake and I are circling back to the basics. We’re returning to those simple, elemental foundations—things that might seem uninspiring or even mundane at first glance, but they are exactly where we find ourselves and truly forge our core essence.
Maybe it's around here somewhere, nearby.
I really hope you guys stick around and don't just vanish on us. There’s something so raw and fundamental about these topics that keeps them interesting, and I honestly feel like the two of you still have so much more to share. That said, if you decide it's time to move on to new things, that's totally fine too. I truly wish you nothing but the best on whatever path you choose. 🙂

Been coughing my lungs out lately. Decided to reach for some of the best herbs I know to help me breathe easier—way better than any drugstore bronchodilator.😁 ).

Well, let's start by putting names to faces:
White Hazel (*Althaea officinalis* L.). I remember seeing this stuff growing wild back in the suburbs of Chicago once. Just a quiet little plant, but it does its job.
The Mallow family—specifically the hazel varieties. Just one more thing to track.
The pharmaceutical designation: Radix, Folia et Flores althaeae.
Other folk names: ajbis, great hazel, white slime, good hazel, or just plain old mallow.
Hazel, sweet hazel, rosebuds, roses.

The name Althea actually traces its roots back to Greek. Even so. What does healing actually mean? It’s got nothing to do with that myth about Altheam hanging herself after finding out her own son murdered her brother.
The root of white hazel is packed with sugar—it’s been used since the days of ancient Egypt.
The ancient Greeks used to plant this little herb over the graves of their dead. I remember seeing a similar patch growing wild near an old cemetery back in Ohio—it always felt a bit heavy, sitting there in the dirt.
In magic, it’s all about protection. It boosts your psychic edge, and if you set it on an altar or light it during a ritual, you can call in the good spirits. I've seen it used in healing ceremonies, too.

Hazel falls under the rule of Venus, and her element is water.

It blooms from June right through the end of August. Typical.
It grows along riverbanks, in ditches, through damp meadows—basically anywhere you find floodplains. I remember seeing it taking over a backyard in New Orleans after a heavy storm. It just thrives in the wet spots.

The medicinal parts? It's the root. You dig it up in either the spring or the fall, right after the flowering finishes.
Flowers are harvested during their bloom, while the leaves wait until autumn. It’s a predictable cycle. Not in the spring! Never in the spring....right after the bloom.

Wash the root, peel off that outer layer, slice it lengthwise, and flash-dry it. Once it's completely bone-dry, dice it into tiny cubes—it needs to be stark white. I once saw a batch where little white worms crawled out of the pieces after soaking them in water; if that happens, toss the whole lot in the trash. Out of the entire plant, the root is where the real power lies.

It’s packed with nutrients—carbs, asparagine, fatty oils, sucrose, starch, pectin, and mucilage. In cold water, that mucilage just breaks down into glucose, galactose, and xylose. I remember seeing this in an old textbook back in college; nature really doesn't make things complicated if you look close enough.

Healing properties. Always back to that, isn't it? People looking for a quick fix when life gets heavy.

Marshmallow tea used to be my go-to for every little cold or cough that came my way. It’s mostly just that slimy mucilage doing the heavy lifting—nothing fancy or magical about its chemistry. I always found it worked best for a scratchy throat or those early stages of an upper respiratory infection, but once a sinus infection or bronchitis really takes hold? Forget it. It won't touch that. These days, you hardly see anyone reaching for it anymore.
It’s mostly just an add-on for cough syrups; its main job is to ramp up mucus production to build that protective layer.
White hazel works wonders to calm acute stomach inflammation when you mix it with chamomile. It’s also a lifesaver for chronic pharyngitis—especially when that dry, scratchy throat keeps triggering coughing fits. Honestly, if you're a heavy smoker dealing with persistent chronic bronchitis, this stuff is essential.

So, I've got this hacking cough, and my upper respiratory tract feels completely parched. I'm resorting to using some hazel root to help clear things out.

Honestly, this tea is incredible. I’ve been brewing my own blend of leaves, roots, and flowers—it has this deep blue hue and it's incredibly refreshing.

I always tell myself I’ll post a photo to go along with this, but then life gets in the way and I just forget.

wizard said:Hey everyone,

The witch online topic has been around for over two years now, and for that entire time, Snake and I have been the ones steering the ship. But as new faces joined the mix and the volume of posts exploded during the fourth and fifth editions, the thread and its whole vibe started evolving alongside the members, heading off on its own unique path.

Once I realized that this specific discussion—its very soul—didn't quite align with my personal journey anymore, I made a choice. I didn't want to start micromanaging or molding people just to try and manufacture little clones of "Wizard" to suit my own style. That goes against everything I believe in.

My path belongs to me and my personality alone. Every single person is an entire universe unto themselves; they need to find their own way.

At a certain point, it was simply best to let this thread break free from my influence, allow it to leave its own mark, and let it grow naturally in whatever direction the members take it.

And so, the wizard has finally found his freedom. 🙂

V. 🙂

by wizard, on V.OL 2

Questions, heavy ones, almost a cry for help...

I reach for the wizard book from the crags
where life’s magic, at a tavern table,
pours itself into verse...

I open Tinova's "mystery"...

***

Amidst the roar of the crowd and the narrow streets,
I lend my ear to the secret voices
that bring me endless solace,
echoing back wild, poetic cries.

I watch as my raging thoughts
flow into bitter, living tears,
and I dread the hour when terrible mysteries
will crush the night in a dark mass.

- Who am I and what am I, what will I become, whom do I love,
what do I seek, where am I going, for what do I wander? -
In vain do I beg the heavens for an answer,

terrified of myself, I swallow my tears;
the mystery of things and of life overwhelms me,
I know nothing, least of all myself.

***

************************************************** **

Even though it hurts to see Wizard and Snake moving on, the only right thing to do is let them go, set them free... without asking why or for what reason.

A free spirit can only breathe deeply in freedom and movement 🙂 🙂 , and everyone has the right to their own personal flight, whenever, wherever, and however they choose.

I want to thank both Wizard and Snake for all the fragments of Light and Wisdom they’ve shared with us. 🙂
(On a personal level, they helped me more than they probably even realize.)

THANK YOU

bright blessings dear friends

The premise of our Thread is straightforward. There’s no rigid dogma here, no set rituals, and certainly no human gurus breathing down your neck. We don't charge a dime, and we aren't looking for handouts.

We’ve gathered in this corner of the universe to exchange what we know and to contribute our own threads to this massive, interconnected web of wisdom. Every one of us has found our own unique place within it.

We welcome you to wander through this tapestry alongside us... and to stir that ancient knowledge sleeping deep inside your soul.

We have time...😉

Goals of The Witch

1. know yourself
2 . know Your Craft
3 . Learn 4
4 . Apply knowledge with wisdom
5 . Achieve balance 6
6 . Keep your words in good order
7. Keep your thoughts in good order
8 . Celebrate Life 9. Attune with The cycles of The Earth 10
9. Breathe and eat correctly
10 . Exercise The body 12.
11. Meditate
12. Honor The Goddess and god 1.

1. Know yourself

But how much do we actually know about ourselves?

And what exactly are we recognizing? Is it really us, or just the self-image we’ve built—perhaps a version of ourselves handed down by everyone else that we simply accepted without question? Neither of those is likely the full story, and neither truly represents our real Self.

How do we actually get to know our character, our temperament, our gut reactions, our masks, and our projections (yes, they exist!)? How do we observe how we view ourselves and how we evolve over time?

Do we actually love who we are?

The way we perceive ourselves heavily dictates how we judge everyone else, but I'm sure you guys already know that.🙂

So, who are you? What is your personal purpose here on this planet? What are you striving for, what do you hope for, and what keeps you up at night? Why?

P.S. It would be great if someone actually chimed in on this.

And even what we think we know—that self-image we carry around, whether it's our own construction or just a persona others forced upon us that we eventually accepted... neither version is necessarily complete, and neither truly represents our actual Self.
How do we begin to uncover our true character, our temperament, our gut reactions, the masks we wear, and the projections we cast (absolutely!)? How do we observe how we see ourselves and how we evolve over time?
Do we truly love who we are?
The way we perceive ourselves dictates, for the most part, how we view everyone else, though I'm sure you're already aware of that. 🙂
So, who are you? What is your personal purpose here on this Earth? What are you striving for, what do you hope for, and what keeps you up at night with fear? And more importantly, why?

I love myself just as much as I love anyone else—I’m obsessed with myself, really, but I’m far from happy because of my flaws and weaknesses.😳

1.1. Getting Acquainted with Your Shadow

—Based on my own experiences, that’s how I would title this first sub-chapter.

Sol, do you agree 😉 ?

YES, I’m with you—first, get to know your consciousness, your ego, and then dive into your shadow.

You can't just deny or push away your shadow. If you lock a monster in the basement, it’s only going to break its chains and come charging at you later. 😉

So, how do you actually confront your shadow and deal with it?

How are you all handling this? 😉

In several different ways:

- I lure her in with beer
- I wear her out with physical exercise
- I write exactly what she wants to hear

Ah, I see this thread is heading toward integration and smoothing out disharmony... definitely moving away from that witchy tension and instability 😉 which is why it lost its edge.

As for the shadow? You deal with it through light, obviously. Active and passive. Reflection. Taking in light from others, from the eternal source of life, from the sun, from your own internal source. Digging through your psyche reveals some pretty uncomfortable truths—things that used to show up as projections onto other people or twisted dreams.
But you don't just find the problems. You find more light too. New fields, new spaces, new energies that actually affirm life. If we only carried things that drained us, we would've been finished long ago. Facing the shadow makes us sensitive... lets us breathe fresh air.

Just had to have a little chat with my shadow, so here I am again. 😁 😁 😁

Anyway, Sun, you want to dive deep into the shadow right now, or should we just breeze through the rest of those points you laid out?

There’s a hell of a lot to get into here. 😉

I forgot to mention something!
Witch, here is the answer to your question...
I'm not sure if you've ever heard of the "mirror" method?

It’s one of those exercises you really have to go through during your initiation journeys.
Basically, it’s based on staring at your own reflection in a mirror and intentionally provoking your emotions—for example, stirring up jealousy, envy, or deceit, but also those "positive" traits like nobility or love...
With every emotion you trigger, a certain persona emerges. This is what some folks might call "demons," because we all carry our own version of heaven and hell inside us; you just have to learn how to draw them out and either conquer them or hold them steady, depending on what you're feeling.

Believe me, it isn't easy to keep your cool when you're looking at a distorted face while trying to confront your own jealousy.

It’s actually kind of hard for me to write about this exercise without being misunderstood. We are talking about our actual personalities here, because we aren't just the physical body we see in the glass... we are what lies within. And that inner self isn't just one single thing; it has these smaller divisions that we need to study and CONTROL. The whole point is so they stop controlling us... THAT is truly heavy lifting and one of the most challenging parts of being a Witch.

__________________________________________________ _____________________

Give this a try 😉

I did. As a result, there were some emotions I almost didn't dare look at 😁

Of course, we all have our own little demons and angels, a thousand different faces and roles we play.

Is a person actually aware of their emotions—that constant shifting—and do they truly understand them? Do they actually observe them?

By observing and learning about our emotions, we can figure out why certain ones pop up exactly when they do, triggered by specific things.
Often, it isn't just one single emotion appearing—the surface-level one we think is primary. Usually, it's a complex web of feelings; that superficial emotion isn't always the real deal, because the true root is often buried much deeper.

If we observe our emotions this way, is it possible to permanently cast certain ones out of our system?
For instance, you feel emotion X, but through observation and analysis, you realize emotion Y is actually driving it... and now you know. So, the next time emotion X hits, you recognize what's hiding behind it and realize it "isn't real."
What do you guys think?
Have you ever experienced anything like this?
