Rebecca Clark6 said:California is moving toward a universal C model for everyone

Robin Grant said:Exactly. Down in San Diego, kids in grades 1-4 have their spring break pushed back to April 19th. Everyone else—specialized elementary classes, high schools, and even the seniors—is strictly remote.

Reasonable.
Wait, 🤦can you drop a link to those details?

hiddendriver34 said:The folks over in California have basically geared up their entire lives just for the peak season. For them, it’s all about catering to the tourists and nothing else.
We'll just have to wait and see how the rest of the states decide to play it.

Just tourists. It’s kind of terrible, really.
😢And honestly, seeing how everyone is totally backing that one loudmouth guy... he's basically that one person who walks into a room and just takes over everything. He's completely embedded himself.

Did the state headquarters extend the school year?
Or are they planning on making us make up classes on Saturdays?

Cheers

They should just scrap this whole thing and start fresh next year. 😁

Best,

I mean, what’s the point of school if they can all just work in tourism anyway?🕺

The local county office in a place like Charleston has had kids out of school for a month now, and you don't really see a huge spike in cases.

Today, California decided to extend their break because they found 21 new cases (though 16 were already in isolation, so they shouldn't be spreading it much further).🙏
And apparently, that's going to be the thing that "saves" us from the pandemic.🤔

3200 new ones or just 28%... honestly, that's pretty rough.

Of course it’s a mess, and honestly, this probably isn't even the worst of it when you look at what's coming down the pipe...
I’ve already mentioned that most students—especially the high school crowd—are going to be stuck doing remote learning for at least another week.
It’s not like I’m personally rooting for this or anything, but let's be real: other people are going to make that call based on how things actually play out.
If you just keep an eye on how things are trending globally or watch how people handle holiday gatherings and big events, you don't exactly need a crystal ball to see where this is heading. ☕

We're looking at 1.5 million for sure, maybe more. We still have all those elementary and high school grades to account for.

So, looks like Fuchs just dropped word that even Washington, D.C. is moving everything online starting Monday.

How can they possibly justify this?😠
It seems—if I may be so bold—that they aren't considering the agendas of those profiting from wartime instability.

I mean, looks like the kids are just gonna miss out on that whole epic experience, which sucks. 🙂

Oh, fantastic. Now they’re just going to dump all the tests at once and then suddenly cram five of them into a single week. It’s enough to drive anyone absolutely insane—I guess.

here we go again with the half-baked info that drives me insane ; what kids are we even talking about? all of them? or just middle schoolers and the older elementary kids? i don't get how you can't just give a straight answer in one single announcement 🙂

Yeah, I get it, we don't need to go down the rabbit hole of online schooling right now... but seriously... weren't they supposed to announce this sooner? Is it everyone, or just the little ones heading back to class? I need to figure out my schedule at work if the kid is staying home. A seven-year-old can't just be left alone to rot in front of the TV all day. Not everyone has grandparents living next door to help out, and even if I did, let's be real, it’s a massive ask. Are we actually getting the full details this Sunday at 10:00 PM?? I can't exactly just ghost my boss because Fox dropped some vague hint.🙄

The decision to switch over to Model C instruction applies to students in grades 5 through 8, plus all high schoolers except for those graduating seniors. This policy will stay in effect for one week, after which they'll run an analysis to see how the measure actually worked.

Oh, thanks for the heads-up. Apparently, not every journalist managed to catch that specific detail, though honestly, the bigger question is why on earth did they wait this long to decide, and why are we finding out about everything via the news first? Makes sense, right?😍 Well, whatever. At least it didn't trigger a massive tectonic shift in my living room.

Back in my school days, they always told us to keep an eye on the news because we’d be the last ones to find out anyway... and honestly, it feels just like that for the past year, week after week...
