The vet was just doing their job. Honestly, the fact that a hunter was the one who saved her is what really sticks with me.

For generations, people living out in the rural Midwest or the rugged mountains lived by one rule: wild animals are the enemy. They wiped them out without a second thought—whether it was bears tearing through fishing gear or wolves slaughtering livestock in the middle of the night.

In all that "cruelty," you can't really call them brutal by today's standards. It wasn't about being mean; it was pure survival. That was just the simplest way to stay alive back then.

Nowadays, we tend to romanticize things, so hunters get a bad rap, while those "bloodthirsty wolves" are seen as victims. (And look, I’m not talking about trophy hunters killing for fun here—I mean the local community members who hunted to provide.)

To me, this story matters because it shows that even in those old-school environments, perspectives are shifting. People aren't just hunkered down trying to defend themselves from the wilderness anymore; they're actually stepping up to protect it.

So, my hat goes off to the community and the hunter who found her. I see this as a small but real step toward seeing humans as guardians of the wild rather than its enemies.

Fair enough. I only mentioned the "vet" because it rhymed, okay? 😬

Even people who actually know what they're talking about can see you can't just take down a creature like that easily.

I mean, have you seen those eyes?

Especially lately, when everyone from the government to the tax collectors acts like wolves—except, you know, they aren't even real wolves. They’re something else entirely. A buddy of mine who runs a ranch out in Montana told me this once:

"A wolf is easy. A wolf slips into the flock, takes one sheep, or maybe a few... but once an IRS agent gets into the pen? They'll walk away with twenty of your best sheep before you even blink."

😁 😢

Now that's some wisdom right there!
🙂

Man, those eyes...

I spent some time hanging around hunters recently... interesting story. But honestly? It needs a lot more focus and time than I can give it right now. Maybe later.

Chi-A.D. - 'Healing Magic'

There’s this specific healing ritual known as "the blessing way," something handed down through generations of our Navajo heritage. You can't just wing it, either—the songs and prayers have to be performed exactly as they’ve been for centuries, otherwise, you won't be able to call upon the Holy People. I remember sitting there as a kid, watching my dad go through the chants, seeing firsthand the power of that Healing Magic.

....

When the fight to keep going feels impossible, or when the pull to reunite with those who came before is just too much to resist, the body eventually just lets go.

....

But, on the flip side, if that spark to live—that raw desire to carry on—burns bright enough, the Holy People might just show some mercy.

Well, happy 😘 you know what...😉

I hope you eventually find whatever it is you're after...

The end of the world
Beautiful friend
The end of the world
My only friend, the end

The end of everything that stands, the end
The end of everything that stands, the end
The end no safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes... again

Can you imagine what's coming
Wilderness
Desperately in need... of some... stranger's hand
In a... desperate land

Lost in a roman... wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane
All the children are insane
Waiting for the summer rain, yeah

There's danger on the edge of town
Ride the king's highway, baby
Weird scenes inside the gold mine
Ride the highway west, baby

Wilderness, wilderness
To the lake, the ancient lake, baby
The snake is long, seven miles
Ride the snake... he's old, and his skin is cold

The Wild West
The Wild West
Get here, and we'll do the rest

The Blue Bus is calling us
The Blue Bus is calling us
Driver, where you taking us

The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on
He took a face from the ancient gallery
And he walked on down the hall
He went into the room where his sister lived, and... then he
Paid a visit to his brother, and then he
He walked on down the hall, and
And he came to a door... and he looked inside
Father, yes son, I want to Kill you
Mother... I want to... fuck you

Come on baby, take a chance with us
Come on baby, take a chance with us
Come on baby, take a chance with us
And meet me at The Blue Bus
Blue Bus
Blue Bus
Blue Bus
Come on, yeah

Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill

The end of the world
Beautiful friend
The end of the world
My only friend, the end

The end IT Hurts to set you Free but you'll never follow me
But you'll never follow me
The end of Laughter and Soft Lies
The end of Nights WE tried to die

The end

Cherokee Prayer

May a warm celestial breeze
blow gently over your home.
May the Great Spirit
bless everyone who enters.
May your footsteps
leave happy tracks through the deep snows
and may a rainbow
always rest upon your shoulder.

Ponytail Prayer

Oh, Eagle, come with wings spread wide against the sunny sky.
Oh, Eagle, come and bring us peace,
your peaceful calm.
Oh, Eagle, come and grant new life to those of us praying to you.
Remember the celestial circle,
the Star,
and the brown eagle,
the life path sun,
and the young ones in the nest.
Remember all that is sacred.

Prayer to the Great Spirit
Prayer of Yellow Owl, Sioux Tribal Chief

Great Spirit,
whose breath gives life to the entire world,
hear me!
I am small and weak,
and I need your strength and wisdom.
Grant me understanding of the things
you have taught my people.
Teach me your lessons
that you have hidden beneath every
leaf and stone.
Give me strength,
not so that I might be greater than my brother,
but so that I may conquer my greatest
enemy—myself.
Allow me to walk through beauty
and to forever watch
the red and pink sunset
and when the sun begins to set,
let me come to You with clean hands,
an honest gaze,
and without shame.

Prayers of Gratitude

Now, let us all listen to these words
that have become our most sacred traditions.

Together we offer our thoughts
as one, giving thanks
to one another.
Let these be our thoughts.

Together we offer our thoughts
and give thanks to mother earth
for the life she provides.
Let these be our thoughts.

Together we offer our thoughts
and give thanks for
the first fruits that grow, the berries.
Let these be our thoughts.

Together we offer our thoughts
and give thanks for all the medicines,
for the plants.
Let these be our thoughts.

Together we offer our thoughts
and give thanks for the tobacco we use
to send our messages to the creator.
Let these be our thoughts.

Together we offer our thoughts
and give thanks to all the various animals
that help us sustain our lives.
Let these be our thoughts.

Together we offer our thoughts
and give thanks to all our different trees,
with the maple being the most exceptional of them all.
Let these be our thoughts.

Together we offer our thoughts
and give thanks
to all the waters, both great and small.
Let these be our thoughts.

Together we offer our thoughts
and give thanks
to all the different birds that delight us.
Let these be our thoughts.

Together we offer our thoughts
and give thanks to the forces that work with the earth,
our ancestral thunder, which brings the rain
to renew the land.
Let these be our thoughts.

Together we offer our thoughts
and give thanks
to our eldest brother, the sun,
who provides us with light and warmth.
Let these be our thoughts.

Together we offer our thoughts
and give thanks
to our grandmother, the Moon,
who governs all life cycles on earth.
Let these be our thoughts.

Together we offer our thoughts
and give thanks
to the stars, for they are our kin and beautify the sky.
Let these be our thoughts.

Together we offer our thoughts
and give thanks
to the four messengers who guide us.
Let these be our thoughts.

Together we offer our thoughts
and give thanks
to the creator of all, for it is the creator who brought us all together as one.
Let these be our thoughts.

Now, our thoughts are One.
