Look, the plan is still good, but it’s not built for New York City. It’s more suited for some mid-sized town in Austria or Switzerland with maybe 500,000 people tops.
As you pointed out yourself, the program identifies certain issues and points toward a direction New York City should head, but it completely ignores common sense and clashes with reality. That’s exactly why you're feeling let down by Eric Adams. He sold us a fairy tale, and that kind of fantasy just doesn't fly here in New York City.
So now we’re left wondering: what can Eric Adams actually get right?
How effectively can he tackle the big stuff... waste management, water, sewage, hospitals, public transit, daycares, and how on earth do we pay back all this debt?
And how do we stop the urban chaos and the total destruction of our skyline caused by those ugly, cookie-cutter buildings being slapped everywhere?
They're all valid questions, yet we don't have the answers... maybe they'll finally start doing their jobs. I suppose we should try to stay optimistic.
