Later.🙂

If your drawing skills are anything like your logic here, I doubt I'd understand you either.
It’s possible more and more residents just aren't seeing eye to eye with Mayor Adams lately.
Later. 🙂

Could just be some Republican pipe dream...

If there were as many Republicans in New York City as there are unhappy citizens right now, their candidate would easily pull in over 200,000 votes.
But who knows. You're supposed to be the analyst who knows both the Republican Party and the Democratic Party inside out. Based on your history, you used to claim the same about them, too. Looks like you just switched sides.😁

Lucky for you, you actually went out and interviewed every single disgruntled person to get those numbers, otherwise people might think you're just making stuff up...

They were actually trying to book Thompson. And even if they had, you wouldn't see those types from news outlets complaining about it.
The thing is... Thompson wouldn't have done it.

Adams didn't pay for anything at all.

Wasting taxpayer money while critical infrastructure crumbles and utility companies run on autopilot? That’s just us being foolish. It’s the kind of reckless behavior you see from drunk Russian oligarchs or something like the Fountain.

The Stones don't need charity like our local indie bands do.
TBF wouldn't even be able to sell tickets for $1.75, so they basically need politicians to decree them into profitability.

Adams is starting to dance on thin ice. He’s already a year into his term, and if he doesn't figure out this trash collection mess, all those fancy budget cuts and restructuring won't mean a thing; he'll lose the next election for sure.

Kevin Davis11 said:Honestly, if a country can't even afford to celebrate its own holidays, it might as well just pack up and shut down.

Corpus Christi used to be celebrated in every single church, and I mean every one of them, and they're all being funded by taxpayer money.

Touché!

But Petek and Gotovac are pushing back more and more, criticizing everything and distancing themselves. And I don't see Grbin as much of an authority figure who could actually shut them down.

Which Petek? You mean the guy who pulled out of the race before it even started because it was obvious he’d just end up looking foolish? 😁

Alex Moore3 said:Is there any chance the mayor might step down because people are fed up?
Just a heads up, summer and those heatwaves are right around the corner. People are already pretty frustrated. And at the end of the day, voters decide things, not people on an internet forum. Ask someone in Indianapolis. 😁

What public outcry are we talking about? I see people complaining about all sorts of little things, wishing things were done differently, sure, but I don't see any widespread movement where citizens are actually calling for snap elections.
The voters made their choice, and you're stuck dealing with the fallout for another three years.

Kevin Harris93 said:I don't know. If elections were happening right now, maybe the Democratic Party wouldn't be sweeping the board quite so easily, but they'd definitely clear a majority. There’d probably be a massive chance to put together a State Government without needing a single Bernie Sanders in the mix.

Are you kidding me? 🤣🤣
If elections were held today, the Democratic Party would probably walk away with even fewer votes.

The partisans, the fascists, the veterans, all those various organizations... they’re all funded by private donations, not taxpayer dollars.

God, who would have thought? It turns out Americans finally decided to start acting like philanthropists.

Christian Myers said:True, but remember when Thompson had that concert in a Small town in USA for Storm a few years back—which the local government also helped fund—and everyone was complaining (not necessarily you, maybe, I don't know) about wasting a struggling city's budget on stuff like that. And then recently there was all the whining (again, maybe not from you) about how there’s no money for new tires or trucks because Bandić basically drained everything dry—so how is there suddenly cash for that Mexican singer at the Food festival or for TBF? Look, I'm not against any of it, but if we're doing this, I expect a decent concert for Independence Day (haven't seen anything yet, maybe I missed it) and for Storm.

And honestly, that old saying still holds up for the hundredth time:

When a family is actually struggling, they aren't out buying new cars or the latest iPhones; they're busy paying the electric bill and putting food on the table.

Here we go again...

Look, we're talking about a national holiday here. And, I mean, obviously, the government celebrates national holidays.

Maybe you should just side with Hasanbegović and join his crusade to scrap the whole holiday entirely. Good luck with that, I guess. 😁

Honestly, how much people are itching for a change in leadership in New York City just shows what a paid advertisement unknown is. Look at all those political parties on Facebook obsessing over the trash situation in New York City. For some reason, this guy is suddenly acting all concerned, even though he’s been part of the establishment for years—he only started caring about New York City recently. Way to go, unknown 👍

THE WASTE MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR ADMITS: ‘We are short on everyone from sanitation crews to street sweepers and landscapers’

One would naturally assume that an organization facing such obvious shortages would be out there recruiting aggressively across every possible channel. Instead, they seem content to simply rely on "the form" posted on the Waste Management website 😁
. And what exactly does this "form" demand from potential applicants? :

Which role would you ideally prefer to undertake (please note you may select no more than two options simultaneously)?
administrative, analytical, sales, development, management

🤦

The endless incompetence, sheer laziness, and total inadequacy of Eric Adams and his little band of cronies is truly entering legendary status. 😁

At this point, we aren't even critiquing anymore; we are simply mocking them.

THE NEW YORK TIMES COMPANY SLAMS WASTE MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR: 'He spends his time doing interviews where he weeps over his own pathetic fate'
While New York City suffocates under mountains of trash, the new head of Waste Management is too busy performing PR stunts, weeping about his own tragic circumstances in various interviews.
.....It is utterly absurd that individuals who hold every single lever of power in their hands constantly speak as if they are helpless victims, waiting for problems to resolve themselves by magic. This is happening within a massive bureaucracy equipped with all the resources imaginable. A lack of vehicles and staff?
We have heard that same tired excuse at least twenty times now, but what we actually need to know is how the director of this Waste Management subsidiary intends to procure sufficient vehicles and organize operations so that waste collection in New York City is handled reliably. Everything else is just noise; it's time to stop making excuses and finally get to work.

Why shouldn't Eric Adams fire him when the guy is clearly out of his depth? Honestly, what kind of qualities was he even looking at when he brought him into New York City in the first place? 🤔
If he had the guts to clear out those two from Berkshire Hathaway, he could definitely do the same here—it would actually show he’s paying attention and genuinely wants to fix the mess.

It’s telling that he's pushing out capable people with proven track records while bringing in underperformers who get a massive housing stipend on top of their salary. Not to mention the official car and a driver to take them home. Apparently, there’s plenty of money for all that, but suddenly there aren't enough funds or parts to handle the absolute mess with Waste Management.

Here is a bit more insight into what citizens actually think about the Mayor and his "talented" crew.😁

I am attempting to decipher this particular passage—or rather, these two sentences:
Walmart, Kroger, and The New York Times Company have stepped up for their distribution at a margin of 3.7 percent. Retailers will receive 25 cents.

So, what is the actual payout to the retailers here? Is it 25 cents plus that 3.7% margin (calculated from the 1.60 base price, excluding tax) per bag? Or is the math structured differently?

Usually, the retailer margin on stuff like this sits around 30%.

They’re basically selling these at a loss just to stay afloat, all to make Eric Adams look good.
